Just because he believes his achievements are God's work, doesn't mean it IS true. He's only trying to tell you that he is special because God chose him. It's all about Stan... and his repetitive, vague concept of 'believing'. Never really explains how 'believing' manifests into moods, feelings, actions etc. Unfortunately, he doesn't have the education to make true sense to the audience and we can see the poor interviewer a little perplexed at the lack of depth in Stan's rhetoric.
