What a precious space in a busy world, full of distractions, let's be distracted by the quiet presence of this library. 💛🤗💛

I really wish we would have something of that quality here on the west coast of Canada. Our Public Library has become a hangout for the homeless, a place someone might drop off their geriatric parent or freeloaders! It's quiet pathetic really. It's never quiet because there are other activities and their book selection is quite poor. Libraries in Canada are on their way out. I like the idea of a membership and for there to be some stringent rules, but I'm also certain we would run into trouble with some Human Rights Group seeing that we are "exclusive" in some ways. I envy you. You have no idea how special you are! Good Luck!

      All libraries should be free

@@joannaszulc1496 And virtually EVERY city in America has a least ONE free, public library. That doesn't mean there can't ALSO be a private library that requires a paid membership. Not everyone wants to rub elbows with homeless people camping out all day - which is what public libraries in big cities have become. Do YOU go to a "public gym"? Or do YOU eat at a free soup kitchen everyday? I'd imagine YOU pay for things that aren't "free" to the general public every day.

Did you know the UK's highest IQ 250-300 was born in Beeston & raised as a slum-kid in Radford? His book The Autobiography of God Almighty is probably the largest illustrated book since Leonardo & deals with maths, logic, philosophy, art, language foundations [Arabic, Greek, Latin, German & English]. His Italian villa & art-gallery contains a vast library & there are TH-cam films on his life & art, such as The Lost Genius, Jim Overbeck explains his art 1,2 & 3 and Dolcedo Art of the Thunderbolt. He remembers queueing in Council House Square at the newly-opened Parr's Pork Pies in the late 40's or early 50's.

You should contact Matt Turpin who runs the Beestonian magazine. He'd be really interested to learn more a Beeston native. You can contact him on Twitter @Beeestonia

Yes, of course there are, but I doubt there are many with an atmosphere such as this one appears to have. This little film makes me want to visit the place.

Keats & Lawrence bummed around parts of Italy near here [Dolcedo, Liguria] & a few years ago I was near Viareggio where Byron burned Keats' corpse, when my car-tyre burst at speed & we - my driver, Prof RK & I - ricocheted off an oncoming truck. Metal peeled & gyrated & shredded an inch from my face and trashed the vehicle, but I phoned my Beloved and said, Hiya, duck, the car's a freaking right-off but my testicles are okay. She immediately replied, You know I prefer the Rover. Anyway, I bought a Jaguar XF and [to be continued].
