For the map, at 32:10, that's roughly the layout of the level. The red block is where you're standing. The blue "E" in the middle is the room you're in. It shows you where each of the door/pipes or something, notice how at 32:15, the red block moves to the top right in a horizontal room. At 32:40, when you go through the pipe (bottom right part of the map with the arrow), you can see the map changes completely - that's a second part of the house that didn't fit previously. Whether it was necessary... I'm not sure, but I guess the person wanted to give a guide to the player who could possibly be lost in the dark rooms for easier orientation, to check where you are, where you need to go (if you know you were missing a spiny helmet or something) and navigate there.

I'd have loved to have encountered the Ghost House Mystery Mansion level myself, that looked brilliant and it had lots of little details. Using powerups as ways to make areas accessible has been done but it didn't look bad. The Boos and boxes used to make haunted paintings, the chimney a dnbfireolsxe stuff was great world building and I realised in a bit it was a classic style map with the red blocl being Mario's current position, just a nice touch. Lots to appreciate there! Not often I see a level in videos that I respect!

That ghost house level was very cool with very good decoration. Those squares with ghosts in it represents paitings and the level even had its own map system that Ryu was mistaking for a "clue"
I'm losing my mind over quarantine. So many people have been victimized by the government, including me. People in Spain even had the police barge in their house and made them get naked. I have a hard time believing it's even gonna end. I might buy a gun and kill myself idk. Cuz if it goes on for this long, and so many people have gone through traumatizing things from the government and police barging in, is it even worth being alive to see the end? Dude, the haunted mansion level was a good level. The aesthetics were on point, the map had hints about you where you needed to use your new power-ups, the checkpoints were well-placed. The fact that you couldn't be bothered to try to figure out the level's whole gimmick doesn't make it bad. Honestly Ryu, I like your stuff a lot, but the way you snub good levels sometimes can be really frustrating.

Puzzle solving ghost house, and the first one turns out to be a dark level. Somehow is actually really good. I guess there are exceptions to every rule. You can make good levels using any mechanics, some are just... harder to work with than others.
Hey, Ryu! Pretty sure the ghosts outlined in tracks within the last level were supposed to be haunted paintings. The map, I believe, was showing blue blocks to outline the rooms, red blocks to show your current location, and donuts/tracks to show transition points (doors/pipes.)

I've never liked the levels where it's all dark except for a circle of light around Mario. I also don't like the levels that have a restriction like you can't touch the ground once you leave it. Those are just not as fun. I prefer if the level creators create some kind of mechanic that prevents you from finishing the level if you leave the ground. Adding a rule that is forced arbitrarily without having to create a mechanic allows for a lazy level design.

I work for a marketing company... I only watch four things on TH-cam daily and Ryu is one of them :) However, the reason I don't subscribe is because once you subscribe, TH-cam tries to put more ads for me to watch. I support you by watching ads, but if I subscribe then they put more ads. Also every time someone subscribes to your channel, then TH-cam tries to recommend more channels. It's like watching your favorite TV show, they are required to put a certain amount of commercials to make a certain amount of money. RYU you are awesome, I wish you did more endless no skips.
To be honest though, your analytics of the ratio of viewers that are actually subbed is much better than a lot of other youtubers. Most have have like 60% of viewers NOT subscribed

I honestly thought I've been subscribed to the channel, since I've been following you since the last few months or so. Seems I didn't but your videos still came up to my homepage, I guess you are right to mention it, every once in a while.
I think each donut means a door, while donut+arrow means a pipe. The red block is where you are. The track means where the door takes to. And two maps are connected by that pipe. However, I don’t think the map helps at all.

However, the reason I don't subscribe is because once you subscribe, TH-cam tries to put more ads for me to watch. I support you by watching ads, but if I subscribe then they put more ads. Also every time someone subscribes to your channel, then TH-cam tries to recommend more channels. It's like watching your favorite TV show, they are required to put a certain amount of commercials to make a certain amount of money. RYU you are awesome, I wish you did more endless no skips.

To be honest though, your analytics of the ratio of viewers that are actually subbed is much better than a lot of other youtubers. Most have have like 60% of viewers NOT subscribed
I usually watch random recommended stuff on youtube, I mostly watch a video or 2 from a person and then completly forget about it. I only hit the subscribe button if I catch myself watching more than 10 videos from a youtube channel and actively searching for more. It happened to me on your channel, at first I was like "yo what is mario maker?" and now I'm like "for *** sake why does ryu uploads only 3 times a week?". Love your vids, cya.

I think each donut means a door, while donut+arrow means a pipe. The red block is where you are. The track means where the door takes to. And two maps are connected by that pipe.

That is true, I see your point because it is just like the notification bell if you watch all the time and don't subscribe, but I think it is more for the TH-camrs. When they reach milestones such as getting a YT Plaque, it feels huge to them and you can feel proud that you helped them get there. Something like that... It is just showing your support honestly.
