What 7Hz designed the 71 to do is to compliment the sound signatures of it's own iem's as that is what they test them with. I own the 7Hz 71 and I use it with the 7Hz Zero, 7Hz Zero 2 and the 7Hz Sonus. This little dongle is great when paired with these aforementioned iem's. Amplifiers do just what the name implies - amplify sounds. So, if you're iem has shouty or muddy characteristics...... You guessed it, it's going to amplify those characteristics. The 71 has a slightly warm/bassy signature. The reviewer is correct in saying that most entry level iem's tend to be fatiguing in the treble region, so a warmer sounding dongle would be the appropriate sound signature to use in the 7Hz 71.
I have used 7Hz 71 DAC for a few days. I can confirm that bass region is slightly emphasized. What i did not like was very sharp, analytical, some would say clinical, treble region both on my headphones (AKG K250) and loud speakers MB Quart QL 20 C on power amp (although less pronounced). Having previously owned SMSL Sanskrit 10 mkII I can say 7hz dac (with AK4377 chip) does have nothing of marketed VELVET sound. This is not necessary bad thing. Highly detailed, energetic presentation with great channel separation will probably thrill young people.
Interested in finding out more about the treble response you got from it. The HiBy FC3 I have is slightly warm in presentation, pairing with the KZ DQ6 I have. The 7Hz 71 sounds like it would pair with a warm-sounding IEM like my TRN Xuanwu.
I have the 7hz and enjoy it with my AKG K240 Sextetts (with an external amp because they are 600 ohms), my 7hz Timeless iems and my Rode NTH - 100. I also have the Moondrop Dawn dongle dac but unfortunately after a few weeks it no longer works...apparently that is quite common. For the price one pays it is a no brainer and so far it is still working..
Hi boss, what do you think if I pair it with the MYER AUDIO CLXVX D41 Iem? Will it compliment each other ? As the D41 has good highs and clarity? Thank you 🙏
One of the keys to a long term relationship is setting boundaries and ground rules. This is particularly true for audiophiles and the sharing of gear. This might be the most insightful revelation from this review.
I have a cheap Sharkoon Mobile DAC. Can't tell how good it really is, I fear my headphones aren't really very good. It did sound OK on some nice satellite speakers I tested it with, much more apparent detail than on the headphones and a soundstage. It has an equalizer button for high boost low boost or both and just 15 on amazon. (I wouldn't complain about my GF on my youtube channel, that would be a dangerous thing to do :p)
You don't need it to have full power of the DAC. However, the sound fidelity will be slightly better if you avoid Android resampling by using some of those players that can get direct control of a DAC. That's like a general truth that goes for all DACs.
I use three standard Apple USBC dongle, it's great, but has a lack of power to drive to a good volume with some headphones. It would be good to hear your thoughts on these types of devices compared to the Apple. Cheers.
7Hz 71 je zadovoljavajući DAC pogotovo u cjenovnom razredu (nedostaje snage no nisam ni očekivao) . CRO_TRANSLATE

Lol - I love my wife dearly but not enough to trust her with my Mojo 2. Great review, hope you had a good holiday mate ✌️
You don't let your wife touch your dongle?😂😂😂

one of the best budget entry level dac, to get more you shound spend more than 60-70usd.

👋 HI SRBOLJUB, I HOPE ALL IS WELL WITH YOU 🤗👍💚💚💚
Is this a better purchase over the apple usbc dac ? Using for IEMs
What is the name of thevcompany that makes the Audio usbc software mentioned for Apple dongle?

Thanks for the review. It's indepth and well laid out.
Thanks for the review. I'd like you get access to a Violectric Chronos dongle and hear a review from you.
I guess you meant LIGHTNING connector (for iPhone). Thunderbolt is mechanically identical to USB-C.
Yes, I meant lightning... 😅

Is this a good pairing for my Samsung Xcover 5 and 7hz Timeless? i need more bass/power, thanks!
iiWi Reviews Thanks Much !
I'd be curious to hear how you think this DAC compares to the $9-10 Apple USB-C to 3.5 mm Headphone Jack Adapter - which is a dongle DAC, in reality.
OK, I've just ordered one to try it out.
@@iiWiReviews That's great - thank you.
@@iiWiReviews what happen now? How is it?
Does it need usb player pro or something like that to power it in full potential?

Is this better than VE Abigail pro?
Does the dac increase no. of volume steps?
Can I use a mic from the headset with this dac?
is this good with the truthear hexa
How about ibasso dc03 pro
It's a lot better compared to this.
Happy Boxing Day.
I hope you had a good Christmas with those you love.
Big question..will there ever be one that just works with an Apple phone 🤦♂️
It will be easier when iPhone switches to USB-C (EU is making them so it is happening).
Happy holidays too!
@@darkestmind7342 Nah, I’m good with them.
Now ..what ‘23 holds in store..
I just got the WU’s ..and they’re pretty good.
@@darkestmind7342 I run the IFI Go Blue..and I’m very happy with it.
