The giant sand worm (the old man of the desert) isn’t supposed to fit into a specific space. If you choose to use it, the Atreides player can use a desert power action to remove all worms from the board to bring out the big one. The giant sand worm occupies a whole quarter of the board instead of one territory. This does give an advantage to the Atreides player, but it is nerfed by the fact that the Atreides player cannot use or gain Bene Gesserit tokens.
I agree about sleeving but the cmon trays in a box in a box don't really allow it. For a premium game I would really want to be able to store it and the tokens and the sleeved cards back in
I fitted mine back in the box but that means shoving the dice somewhere else. I agree it's not ideal but I'll probably get a solution to also hold the expansions. It's likely to be my favourite game for a while.
@@TabletopKnights how you coping with getting the tokens in, sleeved cards, plastic tokens etc. I love this thing, i just don't have time for faffy storage lol. Love the video btw
Definitely check the plastic tokens, if there are Harkonnen settlements, because I definitely didn't get them. I got the bags numbered 1 (2x), 2 and 3 and they are in none of those. Have yet to file a compliant...
From Update #29 dated 10/19/22: The Plastic Token Set contains: 3 Prescience Markers 1 Supremacy Marker 3 Imperium Markers 1 Spice Reserve Marker 8 Atreides Garrison Deployment Tokens 8 Atreides Deployment Tokens 12 Harkonnen Garrison Deployment Tokens 16 Wormsign Tokens 6 Ecological Testing Station Tokens 8 Sietch Tokens 6 Cone of Silence Tokens 5 Bene Gesserit Tokens That’s a total of 77 plastic tokens. The plastic token set doesn’t contain plastic versions of the Pyon Village, Carthag, and Arrakeen tokens, since backers will be using their nifty 3D versions and those settlements have no need to keep a token under them.
How do we get replacements? I've been watching the BGG forum and it seems that every plastic tokens set has this color difference issue. I hope they issue replacements. Especially since we payed premium for this
The size of the models has limited the quality and details for sure. I think they are good enough to paint and the bases and poses make it very easy to determine who is who. You can have quite a number of named leaders on the board at any time so the need to paint them is likely if it's a bit hard to spot them in the clutter.
I'm yet to study them under strong light, I'm a bit colour blind. The tokens that seem to matter get covered by buildings so not sure if there is actually an issue because you can put the buildings on top then.randomise.
@@TabletopKnights my understanding is that it matters, but I haven't received my game so who knows. How you're right. They would be lighter in tone, something you should notice even color blind I would think
@@simonb4689 An update. I've taken a look and definitely 2 of the worm tokens are slightly brighter than the others. Given these are place on the board uncovered, they will need to be replaced or I will paint them all.
@@TabletopKnights no worries. I look forward to watching the gameplay vids while I wait for my copy! Also I was curious if the two bags of plastic tokens marked as 1 was correct or not. Thanks for sharing!
Board looks like it’s going to get very busy with all those Minis especially with huge worms and ships. I passed on it because I already have War of the Ring and prefer the LotR IP over Dune.
The quality of my plastic tokens is atrocious. Different colours and different patterns render them utterly useless for gameplay purposes. The spice blow tokens are all different colours based on what is on the reverse side. The worm tokens are bright yellow... I cannot believe that this got through quality control. They look like bedroom 3D prints.
It's a little difficult to answer but most person minis average 30-32mm in height, with many standing on rocks etc, adding to that figure. So about the same as a standard space marine or just under. There are two tones of red and green and it's easy to spot leaders.
Would definitely be interested to see some gameplay for this one!
Coming soon!
About time we’re seeing the physical product! Thanks for posting
Our pleasure!

Thanks, we weren't using the Old Man option, he was just watching the game too but he's likely to be in the next one.
Omg I can't wait to get my copy. Thanks for sharing

I have everything in except the expansions and the lid is up 1cm at most, so not too bad.
I would like a play test video.
We have plenty of videos coming in this game next week!

That's a shame. I went to CMON support straight away.

@@MegaLoMeiniac Well that explains it actually. I've searched online for the contents of the box and didn't get any meaningful results. Thanks.

I've raised a support ticket with CMON, so I expect if we all do that there'll have to be a solution.
What about miniatures quality? Are they well done? What about their details? Some say that quality of CMONs minitures dropped down.

Can't wait to get mine! Do you think there is enough room in the inserts to accomodate sleeves?
There's heaps of space for sleeved cards. I'll be using Gamegenic Standard American Matte.
Awesome, I have piles of Sleevekings to get through :D@@TabletopKnights
I wanted this game so bad, but shipping price for my country was bigger than the pledge xD I hope it will be released to retail soon
You'll be able to get the Retail version fairly soon. It may be hard to find an exclusive edition if you want the plastic Settlements etc.
Ah yes, The Baron Floaty big dude xD
Such a lovely chap
man you need to float your mic off the table. that thudding every time you touch or move anything is brutal. (just a suggestion)
Sorry, didn't hear it in editing. It usually hangs from a rack.

They could have done with some tokens that multiply figures, thus reducing the need for so many, given they are quite large in scale.
Like to watch some gameplay and review.
Recording those over the next 2 days!

Thanks mate! Can you give us a sense of how the character minis are sized against, say, 40k scale?
