Mismatch between cultures, and football philosophy nothing more.
‘Hate’ is the type of argument that gets used when people believe that they can’t be wrong.
‘It can’t be us, we did absolutely nothing wrong, so I guess he just hates us’.
And than they start to look for signs that proof them right, ignoring those that disprove it. Conformation bias at it’s finest.

@@NicolasPetrali93 well look, I'm Latin American and studied in the Netherlands, I can tell you that there's a lot about our cultures that don't mix well. While in Latin America we're very relaxed and casual about many things, the Dutch are very direct and strict. Ask yourself, why? In Latam we are blessed with fertile soil and ecosystems that can feed us year-round, while the Dutch have survived what has practically been a war against the ocean by being direct. Mind you, if your neighbor doesn't do a good job maintaining their dike, everyone's houses get washed away by the sea when the tide rises enough. The Dutch being this direct is what has kept them alive, so no, I'm not being apologetic, I'm being comprehensive, these are very different.
Van Gaal is also manager who dumps players who argue with him. He is not interested in being challenged, that's it. He designs a team system and expects players to assume their roles in it. Plenty of Latin American players have fit in just fine while others haven't. Sergio Romero and Marcos Rojo come to mind and I'm sure that you'll find cases that go both ways in his managerial career.

Did you know that most Europeans never looked at the WC as some kind of rivalry between Europe and South America? Also have no idea why. But here are some counters anyway, just for fun.
Europe has many great football countries, each with a unique style. Germany, England, Spain, Italy, Belgium, Portugal, the Netherlands, France, Croatia and many more (not in an specific order btw, and I’m sorry if I missed some)
The Euros is basically at the same level as the WC, since there is just not enough room in the WC for every great European football country.
The best South American players, except Pelé, choose to play in Europe when they are at their best, not in South America.
Football, as we know it today, has been invented in Europe. More specifically in England.
A lot of great players through time. Just to name a few you may have heard of: Zidane, Ronaldo, Cruyff, Iniesta, van Basten, de Bruyne, Beckenbauer and many, many more
It’s easy to consider yourself the best, when you play by your own rules. For example: we don’t really care about the olympics when it comes to football, so that’s basically a free win. Also copa america is played way more often than the Euros, so yeah another free win

      @jeroen3618 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

@@tukamushabagodfrey484 Next time do some research. But fine, here are some facts about the Euros compared to the WC.
As you may know the World Cup has room for 32 countries. Yes the Euros have less countries, only 24. Despite that fact the last Euros had around the same amount of total player value as the World Cup, around 13 billion dollars.
Yes the euros lack countries like Brazil Argentina and Uruguay, but make up for it with an tougher average, especially in the group stages. I don’t mean disrespect to the other football continents, but the truth is that there are a lot of filler countries at the World Cup. I don’t mind it since talent seems to be growing in the other continents more and more and new and unique styles develop, especially in Asia, but they are a little bit behind.
So yeah, not a joke. It’s not like the Copa America where only 3 countries have any chance. Still not convinced? Look it up.

Doubt it, unlike Latins we don’t really make things personal. We leave emotions out of our daily decision making and we speak our minds even if it is considered rude. Van Gaal is in that regard the most Dutch of all.
I admit that we Dutch should probably be more careful when we interact with different cultures since our ways do not alway mix well. But thats not easy to do. Thats kinda like asking an Italian to stop using his hand when he is trying to explain something.
I don’t think that van Gaal does it on purpose. His directness is often mistaken for rudeness. He and South Americans are just a mismatch. But it doesn’t come from a place of hate.

I don’t think Van Gaal has a vendetta with South American players. He is someone who demands blind obedience and a willingness to play according to his tactics.
I say this with respect, but I think that a lot of South American players don’t match well with van Gaals style. South American players often do their own thing on the pitch, which can be great when it pays off, but it can also be a risk. Van Gaal doesn’t like risks and tries everything in his power to remove them. Hence this pattern of clashing with South American players.
You may not like his style and tactics, I mean even in the Netherlands we don’t always understand or like it, but it can’t be denied that he has had a lot of success with it in his career.

I doubt we would’ve qualified at all for the World Cup if we did it like that. We just don’t have the right type of players.
