- Here is my show! Let me know what you guys think! I always like to hear suggestions also. A couple of cakes didn't go off and the shells didn't go quite as planned, but it's not like the audience had a clue!

Had a large turn out and also had a lot of people not come too. The party was great regardless! Lots of food, yard games, catching up with old friends, and of course Fireworks! I already have a lot of ideas to make next year even better!
I had have a show that took place on June 29, July 5th, and July 6th to post as well. Not sure when they will get posted exactly, but they will get posted! Hope everyone had a safe and fun 4th of July!

Kids in the baclground is what makes a show. Every pro show i do, well any show i do, the cheering, ooh's and aah's is what makes it worth it. My favorite ive personally done is the college world series opening cermonies and the home run derby. Took a lot to setup, tons of work, but the stadium cheeeing at the emd of the show amd throughout made my hair stand up. And especially kids, their reactions are so pure and genuine. I love doing what i do. Great show, really, really good job!! Throw in some 1.75 salutes in the finale. They sell em in quite a few places in missouri and i can point you in the direction if needed. Anyway, fantastic job, great setup and good mixture of effects.
Also i cam tell you who to call if you want a case of the salutes. I got the connection whenni went to the PGI convention this past year. Got cases of them for 120 a case.

I had the same problem on the 4th.. LOL.. I got it fixed and now everything works good now!
Manual focus set to infinity
I'm actually a freelance photographer, and I can tell you that it's not necessarily the auto-focus that's the problem. If it was a high-grade, professional camera, then it had both, laser auto-focus, and digital, which work in conjunction with each other. However, you can now tell your camera, (since we now have smart cameras), to use one or the other, instead of both at the same time, if you choose to
Maybe he didn't have much experience with his camera, and it was a pro-sumer camera, which means it was just an amateur camera.
My guess is most pyrotechnics aren't great with a camera. It was still cool to watch, though!

This was so nice! U worked so hard to set all that up! This was very great, I give u 9/10 because there is always room for improvement, iwill leave that up to you to figure it out, because im looking forward to your 4th of July 2014, cant wait to see what u come up with!! I know it will be way better!
Good Job. I actually like the breaks in between. It gives the viewer to a chance to digest what they watched. Also I like how your show is very clean and not a huge mess. GREAT 10/10

Im watching this on the Corona Outbreak(2020) even its 6 years ago..in my country,Malaysia..there is a Festive Called Hari Raya Aidilfitri which is occur right now..that time people burning some cakes to lighten up and cheer up the night..BUT..in Malaysia
.normally the cakes only last long for 1minute..pretty satisfying to watch but its too short..then i discovered your channel..your content really awesome bro..17 minutes of continuous shots..i thought it only be 5 minutes and the rest you review how your fireworks done..yet,its till the end of the video..REALLY SATISFYING WATCH THESE CAKE LIGHT UP THROUGH THE BLACK SKIES..

No problem for whatever didnt light up, but believe me, that right there is the best i've seen for ages! keep it up champ, and never listen to haters! you did a splendid job over there!
Your use of the same shell effects going off at the same time really made it look professional. I loaded shells randomly and, while very cool, just looked like sky puke. That is important to have, just not all the time. By the way, my opener was a 20-shot rack of Critical Acclaim mines all fast fused. Try it, you will be amazed. Great show, and thanks for sharing.

To each his own. Maybe run things closer together time wise so there are no gaps and perhaps even some overlap. You don't have to go sky puke, but things can overlap more imo so a bit long, taking into consideration what was there. Depending on what is legal for you to do, perhaps scale back on the amount of cakes and put in 25-50 4"-6" shells, and start and end with five large non-titanium salutes (8" round or 6"x9" cans) seperated by about 1,5 to 2 seconds, makes for a fun opening and closing.

Naw I think it was perfect. Those little gaps are like little emotional breaks like in a song or something. Its like a work of art where you give it all you got then you take a second of a silence only to come back stronger. This was great buddy.

Dude that was awesome! Very well designed. It was very nicely symmetrical, that finale sky puke was a perfect ending to a sweet show, great job I know it was a ton of hard work! If you don't mind what cake was at 8:36 it was awesome, also the one at 9:55 that one was beautiful. Again great show very impressive, I'll have mine up with in the next few days if you would like to check it out. Also I would love to talk to about some shells I had I bet you'd love to get yourself some of them.
Hi Joel, impressive show! I really like you share all the steps that lead to this display. That makes it even more special. I got one big tip for the cameraman: I advise not to t use auto-focus, always use manual focus to get a clear picture. It's hard for a cam to determine what to focus on, so that always result in blurry fragments. For big fireworks displays that are at least a 1500 feet away you can set the manual focus on infinity. You are in control than instead of the 'guessing camera'.

Nice job! Hey I was in Hannibal Mo. On the 4th we shot off of lovers leap on the night of the 3rd we went to The Firework Superstore MAN! That store is freaking huge it's like the size of a Sams Club for fireworks..Talk to you later be safe out there.

Nice finish dude. That was a butt load of shells. May I recommend something? 2 wide fan effect cakes to spread it all out a bit. Kudos on the setup, and thanks for sharing the fun of setting it all up. I wish we were neighbors- we could have a lot of fun in 2014 ;)

Very nice skypuke finale. Next time I think you should get more of the fast fan shot repeater cakes like the "Amazing Ballet" that was a really unique and entertaining part in your show.

good point. I like to daisy chain some low cost 200g cakes with super fast fuse for the finale to fill things up below the big breaks. I like Bump Bear, they are super cheap and when you have 10 of those going off at the same time, it looks real good. I just posted my 2013 show. The bump bears are going off at 24:40. Let me know what you think.

Joel hey we do a firework show for a church and every year we get more and more people. We had over a 1000 people this year and I'd like to see your set up since you are using the same fireworks we shoot. Thanks
One thing that would be nice for us pyros is for you to overlay the names of the items going off while we are watching. Then we, and you, can re-watch anytime and know instantly which cake we liked best for future show planning. Just a thought.

You put on an awesome show. Better than many "professional" shows I have attended.
The Camera constantly going out of focus was rather distracting though. If your cameras auto focus can be de activated and set manually, you may get better results.
What's up man great show I'm new to this you tube realm but it's great a lot if fireworks and I love it I did some my self it turnt out great I'm gonna start posting some vids man but once again great show and though everything didn't go off as long as you guys were safe and no freak accidents happened like turned over racks your good man just add some salutes in there next year if you can get them 1.75 salutes are good right man PYRO 4 LIFE!!

Super impressive! I loved the pause and wait technique... they kinda realized after a while, that the show was not ending. I really liked it. Some of the comments on here are shocking... what a bunch of douche bags. Dude, keep up the good work. I wish my shows were timed this well. Is it legal to light off fireworks in your state?
This was a crazy cool display!!! It was well worth all the hard work that you put into it.
From 5:48 to 6:23 was my favorite part. It was a change of pace and the effect was pretty sick. Keep up the good work dude!!
The shows look professional and perfect as audiance points of view. However, if you can take my suggestions in action. The phandominium is best to shoot before the finale. (shells) watch closely as just before the few last shells of the finale rack, fire up the phandominium and 2 "WE WILL ROCK YOU" by "Big Fireworks". The final project is a little difficult to find but if you can have some group of volunteer to go into Canada and have it ship to U.S would be great which was either cherry bomb, thunder king, or other loud bang single shots. (familiar to thunderking) Begin by taking off all the plastic stands and form 30 rows of 20 shots together in an open box; (if possible) in between each row, there should be a cardboard paper the size of width and hight of the mortar tube. (this will prevent them from catching big fire towards the end of the shows. Make 2 cakes, (it should be up to 600 shots per box paper box) This will act as salute because salute required type 54 ATF license.
