Toy grades don't actually have an ESC in them, the PCB board has motor switches that power the 2 motors in a positive or negative direction. The forward-reverse motor get mosfets for more power from the battery tray\pack. Nice video!
I meant can motor above, where I accidentally said box motor, the can motor would face burnout on the extra voltage, not the box motor. Again, your friend, Jeff.
I'm getting this for My soon to be 10 year old Nephew. He will likely want more power, so I'm saving this video as I know I'm going to have to upgrade it for Him. Thanks!!
Thanks for writing this, as I’m also a radio control car fan!! What radio control cars I have are only toy 🧸 grade ones, but there’s a lot to be explored with them. 1️⃣ experiment, is for me to try 2️⃣-9-volt batteries in series, and change out the can motor for a box motor, which is found in miniature slot cars. I want a VERY FAST 💨 radio control car!! I know that a slot car set runs on approximately 22 volts, which the box motor in these cars can handle. The box motor in these radio control cars probably would face bearing burnout on 18 volts, with the combined 9-volt batteries in series. This may require a more hopped-up circuit board to avoid burning it out. I’d probably leave the steering servomotor the same, because I don’t need further improvement on the steering. My desire is to design a radio controlled car that can reach 45 MPH, or above. I’m probably going to face fried circuit boards, because they would also have to handle the extra voltage of the batteries. I won’t be surprised if I see my radio controlled car on fire, all because of my modifications. Could ya provide a few tips on upgrading the circuit boards? I think the gears ⚙️ will hold up to the extra speed, but that may also have me looking for a set of grippier tires. It would be absolutely 💯 AWESOME to do an Australian 🇦🇺 burnout, all from a hopped-up RC car!! The tires might actually smoke, but I’d want to be careful there!! Sorry 😞 about the long comment, but can ya let me know about the tips and tricks of hopping up RC cars. Your friend, Jeff.
Hi Jeff! As far as hopping up the circuitry I do have another video in the works for a Walmart car. But that’s a great suggestion! I could definitely do a video going over cheap electronics that I would trust to do the job!
Not using the same remote. the original receiver and ESC is all in one so to upgrade you need to get all new, but it's totally worth it! And once you have the new Remote, you can buy more receivers to go in other cars and they all work off one remote!
Dude thats awesome! reply to this comment if you end up posting a video on it. I'd love to see it! SCX24s are awesome! I have a couple. check out some of my other videos to see what i've done to them.
I just used a flat piece of plastic that I had laying around and cut it down to a rod like shape. No ball joints. Just a screw in the end to attach it to the steering arm and a screw in the servo horn.
Uhm hi will you still use the original receiver transmitter and can you send it to if you will and i always love your content you are the reason why i started this hobby thank you😊
@@makestuffbetter19 lol right if u still have the car can u do a video on how to do it. Cuz just picture u get it n u put road tires and it perform better
Use thing rubber tape. These wheels don't come off like hobby grade cars, but a thin layer of rubber tape will give you more traction, control & speed. Home Depot & Lowes sells the rubber tape.
It is 7.4v lipo battery used. I used a 850mah and it slightly over heated the battery (a little puffing) but with a 2200mah it seems to be totally fine.
These parts are very generic. The motor is the only part that you need to make sure is right. If the gt4r looks the same underneath it’ll most likely fit.

Would it be bad to disconnect drive shaft and let it be a rwd car?
My power craze dune buggy 2.4 GHz has proportional throttle and steering from Walmart
Are you using the same remote that came with the car? Or does the new receiver require its own brand remote?
Since he replaced the receiver, the original radio won't be compatible anymore.

Cut of extra weight, put rubber tape on plastic tires, go up a volt on batteries, add some heatsinks to mosfets, replace antenna on transmitter.

Can you do a video of the drifter plus RC upgrade Please I do not know what to do to upgrade it.
I do have a video of this card drifting. or are you asking for something else?
Can you tell me some higher voltage batteries for that stock kind of plug
The plug is called JST. Just check Amazon for some 3s batteries with JST Plugs.
Please tell me how it is possible to reset the car or what I should do, the same machine does not see the control panel
How many volts does the battery have and I have the same car and idk if it's safe to put a 7.4 volt in it
