People buys EV cars just only to reduce their running cost irrespective of using too many fancy features. EV cars running cost is approx Rs. 1 /km in comparison to ICE engine which is approx Rs. 6 /km for petrol cars and the biggest disadvantage of using EV cars are range anxiety. You cannot start a long drive without proper planning of charging stations. You have to take care of few things before starting your drive with EV cars-
    1. Ensure 100% charging of your car before starting your journey which almost takes 10-12 hours on home chargers. That means immediate or emergency rides are difficult to execute.
    2. Maintain a speed of 60-70 kmph to get good range which means your driving time will increase.
    3. You will avoid night hours journey due to range issues and poor charging infrastructure .
    4. You can not go more than average 250-300 kms in one go. Recharging is required. That means you have to take rest for approx 1.5 to 2 hours after every 200 km drive.
    5. Troubleshooting is really tough during any breakdown . You have to take your car only to service centre because local mechanic can't repair your car but for Petrol/diesel/CNG cars, you can easily find a local mechanic in nearby area .
After all these concerns, we are buying EV cars because of their low running costs ( approx Rs. 1 / km) and this savings gives us a happinees that we have completed our 1000 km journey only in Rs. 1000 irrespective to ICE engine cars which would cost approx Rs.6000 for same journey.
Now comes to MG windsor, which is definitely a good looking, bigger in size and feature rich car and may provide you a better feel and comforts but along with all these things our running cost will be Rs. 5 per km , if running is minimum 1500 km per month as your already calculated in your video and if you drove only 1000 km in a month then this running cost will be approx Rs. 7 per km ( 5200/1000 = 5.2 + 1.5 = Rs. 6.7 per km) which is higher than running cost of ICE cars.
After paying Rs.7 per km still we have to deal with same above mentioned 5 concerned of EV cars like proper planning, range anxiety etc.
Now tell us how MG windsor EV is beneficial for us because good features and looks are not only the priority of EV users. If someone doesn't care about running cost then i can surely say that he will never go for a EV car . He will purchase a better looking , bigger and more comfortable car even if it given low fuel efficiency.
EV cars are purely targeted for the users who are looking for low running cost.
Amd in my opinion TATA Tiago and TATA punch are better option in price segment of MG windsor which really gives you running cost of Rs. 1 / km.

I visited the MG dealership and they explained all financier options.
What I’ve understood is that 2 cos like Bajaj and H something are offering 1500 km fixed emi plan in which if you drive more than 1500km in a month then also emi will be 5250₹ only.
Third co named Vidhut is offering similar 1500km based emi but with a twist that if we run lesser than 1500km then emi will remain 5250₹ for that month but difference KM will be carry forward which can be adjusted in future emi. (But I couldn’t understand the logic of carry forward of credit if base charge is 5250₹ only)
Forth cos is for low CIBiL score people which I didn’t ask for.
Anyways, I booked by car at 21000₹ only so that introductory offers are available and waiting for other pricing to get declared.
I believe that for 50km per run is not unbelievable in metro cities with some 200km odd outstation travel. So makes sense for me considering features and benefits of the car.
We can always try to nick pick critics but BaaS is actually a workable option for many.

    To add more
    1. Long range issues.
    2. Don't buy any car, it's just a illusion.
    3. Owning a car is full of problem, just to save that 10-15 min required to book a cab or priority cab.
    4. No car means it will support environment.(Environment loss due to production)
    5. No parking and maintenance headache.
    6. Take a basic small car, less on maintenance yet serves the emergency purpose.
    7. Btw our cities are choked up badly, even in case of emergency one can use scooty to take the patient.

If we buy the battery after 5 years, how much it will cost after deducting the rental amount paid for such period? Will depreciation apply on battery cost? Will it attract any GST or additional cost? What is the cost of other varients? What is the price including battery? If it is a complete (car+battery) what is the warranty period on battery?

    • @fireinmyblood
      @fireinmyblood 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

all details on 3rd oct, cause new EV policy is coming in play... 1) the rental is not deducted from the total cost of the battery, so the cost of the battery for you will remain the same on the first day and after 5 years... it is a subscription model, i pay for netflix every month, but they dont give me stock options after 5 years...
2)no, because the company is providing u warranty on the battery... so battery should function the same on day 1 and after 5 years... what i understand when these battery are provided under warrenty the service center will provide u guidelines and ethicates on longevity, despite that if we encounter issue the battery is diagnosed and dead cells in the battery are replaced.
      3)3rd oct
4)and lastly, if the Complete down payment is made, then the battery get a 1.6lakh/8 year warranty...
we all in the same boat, i am also looking into this vehicle... from what i understand this is not a vehicle for ppl looking to buy a car @10lakhs... its a 15-18lakh car which the company will recover from customers over a period of time, since Indians prefer to buy bigger cars which they dont need on EMI, than choosing a vehicle within there means outright...

So what is the future of automobile market P+EV or just P or just EV. Now if its just fuel then the dependency is on the country's for buying, but when you see EV the only adv is the buying cost (P)will be 0, we have to still buy EC from big business giants and automobile brands. Economically which option will be best for customers.

Initially I thought this is a game changer. Then I realised, only a few people understand finance. It's nearly impossible to make them understand.
I would love to buy this car, but..
    1. I don't drive more than 10k kms per year, and the driving fluctuates heavily each month.
    2. I make a 600km drive 3-4 times a year. It needs two stops for charging to cover 600kms. A 400 kms actual range is needed.

    • @ironstag2849
      @ironstag2849 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Absolutely right.
The value proposition is good but it is really hard to make people understand.
The main issue is range of 250 Km.(Real Life) and mandatory rent for 1500km./month. most people drive around 10000 km./year so doubling that is way too much. they should have atleast offered a bigger battery pack option.

It seems like Club Mahindra holiday package which is very attractive on paper but when you start thinking that considering children priorities and other limitations, sometimes you cannot go on a vacation even for years. Tata 8 saal or 1.6 lakh kms tak warranty deti hai, similar scenario me base model of Windsor 10.5 lakhs onroad plus 8yrs ke 1500 kms per month ke hisab se 144000 kms, matlab approx 6 lakhs with GST ( paid to MG under subscription, considering 3.5 Rs per Km is constant for 8 years) that makes about 17 lakhs rupees ownership cost for base model of approx 280-300 kms range. Now based on above calculation, top model would cost about 20-21 lakh for 8 yrs. Which is almost matching the cost of Curvv 45 kwh model (it would still have higher running range though). Now some problems with subscription model ,1. The subscription will not be same through out 8 yrs at same rate. 2. Insurance companies will give costing based on whole car, and if car is stolen battery too will be gone. At that time company may void the warranty.

congrats on buying a Tata... we will take in 2 years when evs will be cheaper to own than cng with modern infrasture and you will be in CNG line with bajaj bikes...
