So apperently ALL of the new mutators are broken right now and make summons only hit crit. I thought that was only the case for spirit healer, and sadly I was wrong. So the damage I am dealing is more than it should be. But regardless all three builds will work well for the Future content. Your effectiveness against Empathy is also still good with the build because of the bleed and better status damage against enemies. Just be aware that the tiny bug currently in the game is much less tiny than I thought.
For anyone else trying the third build with the mist step evade now that the trait cap has been raised, here's some suggestions: You don't need stamina unless you like to spam axe throws, cooldown reduction doesn't seem that beneficial here, and it looked like 10 points in Barkskin only gave me around 3% damage reduction when I was already over 60% with armor. So I'd drop Endurance, Barkskin, Blood Bond, and Expertise and instead go with Swiftness, Footwork, Untouchable, Siphoner, Fitness, and Glutton. It feels like evasion traits do affect misty step but I can't confirm, and I might swap Fitness for Affliction when I finish leveling Ritualist. Also, I gotta go with Mk II Leto for fashion's sake, ~1.5% DR be damned. xD Tweaks aside, thanks for the video. After a couple of hours gathering the few pieces I was missing, I think I'm in for a smooth finish to my first Apocalypse campaign.
@@Lord-Darkness Boss fights are a battle of attrition, yeah. Only time I needed to use ammo boxes in 250+ hours of play was for the last few bosses in Root Earth on Apocalypse. I just used Merciless and Nebula, and Monarch after the dlc released.
I know that construction is for the apocalypse. It was actually with her that I finished my first apocalypse mode in the game. But since I started following you and building your building, the second one I use, now I'm the hero of veteran mode haha. Everyone dies except me. I've already killed 10 annihilations without dying in other players' worlds. Your construction is fantastic!! Thank you for that. I use number 2. I have absolutely every item from all of his builds, but I feel more comfortable in the second one I showed.
I've gone for a Medic/Challenger variation of this for multiplayer! With the 5 stacks of bullwork from Juggernaut + Relic use when within 10m of an enemy & using the Bisected Ring (infinite stamina 15% increased damage taken) with the Ornate Flail/World's Edge with the Steadfast Mutator for uninterrupted, 20% damage reducing charged Melee attacks! Unnecessary perhaps but I do like the idea of being almost unstoppable while spinning a fail above my head or firing off beams of energy xD The strong back perk combined with the twisted idol allows me to slow dodge but but I have infinite stamina so the cost do dodge is nill (IF & when even necessary)
Sent this to a buddy of mine who prefers to be the last one standing in the group on the higher difficulties while assisting us if the build allows him to do both. Helps keep my World's Edge greatsword character swinging!
Got this game from a friend a few days back. Immediately hated it, not a fan of souls games. Found your older Root Doctor video, buddy helped me through a campaign run.. and bam, addicted! I still don't have the full setup and honestly its not even required. The build just feels good and it moves pretty quick. Cant wait to get the better dodge I have a feeling that is going to be the biggest game changer.
Misty step especially after the armor changes is just the best. With infinite healing there is no downside. Oh and if I remember extra dodge distance affects the shadestep which is a fun trait to go into here and there.
I suck at dodging. The misty step dodge always used to get me killed as it removed more health that i could regen. Thank you for this build. I can finally not panic dodge as much as i used to and still do enough damage to kill bosses on Apoc. Subed...
Really appreciate the channel! I'd love to see build revisits and more builds .... but might as well wait the week or two until the DLC comes out. Really stoked about the new class and the combinations it'll allow.
I think the old build still works. Leto Mk.2 with Nimue's Ribbon, Dead Kings memento, Seal of the empress and Ring of the Forest spirit + one free ring slot (can go dmg or smthing like Lithic signet if you want more DR). You get around 60% DR, heavy dodge and are even more immortal than the 3 build options present thanks to the amulet overheal (be sure to pop it on full HP for max effect) :D You dont cap DR with armor but you dont need it since you can pretty much face tank anything and if not, the heavy dodge is always an option) If you need more DR, go Medic / Engi, pop a turret and thanks to the engi class skill Magnetic field you get 15% extra DR while near a turret + the 10% added bonus from the Blood Bond trait since turrets count as Summons (for some reason, and yes, you can also heal the turret ++ using a relic when turret is stowed, adds ammo to it so you can re-cast it sooner).
The stormbringer and the kill switch mods are providing a huge boost to your pet atm, though I'm sure you're aware of the current bug. However, it puts a stain in the build imo bc your numbers are greatly skewed while using summoner.
Not sure what you mean. I have not heard of any bug with either of these mutators. The only one broken is the spirit healer mutator. Which I did not use. This is the normal damage of the summons in game with no bug.
@SheenShots Spirit healer, kill switch and stormbringer are currently increasing summons pets and turrets and puppy by a large amount. It's my understanding that all the new mutators are bugged, but its the three I mentioned that give the most increases to your companions. I tested the three mutators I mentioned.
Could easily drop dead king's momento for Dull Steel ring to allow you to have a functional dodge. Could be helpful for the back to back ground stabs on Annihilation since the recovery time on flop is abysmal. Missing the timing on the first stab dodge could easily mean taking the second hit too.
I could talk all day about that fight on apoc. Dull steel ring would be a better solution or even misty step with doe sigil for the dodge ability and extra heal.
Honest question, why merciless with twisting? Doesn’t Merciless have bleed procs intrinsically? Also the reload is so long…with the Strombringer on Krell Axe would it make more sense to run a long gun with hot shot and twisting?
He said in the video but you get 2x bleed stack’s instead of 1 thus more bleed damage than just using merciless or twisting on its own which would only apply 1x stack of bleed.
The main reason is that bleeding reduces the amount of healing bosses receive. If you think 1 stack of bleed is good at this... then 2 is much better. SO with merciless you easily apply bleed no matter what and greatly improve your ability to take down empathy, regenerator, and several other affixes. Ultimately it doesn't matter though. You will survive the fight regardless so use what feels right and its not a big deal.
Sadly highest total possible armour with armor pieces decreased sicne labyrinth glvoes were fixed on antoher not, participation medal offeers a great alternative since besides 10% DR it gives 10 health, 10 stamina and 10% movemnt speed, which is great when you can only flop dodge, curious if it outperforms the navigator pendator sicne while it gives 10 less health and stamina it offers 10% dr and movements speed.

As I am still fairly new to game and it will be a bit before I can squire worlds edge which weapon do you suggest for flying bosses? I have a Stonebreaker but its charged attack is ground affect only.
Build 3 is definitely my favorite one. Shade step is extremely fun on tank builds. Also I gotta ask but do you plan on putting out a V2 of your Final Spartan build?
@SHEENSHOTS I put on the exact same setup up, however my numbers aren't matching up on build #3. (218.7 Health relic shard is flawless +4) (315.3 Armor - Mythic) (Weight is 88.5) (DR is 10% and Armor DR is 61.2% and Total Armor DR is 65.1%) Is that because of a patch or something? I know the video is from 2 months ago, but I started playing R2 last month and was just wondering.
Nice! Is there a chance you will be revisiting more of your builds? Final Spartan, Space Tech, Misty Demon and Savior build come to mind as being some of my go to. I have been playing for a long time now and find myself looking for some updated Apoc light weight builds with a bit of survivability and good dps as they are the most fun and satisfying to play. For example one of my builds uses hyperconducter, devouring loop and lots of crits to keep the invader dodge active during fights. Love you content🫡
Ive happened upon a build similar to #2 but i always took Rugged Trait versus Endurance and Burden of the Divine versus Ring of the Forest Spirit and it still works great while not letting the summon die(Also obviously different weapon setup(Sporebloom n Silverback)).
I managed to beat the game on the Apocalypse difficulty today with Build 3. Medic as primary + the overhealing relic is just busted. You even get to regenerate relic charges while mist stepping with the Ring of Omens. Just crazy. Also tried modifying the build so I’d have less HP but get to use more fun weapons and damage rings and it still works.
Does ring of the Forrest spirit no show up in the stats or is there a cap on healing effectiveness? In the stats it doesn’t say it adds anymore effectiveness
for 2nd build surely Navigator's pendant is better than the rusted one? you get more health and stamina. the -5 armor encumberment don't really matter since you're flopping either way
This is close to how I changed the root doc to fight final boss I used Engineer turret and feastmaster's ring to take extra tonic instead of deadman ring you get more out of tonic deadman just gives 15 health but That's it mist step makes dodging easy and the turret does the killing it worked months ago and still works now it's even better atm with broken mutators 😮 (last build)
recommend a viable Alchemist/Explorer and Invoker/Ritualist build for Apocalypse solo boss rush gauntlet. Need it badly to avoid getting one shotted by Red Prince and other bosses
Personally I don't play explorer. Invoker/Ritualist is very easy. Run max cooldown on skills with the detonation trigger amulet. Equip krell axe with tainted blade and there you go. Probably the best boss rush build in the game.
I’m curious, would Nimue’s Ribbon be a good sub for the Red Doe Sigil? You get a constant +50% relic healing effectiveness and haste on top for 25s after, but the downside would be flop dodge. What are y’all’s thoughts. You would still be getting inside dr and healing even if you’re willing to trade off the dodge,
Actually yes it is a good option. Because then you could run a different ring instead of omens and get even more health or defense. if you don't mind the flop, the constant 50% extra health effectiveness is really powerful.
sooo which one do i use in co-op to heal my friends ? cause the old build with leto was good with my friends.... but i love the mist build, if i take out dead king momento ?
I would recommend either of the last two with just kings momento ring swapped out for the team heal one. Should do the trick and if you find a boss that can take you down, switch to the crystal heart and your problems are solved.
Corrupted merciless is really bad unless you have very large weakspots. And it is also recommended to use the abrasive whetstone amulet with that gun which we can't throw on here. corrupted merciless needs to be builds around a lot while merciless just deals damage and is beneficial since it applies quick bleed.
Hey idk if your reading this but is there something changed with the healing for the medic to heal teammates but doesn't heal them like it used to with that heart like is it bugged I remember when I used resonating heart it would put a timer on my teammates to heal them like me n used it again when it was like under 10s but idk what change or what happened so I had to asked sry for the long message
There is a ring that boosts this. Burden of the divine. Without that you will not heal your teammates as quickly as you can yourself. Other than that I don't think there are major changes that affect team healing. At least as far as I know.
If you are trying to keep a team alive as well you will want to throw on Burden of the Divine: All damage dealt by wearer is reduced by 10%. 50% of self healing applies to allies. Just switch out one ring for that and you should be good to go.
I haven't played in a while but using the crystal heart I think is better Also I'm unsure there was a glitch with the unburnt boss where if you use the enigmas mod and hit the pouch on the boss it will basically instant Kill the Boss don't know if this is still a thing
@@SheenShots To be fair you can just rely on the msit dodge spam for movement since crystal heart guarantees so much healing. I am actually curious of a sped comaprison between spamming diferent dodges and running absedon whether you invested in ovement speed, dodge range traits or not.
The medics prime perk grants you relics back when you heal. So take damage and you just end up with infinite relic charges. Pretty cool with the resonating heart because it heals for so long and really well.
Can't believe you wouldn't want to take advantage of Fetid Wounds with this build because you'd easily get the full 15% why not swap out kill switch on the Nebula? I realized the double corrosion is probably redundant but the 15% Crit has to be better than kill switch no?
Fetid may not have been in the game at this time. As for that mutator it doesn't matter much. Neither does anything super valube as your crit chance isn't going to be much better with a 15% bump. And kill switch is at best okay. After DLC 2 you want to run Maelstrom on Nebula pretty much exclusively instead.
Kinda sad that tank build let you be invulnerable to 99% of attacks while dealing 50% of the damage of full dps builds that get one shot. yeah damage is low but you dont need to learn any movesets, or really even play with that much intent. I feel like there needs to be a rebalance to make dps builds not get one shot by a sneeze on anihilation.
I just came back to this game and all tank builds are clearly nerfed now. They aren't as good as they used to be. It's almost worthless. I have almost the exact same set up as you, in fact i have stronger arm gloves, and SOMEHOW all my stats are lower than you. This is garbage. Not worth playing anymore.
ur such a baby dude😂 i just made this build too and yeah, its nerfed. so? it still works, its just not overpowered as shit and abusing systems in the game they never intended to be able to be abused by certain gear interactions. I was playing survivor, made this build, and immediately started running through nightmare and im having very little trouble. they balancing they did to this build just makes it so you still have to actually *play*, and arent "unkillable" anymore, just very tanky and very mobile
@@twinkieinyomowf6033youre such a smooth brain kid. In game you will get randomly 1 shot by the same attacks you can easily tank in the very same fight from bosses. Either bug or cheap mechanics introduced. I had max health, max armor, max healing all active and went down without any of the bars depleting. Some of the relics aren't even healing, i had to use my relic 3 TIMES for it to activate. Half the time my character would do the relic use animation and nothing would happen. Or the healing wouldn't not work right.
@@twinkieinyomowf6033if i build a tank. i want it to work as a TANK, not a glass build. Because i sacrificed all damage for survivability. Even glass cannon builds don't work anymore, old builds that dealt big damage now have a minimal damage buff at most.

@Citrine thank you it was that I confused fortify with barkskin
Fortify makes a huge difference honestly. Easy to miss armor if you don't throw that one on.
This is so awesome
How am I still flopping after having the ring of Omens on?? Am I missing something?
Need Doe Ammy on as well.
Build 3 still good?
You bet.
I still dont get how does he get the relic charges back
Medic as prime makes it so any damage to your health then healed, recharges a relic.
what build do you recommend the most
1 2 or 3
3 is by far my favorite
@@SheenShots what mutation and mods for weapons
so you don't need heal effectiveness anymore ?
the regen effect of the heart don't seem to apply to my friend when we play any ideas on why?
If you are trying to keep a team alive as well you will want to throw on Burden of the Divine:
All damage dealt by wearer is reduced by 10%. 50% of self healing applies to allies.
Just switch out one ring for that and you should be good to go.
I haven't played in a while but using the crystal heart I think is better
Also I'm unsure there was a glitch with the unburnt boss where if you use the enigmas mod and hit the pouch on the boss it will basically instant Kill the Boss don't know if this is still a thing
Yep, Crystal Heart is another fantastic tank option.
@@SheenShots To be fair you can just rely on the msit dodge spam for movement since crystal heart guarantees so much healing. I am actually curious of a sped comaprison between spamming diferent dodges and running absedon whether you invested in ovement speed, dodge range traits or not.
I also prefer crystal, but only if I'm using shadestep.
How do you get 300+ armor? Can't get past 230
They nerfed these builds and made tanks practically useless.
I dont know if this was months ago. But I got 371.5 armor with full Leto 1 set..
I may have missed it or misunderstood but is there a way to get back relics?
Erm, what the scallop
Do I have too use the gauntlets for this build??
No the gauntlets are a recent change. You can just run the ones with highest armor now.
What mutator are you using on nebula?
he’s using the new kill switch mutator, shows it in the last 15-ish seconds of the video
How do you have 10 fortify trait on the full build? You don't use engineer
Once a class is fully leveled you can use that trait any time you like.
how you get that 230 hp? most i can get its 189 hp
A team build?
Just thtow up burden of the divine
What is the armor
I tried to copy your build to the T but cannot for life figure out how you end up with 230 health while I end up with 201.2
Okay nvm its the concoction.
is burden of the divine bad for this?
No, it is a good option for a full team
How do u get that green bar?
Make medic your primary class
What up supa fam?
Does this build still work?
Yes this build is very much viable.
@@SheenShots Can you tell me if there is a build similar to this that has more damage?
Am I stupid or i still have 20 points to use after investing those traits?
So play with a friend over useing the sommon heal ur friend profit win
Against Sentinel's Keep I can confirm this doesn't work.
So change up the items and relic like I mentioned. Watch the full video my guy.
Is root dr patched?
No, it still works. The original version has been modified though due to armor and trait changes.
Please please im waiting for root doctor 3.0 for dlc3 update your build 🎉❤
All this has been nerfed now. lol
❤
Dude stop telling people the other gauntlets have higher armor they don't
They did before. The game has been updated several times since the video to change that aspect.
they've all been nerfed HARD.
Dude stop being an ignorant fool that can't realize the difference between the game when he posted the video and when you came across it and started spouting bs
I can’t even look at this game, completely trash
GAME OF THE YEAR 1000%🤧
