I lived in Okinawa for 7 years, but unfortunately had to move back to the states. I hope to move back soon. This video has brought back so many memories, especially the way you styled and edited the video, in the most calming, peaceful manner there is, a very nice break from how flashy and loud TH-cam is. Lived in Okinawa Japan for two years for the military 2020-2022. Such a beautiful place. Aquarium was amazing. Loved driving to Naha and Nago. The arcades and thrift shops were so fun too. Such a small island but with so much to do. Glad you both enjoyed it!
I still talk about Naha. Kokusai street, Udou & Platy. Damn man, I need to go back!

I just want to say how inspiring even these vlogs are. Like…the fact that you went on a trip and had a bad weather and you didn’t let it bother you and found other activities to enjoy…I’m still learning to enjoy the present, even if i have all planned out and it doesn’t work out the way that I wanted, then at the end of the day it’s all about the perspective.

That sea view looks straight out of a Ghibli movie. Gorgeous!
It's so nice to see how a positive attitude and "going with the flow" can make what some people would call a disaster (not seated together on the plain, weather forcing the cancelation of certain plans) a really pleasant trip. They found other fun things to do, enjoyed the island, and didn't throw a fit. People like this make TH-cam actually fun. Thanks for being normal, respectful, grateful human beings.
Not even trying to be hyperbolic but throwing a fit about something so menial/small is an American thing for sure.
A lot of times, a trip's highlight would be the sudden change in itinerary and getting to explore. What matters is staying safe and having some fun.
@@sirdamned9272 100% it is. I’m Australian and went to Japan during typhoon season in 2018. Alarms kept us up all night and everything was canceled the next day due to the typhoon about to hit its peak. In the morning we walked around Kyoto, visited some local shops and ate ice cream and when the typhoon got stronger in the afternoon, we stayed in the hotel and played games with the staff and our friends. It was chill as. Next day we picked up where we left off and enjoyed the rest of our trip.

So devastating that a large part of the castle was destroyed by a fire. It's frustrating that structures like that were able to survive numerous wars and climate change, yet it just takes one simple electric fire to take it down. It was really awesome that Felix and Marzia participated in volunteering in the reconstruction. I know Felix said he's not sure if they did much, but I'm confident that every little bit brings the island one step closer to reconstructing and rebuilding the structure.
It was destroyed 4 times previously (1453, 1660, 1709, 1945). Also what climate change has to do with it?

I think there are just a few castles in japan at most that didnt get rebuild multiple times. Fires, Earthquakes or just the normal ageing of the materials over time ( most of them is build from wood ) makes it necessary to restaurate or rebuild this structures.

I used to watch both marzia's and pewds' vlogs back then and it was fun to see the difference in how they vlog. Marzia's vlogs are pretty and calming while pewds' vlogs are funny. But now, I love how they combined both of their charms in making these videos.💖

It's such a shame, I was going to be spending a week in Okinawa in February. Of 2020. Needless to say that trip never happened. Hopefully soon, though! Glad you guys had fun, Felix!
Why not? Everything was open until late March.
I went last year in late August no jab, and the trip was amazing. Deffo going back again this year aswell hope you get to visit sometime its beautiful.😮💨

its been a year and 11 days since I PCS'ed out of Okinawa, and ive had flashbacks of my 5 years over there. Me and my wife miss it every chance we think back on it. I also miss Kamisushi. I miss you, Kaichou!!!

Thanks for the tour, Felix and Marzia! We just got back from Ishigaki/Sakura/Tokyo. It was our first time, and it was glorious (we made our own tour video) Lucky for us (my son and I) we had my partner, Mana, translate - otherwise, we would've been communicating with hands and feet!

This vlog made me actually tear up and made me so happy. I've deployed 3 times out to Okinawa and they were some of the best times I had while I was in the military. I was actually happy and the atmosphere Definitely helped with that. It's amazing how much they have fit on the island. I miss the beautiful beaches and the vending machines with Georgia Coffees at every corner. I hope one day I could go back
I've been stationed in Okinawa for almost two years now on Camp Hansen. Seeing Felix visit the same aquarium that I've visited multiple times with my close friends was surreal. I have to agree with you that Okinawa is such a beautiful place. I am going to miss the endless beaches, lush greenery, solemn mountains, and the quiet culture of Okinawa whenever my time comes to leave. I consider myself so lucky to be here.

I miss Okinawa and I definitely took my time there for granted. I really wish I took in more of my culture and spent more time with my mom's side family regardless of the language barrier. I was just so shy when I was little that I just ignored a lot of the things that pulled me out of my little comfort bubble. Like I spent my time on base a lot, went to school on base, didn't feel like I went out that much, and one I regret most was I never learned to speak Japanese. Now that I'm older I regret not experiencing more and I definitely miss it and my family there.
It definitely hits some type of way of seeing Pewds in Okinawa, especially when me and my friends used to watch him, Mark, and Jack a lot when we were living there.

I grew up for 6 years of my life in Okinawa. Hope to make it back again someday, but the island and history of Okinawa is beautiful and definitely worth the trip for anyone wanting a Japanese experience with a tropical island feel.

@@rusa2195 Pretty sure his main quest-line is the one that had him meeting Marzia, getting married, and now having a kid on the way. Everything else has been side quests... just leveling him up beyond the needed requisite for the main quest-line.

I hope you are prepared to have a child. Seems like a good idea but now you have a person who will be dependent on you for 15-16 years financially. As a fellow 23 year old, I don't know how you have the money to afford having a child.

I went on a pretty spontaneous trip to Japan in 2018 and after seeing your video back then, I made sure to visit Okinawa as well. I wasn't sure what to expect, didn't have a driver's license either. Even almost decided not to go when the day before I would fly there, all flights were cancelled because of a typhoon. It ended up being one of the best trips ever with some of the best weather. I explored so much by foot, went on a ferry to a smaller island to go snorkelling, had awesome food while chatting with the restaurant owner and saw Shuri castle. I didn't even know it burned down the next year until now, such a shame. I would've never thought to go to Okinawa if not for your video so thank you :)

After living there for 5 years, it makes me happy to see people experience it too! The aquarium is the absolute best. Never been to another that’s as beautiful as the one in Okinawa.
