NATO does not fight for freedom, it fights for corporate world domination...for the German banking system...just like the USA...nothing but abuse and war and control...nothing to do with freedom, just the military industrial complex...that paid for most of the comments on this offensive sick video.

You obviously are not familiar with Big Brother as a metaphor used in George Orwell’s book 1984 or you wouldn't use that phrase. It has bad connotations of totalitarianism, something Germans have an intimate history with Hans.

@@AnnStoddard he doesn't mean as a surveillance state (like big brother is watching you).

    • @LFGerm
      @LFGerm ปีที่แล้ว +20

@@AnnStoddard You can see it in context of George Orwell’s book - or you can see it in context of what probably many Anglo-Americans see it in. The bigger brother protecting the little brother against school yard bullies. Context and interpretation depend on the individual and are subjective. One does not always have to see everything in a negative light.
The term "Big Brother" is not soly coined and patented by Orwell.

Straight from Council on Foreign Relations:
Today some NATO member states can no longer be described as liberal democracies but instead demonstrate the traits of competitive authoritarian regimes. The characteristics of such administrations include free but unfair national elections, an erosion of checks and balances on political power, laws that are simply rubber-stamped by the legislature, loss of an independent judiciary, curtailed media freedoms, a stifling of civil society, and severe limitations placed on academic freedoms. Turkey and Hungary can be more accurately labeled as competitive authoritarian regimes, while Poland is gradually moving in the same direction.

Prussia, Austria & Russia were once the land Powers, and Britain was the Naval Powera of Europe. France, Venice and Ottomans (Turks) had been relegated to Middle Powers by the time America started rising.
Without Prussia, Britain and Russian backing there'd be no unified Germany.
If a war were to break out in Central Europe, France would never side with a militarized Germany.
A land battle in Europe would most likely boil down to Anglo-Americans (UK&US) vs Franco-Russia. Germany and Poland being the battlefield.

it makes one just desperate and crying.
We had to serve compulsory military service towards the end of Cold War,
we there learned about the scenarios of aggression (that we can see now almost exactly executed on screen in Ukraine),
the power we learned to defend against has been called SovietUnion, but we called them in short "Russians",
we had an incredible apparatus with incredible machinery developed against that,
    these "Russians" fell apart,
we learned, that they are in fact mostly many different beautiful people with no other aims as ours,
we helped the remaining Russian Federation with credits and offered them partnership to NATO and within European Organizations,
we partnered up with other people of the former SovietUnion,
some of them got our friends within the EU and after a short and limited period of getting nursed they are now partly driving forces,
we have been reluctant and appeasing during more than a decade of Russian increasing aggression and imperialistic endeavors,
we took regarding Ukraine the path we thought would be least risky for all,
we continued business with the Russian Federation culminating in a new gas pipeline.
Now for almost 16 moths we watch images of mass destruction, mass murder, mass drowning, children deportation, hospital bombing, torture, raping, looting - and losing - we never ever expected before,
and watch such reports about "military might",
    read cheers in the comments,
discuss how this RuZZia would fail against that NAT0,
instead that we care about our beautiful planet,
our unsolved real issues on it
and maybe one day just enjoy life.
    How sad.
    What an epic derailment.
    How pre-stone-age.
    By the way:
I am happy about such an exercise and hope it helps optimizing these forces...

NATO combined airpower is about 20 times that of Russia. I m pretty sure Russia is aware of this. Combined NATO operations are good training exercises I suppose but I m not sure why Russia has to respond to NATO training exercises. It s not like NATO is a secret alliance or anything. As for official war between NATO and Russia, to be precise activation of NATO article 5, if things ever get to that, the issue is not one of conventional warfare military power that NATO is 20 times stronger, but the nuclear war potential of such a conflict that is catastrophic for everyone.

They are mostly helicopters but it is airpower as well. The same applies to the rest of the NATO countries not just US.
