I have no problem paying an entrance fee. 🙂 It will be interesting to see how it all works out.

I don't get it: are you for or against restricting turist access? Cause you seem to be contradicting yourself.

It's not so simple, like in many human dilemmas, if tourists or no tourists. This actual receipe by the mayor seems by far not usefull to take care of Venice but to "take care " of other things. What does it mean "from 8:30 to 4:00 pm but if you don't sleep there"? If you do this to have less people it's strange because one can enter at 8:00, and there's a lot o people who sleep in Mestre (for exemple few km from Venice), or in other hand if everybody now goes sleeping in Venice then you will have more people... I mean this rule don't make sense in one way or the other = to let enter less tourists or more tourists. The thing is that may be the first step to block entering. And let enter only people who CAN pay (raised entrance fee, not actual 5 euros). Other thing is that we can't live in a world ruled only by QR codes controlling your every move. And final cities in Italy are free territories where people, in first place Italians, have the right to circulate and going where they like. Venice it's not a private club! Must be open to everyone, with respect, equilibrium and good sense.
