Dude, I screamed "NOOOOO" when you ate chvarci like some candy out of bag. They are tasty as f but you should eat them with bread and salt at least because they are so greasy. They are basically made from fried pork meat and fat (mostly fat). And pronunciation is killing me. Its not burAK but burEk. So its not A like in pAncevo but E like in bEograd. Our alphabet has one great rule where one letter is one sound and no combination of letters (like in English) will make them different sound. That should help you greatly with pronunciation of our words in general.
I wasen't planning on buying those. I didn't even know what they were. I just seen many people buy some. I had no idea how to eat them. Thanks for the pronunciation tip.
@Greg Gaming Sounds good but i'm here for a limited time. I'm gonna stick to the tastier foods like sarma and all that. cvarci can't compete with that stuff. :)
@@EvanRamani They can compete with anything if they are of best quality, such ones you can only find home made and it's very rare, but as I've said such ones are top ten food, it's nothing like those you ate, it's literally candy
Mate before open ,,Jogurt'' shake him 5-6 times. Good video and i love to see u when u ask some ppl how much and answer is ... on Serbian lang. and u understand. Speak Serbian let the whole world understand you. 😂(Serbian joke)
Dear, we all love čvarci (chvarcee), but you need to have some nice fresh bread with them. It is basically just pork fat, burned pork fat, but it helps your blood goes smoother (: hi hi hi Anyway, get some fresh bread, onions, fresh onions and chvarci... and of course cold rakija (: that's the proper and the whole meal... (:
@@EvanRamani I love your random walks, without reading and checking... I guess that triggers most of the comments here, and it is the best way to learn about the local food, customs and so... For sure most of those who watch it, they are like - nooo... you should take this and that... or - don't buy that one, get another.. and so (: but you have fun and for sure you are enjoying your journey around Serbia...
@@TheAndjelika Thank you. :) ya, i mean, i know that many people are picky lol. It doesn't bother me. making mistakes and being an idiot can't be avoided in the videos haha.
in Serbia and UK -> yogurt is drinkable, liquid... in most other worldwide counties you need a spoon to eat it. So in Serbia when you ask for yogurt, you will drink it, but then in the non-liquid form, you have to ask for -> Kiselo mleko. ;) Enjoy!
Ya, it is delicious. I didn't expect it. I expected it to taste like the yogurt in the US, i usually ate FAGE yogurt, but this was way way better than any yogurt sold in stores in the US. I can only think of one yogurt that i've had that beat it but that was homemade from an old lady in MI. :)
I once bought yogurt seeing people drink it, I thought it was milk and I wanted milk so I drank it and almost threw up because it was like Spoiled sour milk! LOL
It's like when I came back from living in Germany in the 80s. I thought my friend was dipping french fries into Cream Gravy, when in fact it was a thing called Ranch Dressing which I never heard of til I came back to the US. My tastebuds backflipped until it sorted out the total difference of substance
Loved the burek mispronunciation, haha. Btw, Burak is a Turkish male name, so when you said "Totally ghetto, this is not how I imagined trying my first Burak", couldn't help it but laugh a bit. Ok, I'll stop now 😂😂
@@EvanRamani I am Serbian living in Canada. Cevapi, pljeskavice, burek, sarma, ajvar, leskovacka muckalica, mesano meso, punjena pljeskavica, gurmanska pljeskavica, mileram, slatkisi. To probaj my man!
@@EvanRamani Чварци cvarci is what you get when you melt bacon to get pork fat, if you observe pork fat as the byproduct, it's actually not fried but melted... they can have such effect when you don't eat it with bread... when eating with fresh, steaming bread, only then does the flavour appear... noone mentions to try gibanica pie, the traditional dry circular pie with cheese and spinach or similar. Probably because it is rarely offered to buy as it is made for a long time, unlike burek
Would you ever buy flowers on the Times Square from a street vendor and start offering them to random Newyorker girls on the street? What do you think would happen?
BurEk with E not burak :) best bakeries are "Evropa" "Sajam" and "Klas" Klas is 5m where you buy flowers :) and you can`t eat čvarci without bread that is pig belly fat and that are not donuts that are pogačice sa čvarcima :)
Depends on your lifestyle I guess. If you live like a normal person and don't spend your money on Gucci and all that, ya, it's enough lol. An apartment is about $500 a month. So, 3400 euros is more than enough.
I did look up how to eat burek...the other purchase was not planned. Plus, i had no idea what they are. Also, i'm still new man. I learn best thru experience. :) Thanks for the tip though
I like how the girl frowned when you gave her flowers.
Thx for supporting locals brother. Живео!

Beautiful Serbia.
So glad to see someone say something besides"This is amazing/incredible/very good/fantastic" always no matter what they eat. Keep it real man!
Thank you! :)
Burek and yogurth best thing together because burek is a little fatty, love your videos
Thank you! The yogurt was one of the best i've had. So good!
Men giving flowers in Serbia to stranger was unexpected...
pork cracklings, and "donut" is just pastry with minced cracklings.

I think it's pork skin. But anyway, I love pigs and I'm a vegetarian for many years.

hahaha! i know!
You tried pork scratchings, they are good with beer because of the salt and fat content.
Have nice time 👍☺️

I’m hungry 😋 Burek i Jogurt
a cold beer with the pork rinds is very good!
They weren't the best on their own. I guess you do need a beer with em lol
damn i was actually impressed that you are starting to learn some letters like p=r c=s etc.
lol didnt notice that. Thanks.
They think you're tryin to sell the flowers.
Hahahaha that was hilarious Bro!
Thank you Joey! :).
You need to eat:
1. "Riblju Čorbu"=fish stew
2 .Gulaš
3.Punjene paprike
Go to: Štrand... Beach!
Go to the fortress and you have under it the tunnels.
Thank you!
Those are pork rinds. And the bread is dough with pork rinds.
Not the best things you can eat in Serbia. There are SOOOO many other options that are DELISH! :) The locals seem to love em though.
