  • Is there such thing as a ghost?
    Ecclesiastes 9:5-6, 10
    Job 14:10-12
No. When people die, they are fully dead.
    Revelation 16:14
How is the Devil able to deceive people into thinking they see a ghost?
The devil is able to perform miracles. Therefore, it is possible that he can make himself appear as though he is a dead love one.
Do we go to heaven when we die?
    Psalm 115:17-18
No. If those who died went to heaven, the first this they would do would be to praise God. Yet the Bible says they do not.
    Acts 2:29, 34
When people die, where do they go?
    To the grave
    Genesis 2:7
    What is a soul?
A person. A soul is not some spirit that lives inside us. We are the soul.
    Is a soul immortal?
    Ezekiel 18:20
No. If we sin, we will die.
    Is there life after death?
    1 Thessalonians 4:16-18
Yes. When Jesus returns, He will resurrect those who are righteous. And they will live forever
    How is this good news?
Are you willing to give your life to Jesus, so that one day, you will be resurrected?

      Hear answers from our Redeemer Himself whom you call Jesus, at the bottom of this comment is more of the Word of the Lord spoken to this generation;
"11/15/04 From The Lord, Our God and Savior
The Word of The Lord Spoken to Timothy
For All Those Who Have Ears to Hear
(Regarding the state of the dead[1])
Thus says The Lord: All people sleep in death, both those who have done good and those who have done evil. In no way are they among the living, nor are they aware. They know nothing at all, for all their thoughts have perished with them. All remain at rest, until the day I call them to awake; some to the first, the resurrection of life, and many more to the second, the resurrection of judgment. Blessed and holy are those who take part in the first resurrection. For over them the second death[2] has no power, as it is written.[3]
      You have heard it said:
To be absent from the body
Is to be present with The Lord[4]...
      This saying is true...
For all those who die in Messiah will
Indeed look upon Him at the Last Day,[5]
Yet it will be to them as the blink of an eye...
For the dead know not the passage of time,
Nor do they know they have fallen asleep...
Thus there is indeed life after death,
Yet during death there is most certainly not.
For I tell you the truth, if there is life during death, as it is commonly taught amongst the people, then none truly die. And if all have the victory over death, then all are like The Messiah; thereby making The New Covenant useless and the resurrection of no effect. This teaching is false, denying both the sacrifice of The Messiah and the Word of God. For if none truly die, then The Messiah is no longer the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. And if He is not the first to be freed from death and the grave, then The Messiah did not die. And if The Messiah did not die, then the power of sin has the victory and the grave has become your final resting place, leaving you with no hope of salvation.
Yet the Scriptures do not lie. The wages of sin is death;[6] from the beginning, I declared it! And yet the churches continue to stand divided against themselves, corrupting My Word as they fall in line with satan, deceiving and being deceived, preaching, “You will not surely die,”[7] teaching that which runs contrary to the Scriptures.
Therefore, hear the Word of The Lord, O foolish and deceived generation: If as you say, there is no death and all continue on as living spirits, whether it be in Heaven or in hell or in some other place, then you also say there is no God and no Savior who was sent to save you from the penalty of sin, which is death.
Where then does that leave you? You are lost, a people without hope, multitudes of deceived people waiting for their own inevitable destruction, a creation wrought in vain! Yet The Messiah did indeed pay the penalty for your sins, even unto death... He is risen, The Firstborn from the dead; by which you are also delivered from death, if you so choose to receive of His life, if you so choose to embrace Him as He truly is!
For He alone will stretch out His hand in that day
And lift His beloved from the grave, in which all must sleep,
Save those who remain awake at His coming, as it is written[8]...
And behold, the time is indeed coming, when all
Who are in the grave will hear His voice and come out...
Those who have done good, to the resurrection of life...
And those who have done evil, to the resurrection of judgment...
      I AM THE LORD."

Yeah great passage. Although we may die physically like Jesus' friend Lazarus, we will be resurrected one day. Jesus did say that Lazarus was dead. But his death was like a sleep. In other words. He was going to wake up. So we believe in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 that although we have a sleep like death. If we die in Jesus we will resurrect when Jesus returns.

Death is said to be silent and as the darkness. It's called the land of forgetfulness. The dead cannot thank, cannot praise, cannot hope; all feats that require mental faculties to be accomplished. In Sheol, there is absolutely no declaration of God, or of His faithfulness/graciousness, or of anything He performs. When we die, our spirits depart to God who gave it, and we return to the dust from which we were taken; consequently, our thoughts perish altogether. And most of all, the dead know naught; they have no knowledge, wisdom, thinking, or work in the place where they are.

    • @SaaS-Guide
      @SaaS-Guide 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@SDASermons That wasn't a parable. You should know that, because when Jesus used a parable to teach, he would "liken it to something else or situation":
"The Kingdom of God is like..." or " We can liken the Kingdom of God to..." or " For the men of this generation are..."
He always made sure those listening knew he was giving a parable.

@@SaaS-Guide The story of the rich man and Lazarus is a parable by Jesus. It's very important to not take some things at face value. The story is full of symbols that are not to be taken literal such as the rich man asking Abraham to send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool his tongue. Keep also in mind that the rich man represents the Jews who prided themselves that they were Abraham's seed.
(John 8:39) "They answered and said unto him [Jesus], Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham."
This was the reason for Jesus stating in the parable how the rich man (who represents the Pharisees/Jews), called Abraham his father when he wasn't. The man Lazarus is Jesus himself in that parable.
Luke 16:21 "And desiring to be fed with crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores."
Psalm 23:16 KJV "For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they have pierced my hands and my feet."
Then Jesus said in Luke 16:31
"And he said unto them if they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead."
This was fulfilled in Matthew 27:62:64 KJV
"Now the next day, that following the Day of the preparation, the chief priests and Pharisees came together unto Pilate, saying, " Sir, we remember that that deceiver said while he was yet alive, 'After three days I will rise again.' Command therefore that the sepulcher be made secure until the third day, lest his disciples come by night and steal him away, and say unto the people, 'He is risen from the dead,' so that the last error shall be worse than the first."
You see, Jesus was taking a parable in which the Pharisees could relate to and understand, but this is nothing more than a parable not based on an actual event. The Word of God does not teach at all that the lost immediately receive their rewards at death. Rather it teaches that a time of Judgment is reserved for the lost in which they shall be brought forth to the day of wrath (Job 21:30, John 5:28-29; 2 Peter 2:9 KJV).
The lost are reserved in the graves to be brought to the day of wrath, they aren't in a burning fire being torture only to be brought back to the same place they were before.
Yes, we can know this was a parable because Jesus used phrases "there was a certain" such and such to begin them. For example, Jesus said in Luke 16:1.
"And he said unto his disciples, There was a certain rich man, which had a steward; and the same was accused unto him that he had wasted his goods."
Again, Jesus was not teaching that when a person dies their "immortal spirit" goes off to a place of torment (which is not biblical), that wasn't even the point of the parable and it would contradict the true gospel of the resurrection and Jesus coming with all his mighty angels to give out rewards. If the lost had already received their rewards there would be no need for Jesus to return to hand them out.

Job talks about death, But when God challenges him about it, he repents his words ... For God asks 38:14
Do you know where the gates of death are located? Have you seen the gates of utter gloom?
The answer to God's question was No, I haven't been there, and I know nothing about it death or gates of utter gloom.
Jesus on ther hand knew about both, he clearly talks of a place of comfort for faithful people, he called it Paradise, and a place of torment for unfaithful people. He speaks of these in the narration of Lazarus and the rich man, and again on the cross, when talking to the convict on the cross.

    • @SDASermons
      @SDASermons  2 ปีที่แล้ว

The story about the rich man and Lazarus was a parable. That is pretty clear from the fantastical elements like someone in hell able to speak to someone in heaven.

    • @SaaS-Guide
      @SaaS-Guide 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Wrong again. Lazarus wasn't in heaven, but at a place of comfort. This is the place where the faithful waited for Jesus after passing on.
This is the same place that Jesus promised to receive one of the criminals on the cross.
It's the place he went and preached to the captives, who rose with him on the third day.
I know this is disconcerting news, but it's the Good News. This is why Jesus said whoever believes in him will not die, but has already passed to eternal life.

@@SaaS-Guide you are making a distinction between heaven and paradise? I never heard that before. I heard of limbo, but I don't believe in that, because the Biblr doesn't talk about that. Jesus gave the thief a promise that day that he will be in paradise. Not that he would go there that very day. Jesus Himself didn't go to paradise that very day. He went to the grave. He even said to Mary after the ressurection that he had not yet ascended to the father.

A lot of confusion comes from people mixing scripture before and after the Cross. Or differentiating body and soul.
