    Hey that dragonlance is actually great for the DrakenWarden. You can run an opponent through while riding your dragon who can immediately chomp using its reaction, so that keeps your bonus action free for other things if you are fine with your Drake taking the dodge action after dealing some damage.

      If you want to arm your city watch with firearm analogues and be powerful. My home brew for Cantrip Arms. There 9 tiers of them. +1~+3 and levels of damage, lvl1-lvl5-lvl11.
      This way your police force has power levels equal to what you think is fair for the area and players have access to attack cantrips outside of class. Lowest tier Firebolt Cantrip Arms would be +1 to hit and 1d10+1 to damage.
      Ps: you also have to use Dex to hit so it acts like a weapon than a wand.

    The ruby weave gem is also a good pairing with the spells in this book a lot of which have spell components worth 500 gp
    For example Summon Draconic Spirit, Fizban's Platinum Shield, and Draconic Transformation all require components worth at least 500 gp

    • @Lord_zeel

      Or you can just use it to get Wish on any full caster. The lack of limitations on that feature is pretty epic, as like the Wish spell itself it allows you to gain access to any spell in the game as needed, with the tradeoff that you need to pick it at the start of the day... but you can cast that spell as many times as you have slots for, so if you pick something more mid-level like Raise Dead... you could be a Wizard bringing your friends back to life three times a day with no material cost. And on the high end, yes you could take Wish... but unlike Wish you could also take any 9th level spell, giving you true access to all spells in the game not just ones of 8th level or lower.

    • @joshuahendershot196
      @joshuahendershot196 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Lord_zeel True, I was mainly focusing on the "expend up to three charges to ignore material components of a cost of 500gp per charge expended I honestly forgot about the feature of picking a spell from any spell list and getting to cast it
      This is also good for spells like find steed and find greater steed, something that normally only Paladins would have access to.
      Decent utility spells for any class, especially if you're doing a lot of traveling.

      @Zertryx 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Honestly almost any magic weapon that says to use a specific weapon type wouldn't really break anything by using another weapon type. there is no reason your DM couldnt allow it to be a morning star. as a DM I treat all magic weapons as interchangeable to be another weapon type and dont stick usually to (Any Sword) when i hand them out. Not saying i allow my players to just pick what ever they want but im also always down if i do hand out a magic weapon and they want it as another weapon i have no issue with they trying to reforge it or even make it a quest to reshape it

  • @Lord_zeel
    @Lord_zeel 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    So that Ruby Weave Gem... it says you "ignore" the material component up to 500gp in value per charge. By *ignore* that would imply that not only the cost of the component is negated, but the component itself is not required. For most spells, that doesn't matter, but there is at least one spell for which it's crucial: Planeshift. The cost of the tuning fork isn't the limiting factor, it's the ability to find one attuned to the plane you want to visit that's tricky. But this gem allow you to *ignore* the material component, and the tuning fork is well within the cost range for just one charge. This potentially means that with this item, there is no restriction on planer travel, and what's more - any caster with 7th level slots could use the second ability to get the spell. And unlick *Gate*, the plane shift spell doesn't have a convenient clause that says planer rulers can block you.

Between natural weapons on a ton of races, dhampir bite, beast barbarians, monks, unarmed fighting style, and druids there is a lot of demand for natural weapon and unarmed strike hit and damage buffs. Topaz Annihilator isn't actually that powerful. 2d6 damage isn't very different from its base 1d12 damage, and necrotic damage is probably worse than magical piercing. Its only unique properties are "reducing to dust" and a free Disintegrate spell. The former is mostly flavor in the player's hands or a way of keeping players from doing stupid things in NPC's hands; it's not something that directly increases the power of the weapon.
    What I'm saying; Remove free Disintegrates and you'll get a pretty decent Uncommon or, at most, Rare magic gun that you can throw around pretty casually.

      If it’s a ranged weapon, you automatically add DEX. No weapon specifically tells you to add an ability modifier, you just add STR for melee weapons and DEX for ranged weapons.

      i would argue even with dex mod its not great for a legendary, but the permadeath and once a day disintegrate is really good, but i would still classify it as a vary rare in terms of effects. keep in mind though that Legendary is about rarity, not always power. The Sun Sword in Curse of Strahd is considered a legendary item because there is only 1 of it in the setting, ability wise its a rare item.

      @@serenitysilvermoon With weapons, the modifier (Dex or Str) is added always and there's no need to specify that. No matter the damage type or dice. The opposite, if the attack *doesn't* add your modifier, then it has to be stated, like with Two-Weapon fighting.

    These are very cool but they are too high rarity most games I have seen never get legendary items and maybe close to the end the party gets a couple very rares it's mostly uncommon items and a few rare items for most of the campaign so unless you run a dragon-themed campaign or a high-level oneshot most of these will never be seen. This is ironic since they keep saying most games go to about level 6 but they keep adding high rarity stuff.

    I am rather disappoint at the nerf on the Dragonlance itself. If you've seen the 1e stats for it, a 3d6 force damage is nothing. Against a Dragon, a footman's Dragonlance does damage equal to the welder's hit points. ie a fighter with 49 hp does 49 points of damage.
    A mounted Dragonlance does damage equal to the welder and the dragon he is mounted on, ie 40hp fighter and 100 HP dragon equals 140 points of damage.
    If you want the full stats and bonuses for the lesser and greater versions, let me know and I will type them out, of take a photo and send to you.
    These stats for 5e are a joke, especially considering dragons now have 3-4x the HP they did in 1e.
