Hei! Wanted to say big thanks to you for your structured and well designed videos! I just recently started adding Finnish as my ~5th language, and it's really nice to see your various examples and how to use them. Also your speed and variations in pronunciation really helps understanding the meaning and the usage! One thing I've been wondering is the L - I think it's usually pronounced like in "leave", but I can't help but hear it also often pronounced more "blocked" or "at the top", like in "love", "LOL" , "laughing" .. or the Russian version of the L if you're familiar with that somehow .. Is it like this? That it's pronounced more like the "blocked" way when it's doubled? like with most -lla or -llä words? Kiitos beautiful Kat! ♥
Thank you very much ❤ Could you recommend some tv programs or news or podcasts in Finnish which can the beginner can listen to, read. Or TH-cam bloggers who doesn’t teach Finnish but talk about something interesting in Finnish language
Hei Katya, I came across Ismo....pretty funny. Not sure if you have seen his comedy routine....heads up if you haven't he does one about loving vegans.....today we have talviaika so I have to "fall back" on all the clocks. Thanks again for the video. Kiitos
Oh he is quite well known in Finland and I've seen a few bits from him! He's great so I'm glad you've found him! And yes, we had the clock change a week earlier so the sunset is sooo early now xD
We could learn so much Finnish from Käärijä and team. 🙂 We could use the Daltons to learn how to say tall, medium and short height, for example. 😄😊 That would be useful now that they are touring Europe. There was someone on the Euro tour that had used Duolingo Finnish for months. When Käärijä talked to them they could only say "kiitos". 🤣 Thanks for the video.
@@johnfloyd9288 And the darned green parakeets😄 I guess they are priming folks to work at a pet store or Harry Potter themed diner, what with all the wizards.
Nice video! I have a question about Sormus. You said that sormusta is the plural of Sormus but isn't it partitive singular for counting? I would've guessed that sormukset would be the plural of sormus ... but maybe I'm wrong I dunno
Actually you are right!! It's not the plural word, I said it unclearly. If you use the word "monta" = many, then after it you use the singular partitive case form of the noun. monta sormusta = many rings, but yes the word ring is technically in singular form still! monta kuppia = many cups, monta takkia = many coats etc! It just sounds plural when you're thinking in Finnish so I didn't catch that, thank you!

Honestly I can't hear the difference between the L's in your English examples D: I think it's not that strict how you pronounce it I guess?

'Minkänäköinen' is a good word for this lesson. How something looks.
'Minkänäköinen hän on?' What does he/she look like
Omg this is so helpful especially to take an a2.1 exam.. if i watch this before i pass the exam for sure.
