Hey just wondering if I get one should I get the floaty case with it or not and second do you need to mood the mouth piece or just stick it in your mouth?
@@iaincampbell_ Cool, thanks! Just added it to my cart using your link. Found the video useful so thanks for helping to be able to give a little bit back. Loving the Hawaii content.
@@iaincampbell_ Thank you mate, much appreciated! Currently out of the water from a shoulder dislocation suffered last week from a hard fall on my board following an aerial manoeuvre, but can't wait to get back in the water in a couple of months.
I actually just tried out a new mouth mount today, such a great accessory. Although i went for the mouth guard style one, and it is a comfortable fit in the mouth. Gotta go find some barrels to tuck in now.
Hi Iain...what is the best angle you need for providing instruction?...if I can't get someone to video tape me how helpful is pov angle in seeing what corrections are needed?...thanks
POV is not going to help at all. The angle needs to be from the beach or in the water from someone shooting or GoPro from a friend. Photos will work for positioning on your board but they don’t tell the whole story.
Hey Iain, I have a question. Have you ever landed on your head while getting pounded by the wave? Also, do you know how to prevent landing on your head. Thank you!!!
Haha. Sorry for laughing but that’s pretty funny. No I haven’t really had that unlucky situation. I guess just knowing where to land and how to stop that from happening would come from experience bru.
Iain I like your videos a lot mate!!! one question! if the wave break on you, what do you do with the gopro? it is dangerous for the teeth? thanks and see you soon in the wavegarden Madrid!
I have my GoPro on a tether to my wetsuit so I can always let it fall out. It is a bit dangerous in between the teeth but I’m always willing to risk it for the clips 😉
Almost 1yr and a half later finally found the video I've needed. Can you do a video on how you applied your string and where you connected it to incase it does fall out of my mouth or just an easy step by step.
I have a mouth accessory as well but have not tried it yet. The reason is that it seems hard to breath with it while paddling and duckdiving. What do you do with the gopro while paddling or duckdiving, or just waiting for the set?
I keep it in my mouth. I’ve used it so many times it doesn’t really make a difference. Maybe think about throwing it in your wetsuit for the paddle out.
Handy vid, much appreciated! Do you know if there’s a way to use the mouth mount so it works with the GoPro in vertical orientation? I’m trying to figure out the best option to film vertically for sharing to Instagram etc. Thanks!
I’m using the 8 at the moment with no housing and it’s working like a charm. No issues at all. I don’t think the housing is necessary, but you need to wash it often to keep the salt water off.
@@iaincampbell_ thank you. the only other question i have is this: a friend of mine used a mouth mount, and he said it doesnt do justice to how deep or big the barrel is - 4 foot waves where he was pretty deep look like small head dips on film. how do you find it?
So the field of view on the GoPro cameras is super wide and that does effect and distort the way you see the waves and images in the camera. For me I like the look but as soon as you get into bigger waves it doesn’t do it justice as to how big it really is. Check my Instagram to see how it really looks.
I remember losing my Gopro and Gopro mount at a remote spot coz I forgot to put a floaty on, couldn't find it on the reef. Wear a floaty when u use I people otherwise you'll have to waste another 600 dollars on a new Gopro!
Thank you!
Hey just wondering if I get one should I get the floaty case with it or not and second do you need to mood the mouth piece or just stick it in your mouth?
I know that the GoPro mouth mount ships with a floaty so no need to buy separate. I don’t use the float at all.
Ok thanks
Im wondering where exactly you attach the string to on your wetsuit when using the mouth mount, is it tied to your arm or something, thanks
Most of the time it’s to the zip or draw string on the wetsuit…
From the looks of it you can still buckle mount the go pro on things like the handler 2.0 without removing the bite mount. Is that right?
Unfortunately I do not know…
Bro, do you tether that to your wrist or forearm?
To my wetsuit normally…
Do you know if this mouth mount is able to attach to Hero 5 session?
Yes it would attach!
Thanks for the video, just a quick question. Do you nailed your gopro with a leash? Just in case you ll lost it while surfing?!
Yes I have a small string I attached to my wetsuit and to the GoPro.
What type of string do you use?
It’s just a pretty basic little string from a bag I had. I’m sure it’s some sort of nylon…
Hi Iain. What kind of leash/strap do you use with your GoPro?Thank you.
Cheers from Portugal!Yew..🤙🏼
I just have a string that I use. It is in the video if you wanna check it out.
You should update your link to the newer GoPro 9-10 mount.
Thanks, will do 🤙🏼
@@iaincampbell_ Cool, thanks! Just added it to my cart using your link. Found the video useful so thanks for helping to be able to give a little bit back. Loving the Hawaii content.
And what settings you use on the camera to film?
I film at 2.7k @ 50fps and superview when in the water. No pro tunes or any custom settings as conditions change all the time in the water.

Hi could you tell me if the float is buoyant enough to float the GoPro AND mouth mount? (Hero9)

Keep up your great videos!! You are an inspiration for so many bodyboarders!!
Thanks man. That means a lot ✌🏼🤙🏼
Will a hero 5 GoPro fit on the mouth mount?? And do you use a waterproof case and floater along with it while you bodyboard and film clips??
Yes. It will work with all GoPros but the float may only work with the hero 6/7/8.
I just ordered a gopro and it's on it's way cant wait thanks man
Enjoy and good luck with it bru 🤙🏼

Does hero 5 black a good one to start filming with it until i will be able to buy the 7!?
Yes for sure. Any camera is a good start!
do you find the bottom new folding fingers are bit loose at all ?
Yes they do seem a little loose but not too bad to be honest.

I just tie it onto the mount. Not worth making a video for it. Hit me up on Instagram and I’ll send you a photo of what it looks like 🤙🏼
anyone knows if theres a way to purchase the bite mount only and not the floaty?
Don’t think so unless you get another brand outside of the GoPro brand.

Unfortunately I’m not too sure... I haven’t ever tried but I think you could get an extension for the GoPro which may work.
Ik this is a late reply but maybe try the GoPro swivel mount?
Thanks Iain very useful video 👍👍
Would u recommend this mouth mount for cliff jumping?
Yes I would but the impact of the water on your jaw might be very hard so be careful.
@@iaincampbell_ nice I intend on doing some big jumps👍

Hey! looking to buy a body board, do you know some of the high quality brands in your opinion?
Sniper body boards make the best products. Check them out.
Hi, do you use anything to keep the lens clear when you put your go pro in the water? Thank you.
Just usually use the spit from my mouth and lick the lens. That acts as a film to cover it and stop water from beading.
Iain Campbell Thank you very much for all of the tips !
Great Vid,Thanks for the great info, keep up great work,

Does anyone actually buy gopro branded accessories . The generic ones are identical😂
I know a couple people who buy these ones. They are brilliant.
it's and inexpensive way to lose all your teeth if you receive a good shot when you fall off
I’ve had a lot of falls with that in my mouth and no problems so far.
I made this comment because in the past I had made a similar object and I had no good result whatever broken teeth and cut in the mouth
Sorry to hear that.
