I'm 62, started surfing @ 14 yrs. old and still go get wet...if its not too cold, or too big ..and my old bones co-operate..got a fair ride a few weeks ago, and had a nice young man say; "nice ride..SIR" oh my Lord how that hurt. Sir(!?!) not dude...uuhhh.
He kicks out too early a couple of times, but other than that he is the ultimate flash. I love the way he's always off the lip or racing across the face. Your videos keep improving, each one better than the last. Please keep it up. I'm on dialysis ten hours a day and can't even go into the water anymore. I'll never lose interest in my sport. I'm just glad I'm alive. Many of my seventies surfing friends have already passed.

When I watch Kelly surf it makes me remember the time I spent in Hawaii and folks it was the best time of my young life...I also remember all the young surfers who had been doing their thing when I lived on Oahu from 1973 til 1976...Hawaii No Ka Oi

Kelly Slater is the man! Great personalty, humble ( did I really just say that about an athlete? ), great for humanity! Incredible surfer, makes it look easy ( like I can do it, hahahahaha ). He's the best EVER.

Ruling! at :36: surfs the roof past the jerry,,, at :55 the spray looks like feathers,,, at 1:06 appears from nowhere,,, at 1:10 stalls on the face so he can get tubed, then just races across the whole fricking wave and ends "too early". You always see Kelly competing and free surfing on round tails/rounded pins. Kinda taking the piss that you don’t see one in the Slater Designs line up?
He's making that board work in these conditions because he's the GOAT. But that board is struggling to handle the chop on the face and the speed at that size. Even Kelly is bogging occasionally and nursing some of those turns. Crying out for a longer rail line. Still cool to see him try radically different equipment. Not sure it was successful in this case tho.
There is no doubt Kelly is THE GOAT!! It isn't even close. If Andy had lived longer and was more sober, there may have been a discussion, but alas...That said, that board looks kinda sluggish.

It's a bitch of a paddle if you get in too far, as you get older you know these things and the back and shoulders ain't what they used to be..........
