Oh geez, you do hair toooo?!! How did you know I needed the advice? There's a reason I'm always wearing hats in my videos. I am also growing out a short cut. I've been using the hot iron, but I'm afraid it will turn my hair to straw. I forgot about those curlers. They have got to be more gentle. Thank you once again!

Hello! brand new subbie! Finally a woman who ages gracefully, looking healthy and vibrant, I am not interested in looking 30 or 40 just a glowing healthy 58 yr old. I am battling cancer now so beauty tips that are easy and not trying to cover my age is what I am going for.. I do my best to still to go out with friends to a play or dinner and don't want to look like I came out of an old fashion washtub. Bless you and I hope to watch all your vids. Love the Big Sexy products. Their styling powder is awesome! A little goes a long way. For a more reasonable priced volumizing/texturizing powder, got2b POWDER'ful is a good one. Love the 80's hair references. I started picturing the female cast members of Dynasty, Dallas and Falcon Crest

I have these exact hot rollers and I love them! Perfect for travel! And they heat up fast! I have been looking for products that actually give volume that lasts. I get things looking great and within an hour or so they are flattening out and/or losing the curl/oomph I managed to put into them-even if I spray the living crap out of it. I'll have to look at BSH again and see if there is anything in their line that might work for me. Yay for "children of the '80's" I thought I was the only one that said that!
Great "do"!! My hair is baby fine too plus straight as a board, since going gray I find it more curl resistant curling irons are useless. The best curlers I've found are Caruso steam curlers...tighter curl and last much longer.

what is the instrument you used when growing out your pixie it had a large heated roller looking thing on one side and then a flat piece (also heated) and pressed these together to get lift and aa soft curl. thx so much - Memory

What style do you want to eventually achieve, Monique? I must say that short hair does look 'kick ass' on you; you certainly have incredible facial bone structure to carry it magnificently! I know it requires hair appointments, and trims/styling every three to five weeks, and maybe it would limit the jobs you get for work, I don't know. I want to do something different with my hair too, but having it long is so freakin' easy for me! My ultimate favourite style is the classic bob, with the length shorter in the back, and the sides longer, and around shoulder length, or a bit below. It's definitely not maintenance-free, though! I do need a basic trim (I don't have layers anymore), so I will likely get some bangs back, where I can also create a little height with them. I grew them out, and they are a few inches past my chin, but I find them hard to work with, and manage, and they are not near as flattering on me. I've battled the 'turning half grey' texture change that resulted in terrible frizziness for over five years, but I recently purchased a straightening brush, and a different brand of shampoo, and conditioner that make my hair so very soft, shiny, and totally not frizzy (I'm also using pure argan oil on the ends twice weekly)! Finally!! The failed products I tried were too dismally numerous to list, and frustration was my middle name! I love the way your hair takes curl, and it IS growing, missie! I had those curlers and they are great for travel. Somehow I misplaced them so I am going to get a new set. Easy to use, compact and my hair sets well with them. Picked them up at Wall mart.

Please know that there is heat protestant products out there that will help when using bow dryers, curling irons, and flat irons. It keeps your hair from getting overly dry when you use the heat instruments. Even Big Sexy Hair has some, Kendra has great ones, Bed Head, etc. I'm glad you are growing your hair to shoulder length. Here is a product that will change your life---Batiste Dry Shampoo--- I get it from Amazon (sorry I don't know how to make a shortcut -I'm old). It has a white cast which I do not brush/rub off because it adds a good cast to my gray. I wear it on clean hair to get more body and I usually will spray some in before going to bed. They also have an XXL powder that is similar to Big Sexy Hair but again the white residue is good for my gray.
My hair is just like yours. Only I cut mine myself....!!!!!O!!!!! But the point is that my hair is supper thin. I love how you gave me tips I can actually lazy doo. Yes it looks great on you I think I will try. Thanks for the tips. Make up probably Not for me I think I would scare myself or my cats if I woke up without my face on. OH....how do you suggest someone with a skunk stripe deal with wigs ? Do I buy one that is salt and pepper and ask my beautician to work on the hair that I will pull of the wig that rims my face so it will blend in with the salt and pepper wig?

I think admitting your age makes you look older than what you are...these days. You have an attractive face with a Norwegian image. Why don't you dye it golden blonde? It would flatter you so much. The silver grey is not flattering on you as much as it can began someone else. If you want to admit your age, why don't you go golden with grey streaks rather than salt and pepper. Your styling is fabulous. But why don't you tell us ladies how to experiment with colour as we embrace grey with age. I hope you don't mind the critism.
If you watch more of her videos she explains the process she went through deciding to go with a more mature, natural grey. I think she looks amazing!
