That iconic Welk T-Bone vibrato - like butter!
Fantastic tone by all 4 of those guys. Bob Havens is definitely one of my trombone heroes. I really wanted to play just like him when i was a kid. I even started holding the slide between my fingers like him!!
I am self taught on trombone and had not yet seen Bob Havens. I wish I had! That 2-finger approach would help me stay more relaxed, I think.
Those King 2b’s are dominating
Artistry in Trombones. Those guys were superb players.
I love that trombone slide vibrato. Definitely the most vibrato I've heard from any brass quartet, yet they match so well it works beautifully and just adds a whole other level of charm!
I absolutely think this is spectacular & wonderful! 😇🎼⛪️
Wow that harmony, beautiful. Nice song too.
Wonderful! Lawrence Welk was my grandmother’s favorite TV show. I thought it was kind of corny back in the 70s when I was a teenager, but when she took me to a taping, I was astounded by the musicians, top notch, everyone of them.
Beautiful!!
Wunnerful, wunnerful!
Love this .
What a sound!!! A superb bone section. All those cats were top notch trombonists, esp Bob Havens!!!
Well had a great band of musicians(mostly LA studio players) very underrated.
Fantastico
Awesome!!!
I knew Barney 40 years ago. He told me that if you as a LW band member, attended church every Sunday, LW would buy you a new Oldsmobile every year! 😊
Thanks for all your great posts!
BTW Kenny Trimble is Jim Trimble's (another great trombonist) father.
Please keep it coming!
Great stuff - pity about the "applause" sign which obviously switches on with every player.....
Tremendous musicians. Bob Havens was incredible.
