    If other venues can lend an electric scooter for free then so can this US based company. If they want to set up shop in Canada they should follow Canada’s customs.
    And don’t call it a deposit if you have no intention of returning it. It’s a fee. Period.

    But if you have a physical disability where you require a wheelchair would you not already have one I don't understand the problem why one was required in the first place if you already require one. Unless perhaps you prefer a powered chair versus what you already have and then there is a cost involved as that sort of unit is expensive

      Can't speak for this guy, but I can hobble around on a cane well enough for most things, but in a place even half the size of Wonderland I'd need a chair. The expense of an electric chair, plus the huge hassle of transporting it, makes it not worth having especially when most larger places have ones available. Only difference here is I don't whine to the media when I have to pay a fee to use one; that's the tradeoff for not having to pay for my own and having to cart it around all the time.

      It’s for a motorized wheelchair or scooter, and I suppose most people who need wheelchairs can’t afford the added expense on top of their current chair. Besides, there’s the logistical problem of transporting that extra, motorized wheelchair in a specially equipped vehicle to your destination.

      Sometimes people have disabilities that don't require wheelchairs however they're still limited to how far they can walk and how long they can adore walking. I can walk around in my house and I can even walk from one class to another class although it does cause me pain. But if I have to go grocery shopping or if I'm going to some sort of outside fair or anything that requires an enormous amount of walking I require a scooter. Unfortunately as a disabled woman I can't afford a scooter because it's not paid for and I don't make very much money so I rely on the big companies to provide scooters and make places accessible. This is done all over Canada at least and even I believe in the states.

    • @pattiimcmath5885
      @pattiimcmath5885 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also I want to say he wouldn't be on rides that he had to be helped off of if something happened at the park; we're not allowed on them in the first place. and if he got hurt there what's the difference between him and somebody else getting hurt. Your reasoning is just ignorance of what it's like to be disabled. And the problem is is there's too many ignorant people that have no idea what it's like to be disabled what they require they just see somebody in a wheelchair in the automatically assume that everything is what they typically think it is like the guy I can't walk or the guys mentally ill or whatever. All this aggression against somebody that should have this as a right. and if our country wanted us to pay for all of these things on our own then they should Supply us with the means to do it. We're at the mercy of governments that don't think helping us is important. But let me tell you something I've worked from the time I was 15 years old and I didn't become disabled until I was in my early 40s. I paid my taxes I paid my dues I don't have children that go to school and I paid taxes for everyone else's kids to go to school. We're not like anybody else but we're not so different that we can't be treated with some respect and some normalcy.

    • @atheisthumanist1964
      @atheisthumanist1964 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@pattiimcmath5885 This isn't a need, like groceries etc. An amusement park is a luxury and it's not their responsibility to provide transportation around the park. If you can afford to go to the park, you can afford to pay to help them with the maintenance cost for whatever chair you choose. What's next? Can only afford the base chair, but don't have anyone to push you around or not strong/coordinated enough to do it yourself, they should have park employees push you around for free?
      That is entitlement. And I'm a disabled navy vet (double spinal injury, L5 and C4/5). Never expected a handout, because if you want something bad enough you save until you make it happen (even if that means you put $1+/- away a month until you can afford it). Personal responsibility, it's a thing that your parents obviously didn't instill in you.

      America’s Wonderland calls itself Canada Wonderland when they open up shop here. This always makes me laugh whenever I see it, driving by on the highway. What liars. And people fall for it.

      You'd think that Paramount, a media company in many ways similar to Disney would know how to operate a park, but apparently not!

      1) Why does Walmart have mobility scooters if everyone who needs one should already have one ? 2 Canada's Wonderland is a faceless American corporation that practically prints money while using cheap unskilled unfit labor. Have you been? Do you know what a fountain drink costs there? No outside water bottles aloud. It's a horrible place run by horrible people. Any bad publicity they get will never be enough as they deserve.

      Because he walks with a cane and Wonderland is nothing but a day of walking for him since he can't go on the rides. While he would probably happily pay $50 for one visit, his kids have a season pass and that is $50 per visit for season pass holders who cannot go on rides or waterslides. Sounds like a great value.

      He likely does..but no vehicle that can accommodate a mobility scooter..you go to Walmart.. they provide them..disabled are poor..most cant work and live on a fixed, low income of under $2,000 per month..life is difficult enough for an able bodied person..An organization such as this should encourage all to come and enjoy time there with their loved ones. They can afford to loan out mobility scooters for free..most disabled cant even get on the park rides because of their disabilities.yet they pay admission ..Kindness costs nothing . Remember that is please!! ✌🏼❤️🙏🏼👍🏼

      Quite honestly that’s his problem. If he can’t walk long distances without needing a wheelchair, he should probably own one. It’s that simple.
