Matt, I am so glad to see you back. I wish you all the success with things going forward and thank you for taking such a serious issue as mental health and bringing to the forefront.

I got mine 2 days ago, went to putting green and could repeatedly hit 12 balls within 2-4 ft on 40-60 ft putts. Short putts inside 10 ft were dead on. Goodbye Odyssey Stroke Lab One blade putter I bought in May. This supernova 20 is great!

@Tony Hickman I bought one and thought it was way too firm. I like soft putters like odyssey so was disappointed. It was beautiful and I sold it for $100 more than I bought it for so no loss.
@Tony Hickman it was an ER6. It did not feel solid either. Felt like an aluminum baseball bat. I love the way they look. I need to find a new putter. Getting tired of my current 2 ball odyssey.
So I figure if I keep watching all the TXG videos ,, buy the odd piece of recommended gear ,, get my TXG fitting ( can wait btw ) I should come in at smooooth 6 !! I didnt even know that this tech existed !! Great vid as always guys !
Great video as usual guys. I have used Odyssey putters for years as I like the soft feel of the face. Could you please let me know if this putter has a similar feel or does the insert have a firmer feel. Thanks 👍
My feeling is a blade may be harder to hit, but the feedback teaches you how to hit the middle of the face. And helps you adjust to hit the middle therefore you will hit the middle more often. GI irons dont give you feel and feedback. It appears these putters might have the same issues. When I changed from GI irons to CB forged I got better at striking the ball and continue to get even better at hitting the middle of the face. Fortunately my 2k Scotty Santa Fe is a bladed putter that I have had for 21 years and have been a great putter most of the time. I never played a solid forged iron and never really got good at ball striking until I did. For the weekend warrior who never practices, I can see this being something that might help them. But I am pretty confident I will stick with clubs that give me maximum feedback for as long as I play this game. For me feedback was the best GI addition to my set I have experienced by leaps and bonds. The best putters in History didn't have all the tech and forgiveness. If you miss this club a little and it feels good and goes in, you could very easily engrain a little miss into your muscle memory. And that is not a good thing. Especially when you have to hit longer or up hill putts.
@@canyonaro My point was, they really are not forgiving because you never know if you are hitting the sweet spot and you will think you always need that false security for the rest of your life and never get really good. Play a blade. take the time to get to know it and read the feedback. You will get much better much faster. At the very least, practice with a blade and take the GI putter to the game. Draw a vertical line on the rear of the ball that transfers to the putter. Hitting the sweet spot is very important. I see all types of people putting all types of ways and the best putters are always the guys that line up to the target properly and start the ball on their intended line. My brother used a blade and was a great putter. He got a claw and did really good with it then it gradually started to struggle. Trust me. There is a reason the pros want that feel. It doesn't matter what your skill level is. Their is no miracle putter that will make you better. Learning to hit the middle makes you better. Until then you will never know what you are missing.
@@chuckyz2 I've been a 5 or less since I was 15 years old and putting is my strength. I've only bought two putters in 20 years - a Newport 2 and the original TM Spider. As pretty as the Newport is, the Spider still spends a lot more time in my bag. The Newport is really only better on greens >12 on the stimp, which I don't play often. We are not the norm. The average golfer sucks and is never going to devote the time to following your (correct) advice. @@chuckyz2 Literally all my progress score-wise came from ages 12 to 16. My handicap basically hasn't changed since (I'm 40). It'll fluctuate mainly based on how sharp or rusty my short game is. I started with an old Ping Anser around age 10-11. Used an Odyssey Rossie 2 for two years of high school (I was on the golf team) but went back to the Anser style with the Newport.
