    Hai teacher. Thank you very helpful
    I have confused because when we make a group question in kobo like example I have to collect data for member of group in one place or District when download the data. The data is separate in 2 sheet one for perfil group and 2nd for member group name ? How can I do it when downloading in one sheet

      Hello! Yes, when using a 'repeat' group, the data from the repeat group will show up in a separate tab. This is because you've created a 'one-to-many' relationship between the main interview table, and the multiple rows of data you're collecting in the repeat group.
      One way around this is to NOT use repeat groups. In this case, you would simply create the same question group over and over and over again in your survey design. You'd then put a 'skip logic' on each group of questions, like "if they filled out group 1 questions, then show group 2" , "if they filled in group 2, then show group 3", etc. This makes your form a lot longer, so you end up having a LOT more columns in your main interview data table. But at least then all your data is in one sheet in Excel at the end.
      The other solution is to use something like 'Power Query' in Excel or Power BI to link the two tables together. It depends on what is best or easiest for your analysis workflow!

    Thank you very much teacher! It is very useful for me. I am planning to design daily fish catch monitoring form for a local fishing community to do daily fish catch data collection. One question in my form is that there are a number of fish species caught per day, so repeating question is may helpful.

    Hi I want to create a NPS (net promoter Score) form. i am creating rating questions and follow up questions as well. I want to knpoow how to assigned 3 follow up questions fro 1 main question which consist of rating?

    • @HumanitarianDataSolutions
      @HumanitarianDataSolutions  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi! To set up 3 follow-up questions for your NPS rating question, you can either:
      1) *Create a Group with Skip Logic*: Group the 3 follow-up questions together and apply skip logic so the group only shows based on the rating given.
      2) *Apply Skip Logic to Each Follow-Up Question*: You can also apply individual skip logic to each follow-up question so they appear based on specific rating responses (e.g., if the rating is 7-8, show Q1; 9-10, show Q2, etc.).
      Here’s another detailed video tutorial on setting up skip logic including with groups: th-cam.com/video/f-QXLIVQV3A/w-d-xo.htmlsi=zCf1eaVfr5NpuZW1

    Hey, thanks for the content it has been very helpful to me however, I have a this problem with repeat groups. How do I remove an option in the list
    if it has already been chosen at least once in the previous instance of the same repeat group.

    this is a great function By Kobo however it gets messy when you want to export the data as the exported data will create a double sheet not referencing the UUID but rather referencing the child table by the index number. I would be interested to know if you have any tips to try and merge the data all together

    • @mottainai3966
      @mottainai3966 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Also looking for solution to this. Have you or anybody else (who are reading this comment) found a convenient way to analyze the data that comes from repeat questions? Even though you said it was messy, could you kindly share how you worked with that data?

    • @HumanitarianDataSolutions
      @HumanitarianDataSolutions  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In your repeat table, look for the column called "submission_uuid"... That's the uuid that links the repeat rows to the main data table. Personally, I use Power BI to look at and analyse/link the data from the two tables. How do you currently work with repeat data?

    Hi Dear, I really appreciate your way of teaching. You are well expressive. May I add two suggestions, please? 1) As you provide the tutorial, ensure that beginners are attending ( minimize the speed); 2) can you develop a full course ( like a step-by-step) or full length at a time. Thanks

    • @HumanitarianDataSolutions
      @HumanitarianDataSolutions  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you for your message!! Yes, please do minimise the speed, pause it, and re-watch sections of the video to ensure you can follow each step! I try to keep all the steps in there, but need to keep moving somewhat quickly, but I've found the benefit of video is that many people slow the speed down and re-watch sections, so the video can hopefully serve both beginners and more advanced users. If you're interested in the full course, I have an intermediate-to-advanced course which is here: humanitariandata.thinkific.com/pages/mastering-form-design-registration

    hello, I've been watching tutorials for building a Kobocollect form for 2 days, and this is just what i want. Thank you.
    However i also want to have a pick list where i can pick households where the participants belong to from my list of beneficiary households. please teach me how to go about it. The list is a subgroup of District>Chiefdonm>Section>Community

      Okay - here are a couple ideas for you to think about: 1) Watch the last tip from this video about using the choice-filter th-cam.com/video/frQMW_GNRdg/w-d-xo.html This will show you how to create an instance from a choice-list that you can basically do a 'lookup' from. 2) Checkout the pulldata function - this might work for you if you have a dataset in an external csv file that you want to lookup from: th-cam.com/video/-Hi_K1rWxCo/w-d-xo.html 3) Third solution would be to create a choice-list in an external file, and then you would use a select_one_from_file method, shown here: th-cam.com/video/yiRsH1vvcBU/w-d-xo.html Let me know which one is the best for your situation!

      Hi there! The matrix function doesn't actually function on the smartphone/Collect App. It only works for viewing the question in Enketo (the browser version of the form).

    😊 Hi teacher, it is possible if the repeat question base on multiple respons not from single respon (how many participants). I mean, if I answer A, B, D then the next question (name, age etc) base on A, B and D

    • @HumanitarianDataSolutions
      @HumanitarianDataSolutions  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sure, what you need to look at is called "skip logic" in kobotoolbox or "relevant" in XLSForm. You'll out this in your repeat group for example. Then you need to write an equation based on, say, question A, then you use either "AND" or "OR" to write a second part of the equation based on question B, and again use "AND" or "OR" to write a third part of the equation based on question C. Let me know if that helps or if you have a more detailed question we can help answer!

      @@radikutoyo th-cam.com/video/nSE7v7yYvuU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=s4RfNfHiTS_gOX86 this is a video where I use a relevant equation. You would just need to make your equation a bit more complex where you use AND or OR to create multiple components of your equation. Here's an example: ${age} >18 AND ${sex} ='female' AND ${education} ='yes'

    What if I want to creat a repeat group for a multiple select choices.
    E.g what types of vegetables did you cultivate last year. I select 3 types of vegetables from the choices. I want the repeat group to automatically repeat for each choice selected.

      @HumanitarianDataSolutions  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! Yes it is possible! Check this community post to see how. community.kobotoolbox.org/t/add-repeated-groups-based-on-selected-options-of-multi-select-question/26548

      @@HumanitarianDataSolutions thank you. I've seen the expression used and applied it.
      But each repeat group keep showing a all the selected choices on then.
      Eg. Selected choices
      1. Orange
      2. Banana
      3. Mango.
      Repeat groups read:
      Q1. How many orange banana mango did you sell in the past 12 months?
      In my case, each group should have a single item appear on it.
