I moved to Nashville in 1982 and didn't hear anything about hot chicken until maybe 10 years ago. I suspect that someone came up with an interesting origin story to sell chicken.

I've never heard of it until a couple of years ago. I have family who live in Nashville. We used to go to Nashville to visit all the time. NEVER heard of it.

Yeah, like most things. But it’s good! 👍 The presenter even noted that this is probably far from true. Geez.

Meh. I left Nashville almost 5 years ago now. Many in the real music scene have. California has moved in and is taking over. They've marred the local neighborhoods beyond repair. They've had music venues literally in eye sight of music row shut down because they had live music on their patio at night. Get that? They moved to Music City USA, bought a place literally at music row, then got mad because there was music at night that they could hear. . . . that is only a tiny smattering of the idiotic changes that the uncontrolled expansion of Nashville has caused and many of us left. There is now a solid cadre of old-school Nashville writers, players, producers, engineers, etc. that have relocated to a different city on the down-low and have bought up the good spots to prevent big music industry cats from hogging them and are happily thriving in an artistic environment that focuses on MUSIC instead of MONEY again. I bought two condos and a small house there. I rent the condos to visiting artists for cheap and keep the small house for myself when I visit. ( _I'm retired now_ ). BEAUTIFUL city. Cool people. And so far we've all been able to keep word from getting out and ruining our good thing. California is a cancer and its people are cancer cells spreading its disease. Fortunately there are few here and those few are watched like hawks. Nashville is a facade now. I still have a boat load of friends there working in the machine and they hate it. Johnny Cash had it right.
