This is a very good documentary. It tells the whole story well, without being boring but doesn't skip important detail. All we need now is to bring it up to date to 2023. Pete Tong and Annie Nightingale are still at Radio 1 as they are legends. This is a good explanation of DJ culture and music which is unique to the UK and I would advise any foreigners to watch it
Great show! So glad this is up on YT. Thank you for uploading this. What an education! I remember trying to wire up my transistor radio aerial to get Radio Luxemburg in the seventies. But John Peel came along to the BBC and made things a great deal better. I remember all of the radio names from the seventies, but did not know that Tony Blackburn was actually cool before my time 😉
This is the best documentary for DJs ever, an entire history of DJing
Ah Alan Freeman. The King. Alright? Not Arf!!

*There was also Second Side Up from the mid 1970s through to 2000, and it is here on TH-cam and on the BBC iPlayer. Thank you.*
This is interesting
Balls to your superclub.
Kenny Everett was my favourite!!
Yes. Him & John Peel. Who could ever forget either! 🙂
Why didn't the pirate radios tape the records onshore to Fidelipac or something similar??
Tony Blackburn was my favourite all time DJ. What’s yours...?.
John Peel.
