- A winter's night out at the cabin. A cold stormy night but cozy and warm in the cabin with the wood fire burning. Back by popular demand so to speak. My videos from the Cabin are always very popular and I get many requests to do another winters night in the Cabin video. Towards the end of the video I tell a story from my experience of walking the CAMINO DE SANTIAGO . As the excitement of the holiday season passes, my mind enters into another northern new england season that prepares me to settle in and enjoy the solitude and beauty of January and February. A winter snow and wood stove is a great way to experience this winter season and Dale, you bring this to me and I'm sure others so thank you for your continued post!! Oh, and your voice is so great- how about one of your stories, at night, during a storm by the fire and candles about!!
sorecawk LOL Stories by Dale by the fireside move over FDR. FDR's fireside chats come to mind because his summer cottage (32 rooms 16 bedroom, 9 bathrooms) is here on the island.

Do you ever see or hear any other animals at night by the cabin?
Lenny Brown No I don't I have found fresh rabbit tracks in the snow some mornings but that is about it. We don't have bears and our coyote population has really dwindled in the past few years.Other than that we have Bob Cat and Lynx but I have never seen them on my property, would love too though they are beautiful cats.
Wonderful video. I have several bird feeders and I like to sit and watch them, my favorite is the woodpecker, he's a peaceful bird. Your video is relaxing and I totally enjoyed it. Thanks for posting.

I have watched you cook many times dale. I'm going to try this dish on my family . but i think I'll add some spaghetti sauce. and some sausage .with the bowties but i think the salad was a nice touch . you are a exceptional cook dale . also i really missed Angel . by the way we have been subscribers of yours for about 4 years. and i love your cabin videos in the snow because we live in Florida and it never snows here . and in December it only gets down to about 30 degrees. however we are from up north originally. and we do miss the snow . at least my daughter and i do . but the summers out here are brutal. ☝☝☝☝

Yep. For me it all started when I found Dale's "Snowy Night in the Cabin" video a couple of years ago. I can see why the cabin videos are the most popular. I ended up subscribing after I got hooked on the gardening projects, and his cooking...and there is something about the way he presents himself in these vids that puts people at ease.

Thank you. The cabin is insulated which might have been a mistake because I always seem to get it too hot in there with the wood stove going.

So true story...last night, I fell asleep listening to one of your other videos. It was on auto play so went to the next video. By the time it got to this video, I was fast asleep. That was until you set the smoke detector off. I woke up out of a deep sleep yelling "fire!". My husband jumped out of bed and started canvassing the house. It took a couple of minutes to realize it was the smoke detector in your video and not the one in my house. Surprisingly, he did not get mad at me. He did, however, tell me no more Dale for me at betime. Lol

Dale, I want to compliment you on your videos. I like them all but my favorites are your winter cabin adventures. Very relaxing but adventurous. Makes one want to be there and enjoy the good conversation and company. Unfortunately I injured my back a few years ago and that put an end to my outdoor camping especially during the winter time. Keep up the good work Dale and please do a few more winter cabin adventures this up-coming season.

Wow, I'm from Greece and I was really surprised to see Kalas sea salt making it all the way to Canada! Lovely video, my friend. Always yearning for the solitary winter cabin life.
Thank you. You are the second person form Greece that has commented on the salt. I buy it at Costco . I like it because it is sea salt but it is iodized.
Yes, it's a well-renowned sea salt brand, it's good quality. I have a question: what do you do for food? Do you go to your nearest town for supplies every now and then, or is that a greenhouse I see outside the cabin? Canada's winter freeze might be good for naturally freezing stuff like legumes and vegetables.
There are small grocery stores here on the island but I go further afield to do a larger shopping. That is a greenhouse and I get a lot of use out of it in the summer.
What a lovely night at the cabin! I not sure I'll see the bottom of my notifications on YT...working very hard at it lol

I agree with you about the cream cheese. No sense having all those calories and fat when the low fat or non-fat taste the same as the chubby maker. I always love your cabin chats, Dale. Gardening With Puppies Thank you Paula. Every once and a while I come across something that the low fat version is as good as the full fat version and the cream cheese is one of them I don't think I could tell the difference.

She was quite the character I remembered that the city was Burgos we walked by a pub on the way through the city that had a Guinness sigh outside and she said, I'm having me some of that tonight. I never did find out if she walked all the way back to the pub later.

I found your videos a day or two ago, and enjoy "visiting" you in your cabin in the winter. How cozy it seems! It must be very relaxing to fall asleep in such a peaceful situation, listening to the crackling fire.
I read the Moonstone in my early 20s. I love Victorian literature. Collins also wrote "The Woman in White", another great gothic style mystery.

I tried one of those Philadelphia cream cheese flavors a few years ago. I was not impressed either. In fact, I believe I threw it out just as you did.
Tim Horton's! Even in West Virginia I like that coffee. I order it through Amazon and I LOVE it! I have been very jealous of your mug. I've eyed it in most of your videos and decided I must get one for myself.

Thank you. Tim's put out a new collectors mug every Christmas. I have them all LOL. I started a tradition years ago that for my family I give them each a mug and a gift card for Christmas so they all have cupboards full of them too. If you want one they are always being sold on eBay.

I love the cabin vids! As for Timmies.... well the drive thru line up is how most Canadian's warm up their cars. LOL A double double is 2 sugar and 2 cream. They have buttons they push according to the size of cup you get so it always takes consistent. If you drink a normal size coffee with 2 sugar and 2 cream you would order a double double no matter the size.

Dale, I love your videos from your cabin. Your cabin is always warm and inviting, and you always make us feel right at home.
I like your Christmas lights outside the cabin, but do you decorate the inside for Christmas? And if so, would you consider making a Christmas video from your cabin?
Thank you. I have never decorated the inside for Christmas, that's an idea though. Funny thing about my Christmas lights is they never work at Christmas. They are on a small solar panel and at Christmas the sun is so low in the sky and the days so short it doesn't charge the batter enough to run the lights.
