My only child passed away unexpectedly 2.7 years ago, and two months ago, I decided to officially start TH-cam. It was something he and I had planned to do together-documenting our lives. This is my way of honoring that promise and keeping his memory alive. He was 26 and I’m 48 now.
I lost my son when he was 26 also. My only child. Hugs and prayers for you. I plan to start a hobby channel soon. I've been buying all kinds of stuff to get started. We can do this!
@ Hugs and prayers for you too. It’s so hard but we have to do it. I too bought a lot of stuff as far as camera gear and software. Now I just have to decide on a schedule and show up. We got this!!
What a fantastic topic and channel! There’s so much “mystery” surrounding it, and it’s something many people shy away from discussing or acknowledging. I had the privilege of working with two doctors in Brazil who specialize in menopause, and it opened my eyes to how much there is to learn and talk about. I’m in my early 40s and already taking steps to prepare my body for what’s ahead. It’s something we can’t avoid, but we can embrace it without fear. Knowledge truly is the key!

Just got started a month ago. I lost my mother and sister both in 2022 and gained a child my sister’s only child my niece. Going through this experience turned my life upside down, and transformed my life tremendously for good. I felt guided to share my story, my journey of healing. Watching this video inspired me and gave me the courage to keep going. Thank YOU for sharing!
I’m 60 and people have told me my whole adult life (late 20s on) , I should write a book, or become a therapist, or teach what I know or have my own show… and now the last 2 months, 6 people - including my therapist (!!!) have told me I should have a podcast, a youtube channel, to hop on TikTok and start sharing, write books, have a blog, etc etc. I am easy breezy talking with people 1-1 or in a group, but the thought of just turning on a camera and talking absolutely paralyzes me! So this was really helpful because my favorite thing to do is to share very honestly my life which has been quite scary and also colorful with people who have had their own challenges and I find when I share the darkest stories and they’re able to see the light in my life and in my eyes, it gives others hope. So this was really helpful to me today and I’m thinking about it in a different way. Thank you!
I’m 75 and I appreciate this information, not only I don’t know how to edit and it’s to expensive, however hearing you guys say just record and put it out there , that register in my mind. Thank you.

Amazing interview! I’m thrilled to share that I’ll be going full-time on TH-cam in 2025. I’m passionate about tech, especially smartphones. I turned 40 last year and started making videos during the pandemic. Today, the channel has 34 million views, and TH-cam has taken me to 5 countries-an incredible journey! Here’s the best part: I create all my content using a smartphone and edit it on a tablet. No fancy equipment here, just passion and consistency. All this while juggling 3 kids and a part-time job. If you’re passionate about something, grab your phone, start recording, and share your story. It’s absolutely possible-best decision I ever made!
LOVE THIS. Thanks for sharing! Just subscribed to your TH-cam and TikTok! This is truly inspirational and I'm excited to follow your journey and review. Appreciate that you keep it real and were creating with your smart phone and edit on the tablet. Sometimes we have these ideas that we need to have all the equipment before starting TH-cam. This conversation was so packed with valuable nuggets of information - namely with respect to content creation. I've been enthusiastically following Michael Zuber since I was first introduced to him several months ago on the Graham Stephan's Iced Coffee hour - but my interest was specifically for his US real estate-related insight. So when I saw Michael in the thumbnail, I immediately clicked on this video expecting him to talk about real estate. Incidentally, I'm also a TH-cam content creator (over 40) who's blessed with a shy-ten thousand subscriber base for a channel that admittedly deserves much more attention than I give it (probably about fifty videos or so). So when I hear Michael explain that he didn't really get any traction for the first thousand videos...WOW!...talk about perseverance!!! Shows me how lucky I really am and that I've got no excuses to pump out more content on a more frequent basis. So much gold in this video. If you're someone out there who's looking to grow or start a channel, I strongly suggest you listen THOROUGHLY to this insightful and inspiring conversation. Amazing advice. Delighted to have been introduced to Omar (just subscribed!), and Michael is a role model on so many levels, and a seemingly all-around genuine good, down-to-earth guy. BRAVO!!! 👍👌
I’m 38 and posted my first video today after a 10 year hiatus from TH-cam. It’s exactly what I needed to see, so much wisdom in one conversation. Thank you for posting it ✨
I can’t wait to revamp. This video gave me the push and clarity I needed. I currently make videos on trauma and mental health, but it’s not something I see myself doing long term. I want to focus on growth, self-esteem, etc and I’m excited to see where it goes. I hope restarting with my existing channel as opposed to starting a new channel isn’t a mistake. Good luck to my fellow 40s club members!
For clarity, not naming someone does NOT protect you legally. Especially when you make it clear that the exact interview was transcribed. It will be very easy to make a connection to the person. 1+1=2. The best way is to have all interviewees sign a release that covers your intentions. My advice from a 40+ attorney to my 40+ going for it, do it right legally and don't risk starting later in life just to lose it all.
I’m curious-if what you're saying is true, can you still be sued? It seems like a lot of people are afraid to speak their truth because they're worried about getting sued.
@Manila-wo3pi good questions. Those are two different issues. A truth defense pertains to a defamation issue. Here, we are talking about a name, image, and likeness (NIL) issue. When you appropriate someone's else proprietary information, NIL, or intellectual property without their consent for commercial use there may be an infringement on said rights. To help with preventing that from happening just have people sign a release form that gives you a right to use the information beyond the original scope of airing an interview. The release form should state what your expected rights are pertaining to the content created. Otherwise the expectation is that one's NIL was only going to be used for the interview. Not transformed into other mediums. Even worse yet, I've seen it get ugly. The interviewee demanded that the interviewer not release the interview or take it down for certain reasons after they put all that time into it. If you have a release form it will protect you from that. I hope that helps.
I just turned 40 in October and decided I really want to dedicate my time to my TH-cam channel. I decided to just start posting my videos and get out of my head about everything being perfect. The audio is terrible on my last two videos! I kind of knew it would be, but I just needed to do it. I’m still glad I did it, for myself. It made me even more motivated to get online and get what I needed to correct my obvious errors. I decided not to skimp and get what I wanted. I ordered a DJI gimbal and mic and plan on improving at least one to two things each video to make it better than the last. We are our own worst critics so I plan on using that to learn how to upgrade my content to the standards I want it to be at. And I plan on enjoying the process as I go. I just needed to get out of my head and start! We can all do it!
I needed to see this! I have started and stopped wayyy too many times! I said when I turned 50 (this past July ) it was MY season to get back on my journey to a better me (my channel name) and I have let life get in the way. I have a whole bunch of videos and shorts I’ve never posted. I’m getting back to it! I’ll sit down tonight and write my restart plan🤎 Cheers to anyone else restarting their journey as well🤎
The best slogan I’ve ever heard and one that holds me accountable and stays in my mind every day is, you gotta just press record! I hope think media never changes that. Because it’s so true!
Thank you for this..I needed to watch this..I woke up with anxiety and doubt this morning again.I had to pray to calm my spirit..I am 45 and ditched 9 to 5 in August this year to pursue what has been stuck inside of me for years..I have just not had the courage to start a personal TH-cam channel yet..I hope to share my testimony one day as I know God is about to do huge supernatural things !!
THIS. I'm your 13th subscriber. Don't let fear hold you back. Let me know when you post your first video. Share your testimony because God knows I could use a testimony to remind me of His goodness. 💖💖💖
Over 50 club, almost 60 club, here. This is awesome! I am a former educator who hasn't posted one video, yet. I'm building my pipeline in advance so I don't have to be stressed on creating the next video with a chance of missing a post date. Love this!
I needed this video today. I turned 40 in August but feel like I have lived many lives. I would love to share those with others and it would probably be another layer of healing for me.
It's all about the process, I'm 37 and have been documenting my travels in Asia the past 5 years. 830 subs but so happy I've been capturing the journey 😊
Asia is the best place to be right now. We are in Bali, having a great time and enjoying the fab weather with our little girl. Next heading to Vietnam ❤ I will look for Vietnam videos on your channel ❤
@MindsetinMomentum enjoy! Currently in Japan 🍜 Went to Vietnam three times but before I started my TH-cam. Been featuring China, Kong Kong, Thailand, Japan, Spain, Indonesia, Philippines and Sweden 🤗
I checked your playlist but couldn’t find anything. We’re heading to Hoi An for 40 days-I’ve been there before, but I was hoping to get some tips from you. Maybe next time! 🫶🏻
Between 2008-2009 I lost my business and home. Worked my ass off again to rebuild my business. Business was thriving had plans to leave my full-time job in 2021. Pandemic hit lost out on everything again. I turned 50 in June, now I’m resetting myself again. What I have now are a lot of lessons and skills to share. Built a Shopify store, I’m going to start a TH-cam channel. Thanks for sharing.
This is SO GOOD and just what I needed at this point as I'm currently in the middle of creating my mini-course on Teachable due to the same questions being asked over and over again. I'm in my 50's. Thank you for this video & interview Omar! 💥
I’ve just started my channel, and one thing I’m clear about is keeping my personal life private. I love sharing my ideas and thoughts, but after experiencing burnout on Instagram, I’ve decided to draw a boundary. Especially since I have a little girl, I want to give her the choice to appear online only when she’s old enough to understand what it means. I find it concerning when people share their children’s entire lives online, as kids often have no say in it. This is the approach that feels right for me-everyone has their own way, and this is mine.
I’m turning 41 in January and this year I have began to build my brand since August and it’s been great. I have started on FB and I’m transitioning to TH-cam as well. My brand is travel and relocation, I have traveled to over 30+ countries and I have a lot to share. This is so inspirational thank you for sharing.
I appreciate this message so much. I am 38 who has been inconsistent with my content creation due to feeling too old to do it. This was a podcast conversation I needed for perspective.
I am 42 and started on TH-cam 2 years ago. I am creating content for over 40s to be inspired to design their (retirement) lives and create content on TH-cam to fund it. This was useful. Thank for sharing.
Loved this conversation. I will be 40 in August and my goal is to live in purpose and share my life. I can honestly say thank you to the Lord because He has truly redeemed the time. Until you're last breath Live, make mistakes and learn. Then go TEACH ❤❤❤❤❤
I feel this. That retirement plan. I just started my channel went from 40 to 1600 ish subscribers. But really thinking more of talking lessons I've learned from create film. Great content. Just subscribed!!!
Thanks Omar! GREAT topic. Im 36 father of two (still in paternity leave for the second one) and I feel kind of grown up when comparing to all 20’ successful kids living in Dubai that I see in social media. I’m starting my personal brand in this channel next February and I’m all in… gonna make an impact in some people’s lives . Thanks for your work
yes I started this orchid channel because I have been growing orchids for over 3 decades and I want to share my experiences with new growers. Thank you for the inspiration.
41:50 Clearly a clean barter of mastermind proportions! That was a smooth finesse "What do you need from me?" He replies " Uh I Just need you to keep being who you are, keep helping when I ask question"... Oranges for Apples is EVERYTHING! Good stuff Omar
Wow! This was so good. I am 43 years old was laid off last year and lost my 6figure job. God has literally been leading me to start prayer on my TH-cam channel. I also recently joined the first Christian MRR course and we are being taught how to build generational wealth. The time is now, praying that body of Christ jumps on this wave and start impacting the world to advance the Kingdom of God!! 🔥🔥🔥 arise people of the most High GOD!!!
I’m 46 and took a leap of faith and just started. Don’t worry if no one’s watching right away just grab your phone and began doing what you love and record it. Talking to the camera also can be therapeutic.
Thank you for this episode you are inspiring others to take bold steps! At 50+, I’m stepping into my super power and embracing what’s next. I’ve started my channel to help others in the second half of life create freedom and flexibility on their own terms-something I’m learning to do, too. Your content gave me the courage to hit record, and I’m so grateful. ❤ You are changing lives!!! Keep doing what you do!
Thank you sir , i am 39 and living in Africa . I am very educated with a masters Degree . I have no Retirement plan as i never got a job . i am really inspired . U tube is transforming lives in Africa ;Cameroon . You have inspired me .
Ok...im back with my second comment😆...Mike is a genius and I love his strategy of I can do it myself without the bells and whistles...less money spent...less problems! This is confirmation. Thank you for this interview🎉💫💚
Started build my personal brand at 60 last year and live this advice of building it for a stream of income for retirement. Starting sooner would have been great but enjoying the process.
I am 51 now and building away. I have amassed a good amount of content now and as people discover my channel I do notice that they start watching the backlog. It has taken a while but it is really starting to work.
I am 55 and experiencing the same issue. I have a no facing channel now because I couldn’t face been on camera but now I’ve decided to do a London travel channel which I am going to launch this Sunday and I am going to be facing my fear with London with Sunday and I am appearing on camera tongue tie and all. 😂 you can do it!

This conversation was GREAT. What great energy. Thank you so much. I'm learning a new skill (Blender 3D) and sharing it on YT at almost 46yo, while still being a freelance UX designer for 20 years and a mom of almost teenagers. I'm looking to share more indepth about my 3d journey, not only how I tackle my Blender projects, but more on a personal note. But I find it scary to open up, not knowing what to say. After watching this conversation I realise I probably have something to say that could inspire others... Next steps: find it and voice it... I guess.
This is so inspirational. At this point in life I am learning how important CONSISTENCY is. The time goes by anyway. It's better to be several thousand "unwatched" videos in at age 50, 60, 70 ... than starting over and over and over and not gaining any headway. It all builds on itself.
I see what Mike is talking about in the next 2 years. I’m so glad I’m finally starting because it’s not gonna get any easier. Barrier to entry is low but the growth will take time
You can chase money or impact! I love that clarity❤ I’m definitely focused on impact knowing the money will come …. I’m 50+ about to launch (re-launch) my TH-cam page. Thanks for this episode.

Im really enjoying this episode and loving the gems. I love when Mike said What if he brought on someone to create Ads then thought🤔 that sounds hard😂 Sometimes doing too much is doing TOO much!😉 He knows he's already in abundance...that's cool!

Hey Omar. I've clicked on this to watch tomorrow in the car. I first saw your content when you interviewed Myron. I wonder if you'd be interested in interviewing me, at the early stages of business but with a huge vision. It would be a 'thinking out of the box' style move. All the best.
Mike, your story is so inspiring and you are GRINDING. Loved this episode and have listed to it twice already, while working my day job, and dreaming about my side passion. Im 42 and ready to go all in.
If you love what you do or love who you are or just love life. The world wants to know you. I went from smoking sherm and m*th, running the streets with thugs and dodging bullets and busting caps all throughout Los Angeles to traveling worldwide (39 countries and counting) said adios to America and began a new life as an expat. All thanks be to God. ALL thanks. If I can start a channel so can you. It all starts with the Lord✝️. Have faith in Him. Because He most definitely has your back.

Even worse yet, I've seen it get ugly. The interviewee demanded that the interviewer not release the interview or take it down for certain reasons after they put all that time into it. If you have a release form it will protect you from that. I hope that helps.
@@seekellavation Thank you for valuable info
@ my pleasure!
That crossed my mind also. It's muddy waters at best but most likely copyright infringement. 😅
Nice work
I needed to see this! I have started and stopped wayyy too many times! I said when I turned 50 (this past July ) it was MY season to get back on my journey to a better me (my channel name) and I have let life get in the way. I have a whole bunch of videos and shorts I’ve never posted. I’m getting back to it! I’ll sit down tonight and write my restart plan🤎
Cheers to anyone else restarting their journey as well🤎
Let’s go
The best slogan I’ve ever heard and one that holds me accountable and stays in my mind every day is, you gotta just press record! I hope think media never changes that. Because it’s so true!
Boom!!
I’m 63 and this is definitely the path I’m on! Thank you for the conversation
Awesome
Thank you for this..I needed to watch this..I woke up with anxiety and doubt this morning again.I had to pray to calm my spirit..I am 45 and ditched 9 to 5 in August this year to pursue what has been stuck inside of me for years..I have just not had the courage to start a personal TH-cam channel yet..I hope to share my testimony one day as I know God is about to do huge supernatural things !!
Just press record
@@OneRentalataTimeThank you 🙏
THIS. I'm your 13th subscriber. Don't let fear hold you back. Let me know when you post your first video. Share your testimony because God knows I could use a testimony to remind me of His goodness. 💖💖💖
@@janeyparkxyzAwwww..thank you for the encouragement..God bless you😊❤🥴
I turn 45 in january. I have started and given up several times. I hope to stay consistent this time. You've got this.
Over 50 club, almost 60 club, here. This is awesome! I am a former educator who hasn't posted one video, yet. I'm building my pipeline in advance so I don't have to be stressed on creating the next video with a chance of missing a post date. Love this!

Very, very insightful, gentlemen!
Just turned 50 and is in the process of starting over in a new career space.🙏
You got it!
This talk is golden 🔥🫡
Beautiful
I needed this video today. I turned 40 in August but feel like I have lived many lives. I would love to share those with others and it would probably be another layer of healing for me.
Awesome
@@MindsetinMomentum yeah unfortunately it was before I started, but hope you enjoy 🔥😊
Love it
OMG. I am listening to Michael for the first time. In love. He is saying exactly what I'm feeling. He gave such a boost to carry on on YT. Brilliant.
Amazing!! You got this
👏👏👏
🩵 just subbed!
@vixenxiiiv thank you. ❤️
This is SO GOOD and just what I needed at this point as I'm currently in the middle of creating my mini-course on Teachable due to the same questions being asked over and over again. I'm in my 50's. Thank you for this video & interview Omar! 💥
🔥 appreciate you!!
Enjoy the journey it is so fun
This is probably my first time hearing an entire podcast from anyone. This is excellent. Thank you.
40 club now. This was a great! And I am jumping in the mix of brand builders. Wish me luck! 🤞🏾
Fun
Turned 40 this year and excited for this
You got this!
Happy birthday!! Enjoy
I'm in my 40s too and I appreciate this message. Fellow Millenial who just started TH-cam a month ago! Just subbed to your channel sis! We got this 💖
I’m turning 41 in January and this year I have began to build my brand since August and it’s been great.
Awesome
I am 42 and started on TH-cam 2 years ago. I am creating content for over 40s to be inspired to design their (retirement) lives and create content on TH-cam to fund it. This was useful. Thank for sharing.
Loved this conversation. I will be 40 in August and my goal is to live in purpose and share my life. I can honestly say thank you to the Lord because He has truly redeemed the time. Until you're last breath Live, make mistakes and learn. Then go TEACH ❤❤❤❤❤
Love it
I feel this.

What came to my mind upon reading your message was tell them to just do it.
Appreciate this video I’ll be 40 in less then 2 months I was in my own way!!! Thank you!!!!
I learned so much from this episode and walking away with so many gems. Thanks, can't wait to implement these strategies.

I just started my channel helping people heal from chronic illness and trauma. I’m so happy to finally be speaking my truth!
Just what I needed to hear i turned 45 last month and I really awkward doing content at my age. Thanks for sharing

I guess.
I love this platform, it always brings value in many areas. Very well balanced! Specially if you are starting or rebuilding a channel!
Absolutely!

This is so inspirational. At this point in life I am learning how important CONSISTENCY is. The time goes by anyway. It's better to be several thousand "unwatched" videos in at age 50, 60, 70 ... than starting over and over and over and not gaining any headway. It all builds on itself.
Great interview!
Subbed

I see what Mike is talking about in the next 2 years. I’m so glad I’m finally starting because it’s not gonna get any easier. Barrier to entry is low but the growth will take time

All the best.

I went from smoking sherm and m*th, running the streets with thugs and dodging bullets and busting caps all throughout Los Angeles to traveling worldwide (39 countries and counting) said adios to America and began a new life as an expat.
