You're similar to my husband and I - did a three week Euro adventure in June and flew SQ J to LHR and QR J back to Bali, then economy for the last leg to Sydney (which was amazingly cheap at $400/ea). The economics just did not stack up for business, so we suffered through, and at the end of the day it wasn't terrible. I couldn't deal with a stinking hot cabin though....

I find Thai Airways flight departure times from BKK to be unappealing. Yes. I think the Penang curry is the star of their meals. If you found not serving wine to be concerning, then you should see their face if you ask for 3rd beer during the flight. 😆
@2.14 what did they check? are we allowed to bring packaged food in the carryon luggage?
Foods OK I think. But they made me throw out the water bottle I took from the lounge.
