I find it stupid you can't just replace the actual knob. My friends knob broke off and and it still works but now he has to press in a little nub that is normally pressed in when you pull the button. From a logical stand point you should be able to just replace the knob and not the entire assembly. I guess as is with a lot of luxury cars they just love making it more complicated than it needs to be
@@mannyb8056 even if it's not the whole assembly it's still more than it should be. If only the knob breaks i shouldn't need to take apart the area around the shifter. It would make a lot more sense if the knob could come off by itself.
I bought the new shifter knob from a GM online parts store. Reportedly you can purchase just the knob itself without the boot and that lower silver bezel, however keep in mind I do not have videos on removing the boot and bezel, and haven’t found any videos showing how to remove those. So if buying just the knob is the route you’re going to take, beware.
Because u didn't even show how to replace it and u actually do have to break the piece off after cutting the zip tie to replace it! This video showed none of that!!!
I have been looking to do this for a whole year
How did you disconnect the electrical
Part
Wow so useful 💀

That’s not even the whole assembly. That is just the knob and shift bezel, the rest of the shift assembly is underneath that part.

It IS possible, despite GM selling only the entire shift assembly. I bought only the knob on eBay for like $11 and had my mechanic replace it.
Where did you buy the new shifter

Did u find out. I'm having trouble too
MrBey735 I will need you to be more specific.
I have a 2015 verano and the key is stuck in the ignition and it won’t release
Mine did that. Come to find out it was the button stuck on my shifter
@@meganholsinger1074 Yup, I bit the bullet and paid for a new shifter assembly.
Press in the little clips with a flat head. It’s right there.
Where can I get thIs part from
Any gm online parts catalogue. You will need your VIN for the most accurate pricing.
How much you paid for the piece
I have this exact problem but you didnt show the electrical connections or even the internals of what broke.
See video #1 on what broke. As for the connections there is one small connector underneath the silver bezel somewhere on the left side.
See the first two minutes of video. The button came apart.
Ms. B for what?? Lol
Title says verano.... video says Regal in the first 5 seconds.
Both use the same shift knob and assembly. They even come apart the same way.
It's the same thing in this case
This was a waste of time 😒
How so?

Ah. See video 2, this is video 1.
Wtf
U tlk to much like damn say how to do it without the extra
I try to give as many tips and tricks as possible in these tutorials so the viewer does not wind up breaking anything they will need to put back.
Ignore them. Thanks for talking us through it.
