India's proposed acquisition of Voronezh Radar System from Russia for US $4Billion... Key Features of the System Modular Construction: Prefabricated, standardized components enable faster assembly (12-18 months) and lower costs. Multiple Frequency Bands: Variants operate in VHF, UHF, and S-bands, improving detection range, accuracy, and resilience to jamming. Long-Range Detection: Capable of monitoring airspace thousands of kilometers away, with some models reaching up to 6,000 km. High Target Discrimination: Advanced digital processing helps differentiate between warheads, decoys, and other objects, providing more reliable threat assessments. Energy Efficiency and Cost Savings: Modern design reduces operating costs compared to older Soviet-era systems. Integrated Early-Warning Network: Functions alongside satellites and command centers, ensuring timely and coordinated responses to potential missile threats. Strategic Placement: Deployed across Russia in locations like Armavir, Kaliningrad, and Lekhtusi to cover critical directions and enhance national security.
I don’t think Indian government is using its resources wisely since India can’t compete with arm to arm parity. India should invest more in domestic R&D and develop a strategy that can nullify the external threat. The aerial bomb delivery platforms are getting smaller and stealthier in invading advance radar technologies. I think India is buying future museum pieces that can become obsolete very quickly as technology is changing at a rapid speed. I don’t think that India would able to fully deploy the radars in at least five years to ten years. I think India is buying these equipment from Russia as to please Russians and believing Russians would help against future Chinese aggression..
