Thank you so much. Your's is the first video that showed EXACTLY how to slide and lock this flooring together. My wife and we're having the hardest time trying to get it down right.
Getting ready to install Nucore in my house in a couple weeks so wanted to get an idea of how installation went. Awesome video, but honestly what stuck out most is that old wood floor. My grandmother had that old flooring in her house and I remember as a kid helping strip it and relacquer it. Where was Nucore then?! Lol
Getting ready to start our new floor for the first time I live in Las Vegas should be installing it in about two weeks so if you decide you’re going to Vegas to have a good time give me a holler maybe you can give me some advice I love your videos I watch them all the time
@@JonesKnows It went great so far! I got about 300 sq ft done so far. But we live 3+ hours from our cabin...so I'll have to continue in another week or so. Your tips worked great!
My necore vinyl plank has a corked padding on the back to from floor and decor mines whislting hills, installing over concrete. Should i use a exstra padding underlayment underneath. I installed my LVP over old hardwood floors and used a padded underlayment. It feels like it had to much give and flex. Can i just install the LVP flooring over the concrete subfloor with a plastic vaper barrier? I had to pull LVP up recently wood floors under where warped. So I'm hoping to do it right this time around i was hearing a rice crispy sound when i had the plastic 6 mill recommended underlayment idn if it was do to the old hardwood unleveled or the underlayment. Thank you for these videos
Hey man, I had a leak in my bathroom which caused a few slats of the nucore vinyl flooring to bubble in my hallway, what would be the best way in replacing those/repairing those? I have plenty of slats leftover, any feedback/help would be greatly appreciated. Trying to figure out the best approach before I just pull them out.
Looking into installing the NuCore myself. Do I need to use an underlayment to install this floor? Floor and decor recommends the "Sentinel protect Plus underlayment. " But it is pricey. Is it ok to install without the underlayment?
Installing SmartCore Ultra (Lowe's) in my basement in Utah (Dry climate) Do I need a vapor barrier to put down before the vinyl plank? Thanks for all the videos!
@jonesknows hi Tim, I am doing 2000 sq ft and really like the price and features of NuCore product, but I am concerned about the denting and “softness” I’m reading online. Would you say this is a great product you trust? TYSM!
How did you cut the first 3 starting planks to get the random look? You cut a small piece off the 1st plank at the very start but how much am I cutting off? Measurements please. Thank you
Nucore on ground level, yes. This job's in a condo on the 3rd or 4th floor so its not needed. However products like Lifeproof you don't need moisture barrier. Every product is different.
Where do you buy your Nucore? I'm not seeing it on any websites for the big box stores near me? I was hoping to go look at it before I proceed. Thanks ahead of time.
Hi. From NJ. Thanks for the videos. Very helpful. Question: before deciding on color, we bought a single box to layout first to see if we like it. 5 of the 10 panels have the same wood grain pattern which I don’t like. We have Spalted Maple. I think you said to shuffle boxes during the installation. Do they have different patters in each box? Thanks.
Most flooring manufactures will do anywhere from 5 to 10 different patterns. Chances are if you don't like 5 of them you are probably not going to like that floor since you have probably seen at least half the boards. You might want to keep looking. Whats the product and color ? I'm curious. I might have a picture of the floor if its a popular one. I take a lot more pic then I do videos.
I'm about to put some in my kiddo's room right now. Picked out mixed cabinwood. Ripping out the old carpet, foam, tack strips and old baseboards was a lot of work, but next time, I'll be more efficient. So here we go!
Good Luck. Yeah removing the carpet and tack strips is a pain in the neck and can sometimes be more work then the flooring. The floor is the easy part now your on the home stretch.
@@JonesKnows Ok, it's in. Looks fantastic. Wish I would have had a power undercut saw for the door jams. Also, I should have painted the room before putting the flooring in. So now we will give it the test of time. Going to do the downstairs bathroom next. Should go quicker now that I've got a little experience and the old flooring is intact. Thanks for the video.
@@robmckee5295 Thank You. I'm glad to here it came out good. An oscillating saw works really good as a jamb saw. Make sure you pull the toilet and install it under the toilet. Its a lot easier and looks better then trying to cut around it.
I noticed you're not tapping with a mallet along the long joint. Is there a reason you aren't. Every other install video they do that on every plank...
Hello, I’m not sure if you’ve had a chance to see my other comment but do you have any experience with Lowe’s ProCore Plus vinyl brand? I am thinking about getting it but the wear layer is only 12 mil compared to NuCores 22mil. Is there a way to contact your directly for questions?
Yes you can call me at 954-225-5106 anytime. Working on commercial job right now so anytime after 10am tomorrow or any day. I'm on eastern standard time. I'd be happy to explain the difference in the floorings. I have installed Procore a couple of times.
OK, I’ll guess I’ll be the one to address the elephant in the room. I understand that vinyl plank flooring has its uses especially if you’re installing over an ugly concrete slab or plywood substrate. Why on earth would you install vinyl plank flooring over real hardwood floors instead of refinishing the real hardwood floors?
Everyone who makes these DO IT YOURSELF vinyl floor installation videos is hell bent on telling everyone how easy it is. Well, it isn't.... especially of you're inexperienced.
This is exactly why I make these videos so people, especially those who are inexperienced, can learn how to install the right way! The first time will always be the hardest! It WILL get easier! Just take your time! You should've seen my first laminate installation LOL It was my own house thankfully and it took me forever to finish! I WISH I had You Tube videos to watch and learn from back then!!

Was this filmed at ASEB in Berkeley?
How much did you cut off 1st, 2nd and 3rd starter rows to begin with? Just enough to have staggered end joints not duplicated across the rows?

Cut one 18", the second one 36" start with a full lenght.
I keep seeing installs on concrete without moisture barrier- is it needed since nucore is waterproof?

Floor & Décor. They're a national flooring store chain and they have stores all over the country.

I can’t watch because of the annoying buzzing in the background!!!!
Good. We suggest you go fly a kite.
You guys didn’t even clean the original floor before installing suck beautiful one…
It seems like the job was done poorly…
Mom called, she expects you home by 9 pm or you're grounded.
