Thanks guys, this is great. I own two guitars that sing like angels - a Suhr Modern Satin, and a Mike Lipe Virtuoso (#057!) - the rest are just good guitars. I'm looking forward to adding a PRS to the angel choir, possibly a CE 24. And as a guy who spent most of his life in Maryland, it'll be nice to have a little touch of home.
I appreciate all of the research that has gone into refining the Custom but I love my `88 Custom 24 and my `89 CE-24 and would not change one thing on either one.
I'm curious, is the rules of tone implementation on your SE series as well or just on the American made guitars? Is the wood fully crystallized in Korea? Are the bridge, tuners, nut etc. all optimized to favor the rules of tone for your SE line?
Spiritbro77 Well, I'd guess that they broadly apply the general ideas of those rules, but inside a certain budget. So, lets say the american serieses are just built with the best stuff they can think of and then they cost what they cost, while the SE for example is more like "yeah, lets keep those ideas and make the best out of em, but with parts that allow us to built a 1k guitar. That's how I'd do it, and I think paul is smart enough for that.
Physics - subtractive. Yup. You pluck the string and put energy into the system - its all downhill from there. Design to preserve desired frequencies, and suppress undesired ones - that's about all you can do.
Is it true that Paul plans to sell " The Rules of Tone" in a "private stock" leather bound book with pearl dragon inlays on the cover in an "investment grade" presentation brazilian rosewood box limited to 2500 signed copies for $4500 or is that just a rumor? -oops, just gave him another money making marketing idea--all you doctors and lawyers can put your wallets back...for now...
What's the serial number of the guitar? I think its mine top10 PRS (2011 production)!!! Looks exactly the same :D
i´m sure the case changes had a huge influence on the tone...

Sublyme huh?
AT 2:50 WHEN PAUL PLAYS WITH THE SWITCH YOU CAN HEAR THE RINGING OF THE GUITAR! TRUELY AMAZING!

They would have to let the Asian people see the "rules of tone" and that would be like losing the "arce of the covenant"
does this changes effect every USA made PRS
how do they get feedback from the market?
@Longggone they are a part of you like my 93 whale blue 24 custom with birds , I know how you feel.

what's a guitar luthier???????????
+Dont Fuck With Me! he cleans the guitar after it's been built.
Spam'n'egg. Well that's dumb. I can clean my Ltd in a matter of seconds

"Shaft"
Long on marketing, short on rules of tone.
I think you're asking too much. That'd be like if coca-cola made a video revealing their secret formulas.
I will never buy a PRS again. I've heard enough B.S for a lifetime from this delusional egomaniac!
