Thank you Candy for an excellent video, the steps were clear, precise instructions provided. I must give this a go. You reminded me of Whole Elise a very calm approach. H
idk why people can’t get over it not calculating . It’s a little bit extra left over. Which is fine with me. What i with it is just keep my own little personal spray bottles and all the left overs from making my products i use for myself .. that way when i test i don’t have to spray the bottles i will be selling . And also i just use the “extra” spray around my house . It’s not that serious guys.
This is the best & video I’ve seen on room sprays yet. Now that 7 day cure time threw me 😂 but I’m definitely going to try this. Been looking for a clear version without having to buy a base & wanted to mk my own ❤ it! Thanks sis. One question does adding more fo make the solution stronger & last longer?
You can make large amounts of the base yes because it take about 7-14 days to actually settle. But iam not sure how long you can hold it in that state for
Hi Candy, Loved your video. I have one question about the 7 days . In the video you put a lid on the bowl. IS that what you put sitting for 7 seven day? I tried this recipe and bottled right away and let the bottles sit on the shelf for 7 days but now my lids are cracking. I'm wondering if i was supposed to bottle after it sat in a glass bowl for 7 seven days now. your help is much appreciated.
You can bottle right away look into your containers that your using that sounds like a bad container. Butters how it works if you let see it in glass than transfer to plastic. And see how it sets for you
It’s glass 4 oz bottles but the lid I believe is plastic silver coat. I think I might change to a new glass vessel with metal lid. Thank you for clarifying ❤
@bernicehebbard9894 metal lid would be perfect but the silver coat might not work well with the fumes from the perfume Anytime hun keep me updated please 🙏🏾
Thank you for posting this, I need help. I tried to make this in bulk (10 bottles at a time) and I'm guessing the error was my math. The scent of the perfumery alcohol was so dominant and w/i a week it started to turn color. Any suggestions to help fix this? Making smaller batches requires more time.
I think you should do a test run with one bottle get you measurements right or the way you like it. Than once you do you should multiply your ingredients by the number of broths used let it sit in a glass container for a week n see how that does ..
I don’t think it’ll work the say I tried it but don’t remember the re but I know they couldn’t have been good else I would have used that I’m the video for y’all .. but you would have to test it and see how you like the product
just make the solution minus the percent of fo needed ex if you need 30% fo for what ever amount you need just subtract that from the amount you make... lik if you make 1 gallon just subtract 30% from it
@krissya6768 oh ok iam sorry but it is something that is optional that’s why I put how much to use for the amount that I made it’s an option product you don’t really need it the ones in the video is the best option
Hi, your video was very informative. Thank you! Could I use the Walmart- Equate Pure vegetable based glycerin 99.5% anhydrous? Also, Since I don’t have the perfumer alcohol, can I just use distilled water and a preservative to the formula? Do you think that would work?
Distilled water would make it a room spray try using which hazel. And test that out but I believe it’ll make it a room spray also Honestly your have to test these items and see if they work to your liken yes you can use them but it is still up to how your want you products to last smell sep and so on
Ok yall, the numbers are bugging me. I know the percentages total to 121%. *But* the ounces total to 7.46oz (which is less than a 8oz bottle). So I recalculated the percentages of each ingredient in the 7.46oz batch. {8.85% fragrance oil + 17.69%poly80 + 56.30%perfumers alcohol +16.09%witch hazel + 1.07%glycerin} this will give me 100%. Can any math wiz double check for me please?
IF YOU LOOK AT MY RECIPE IN THE DISCRIPTION IT SHOULD GO OVER 100 GIVING YOU A FEW MORE OUNCES OF PRODUCT BUT ALL MEASURMENTS GO OFF THE AMOUNT OF PRODUCTS YOU PLAN TO MAKE
I was thinking the exact same thing. 👏🏼 The whole concept of percentage is THE TOTAL MUST ADD UP TO 100%. The actual word, PERCENT (per cent) means parts per hundred. If the total doesn’t add up to 100% then you’ve done something wrong and should go back to the drawing board and try again.

i tried hawthorne botanica recipe with the exception of the veg glycerin and i have had 0 problems with it. the fragrance holds up nice, i put dried rose buds in it, yes within a matter of minutes they turned into like a blush faded pink color but it looks great inside the glass bottle. its been curing for exactly one week and its still clear still smells great no fading or discoloration from the dried roses. i dont know whats the disconnect everyone is having with it not being 100%
How much vegetable glycerin do you put in the recipe? I didn't hear it

@@CandyMonia understood thanks for the feedback hun. Stay blessed & favored ☺️
I know this video is old. I just wanted to say the cure time should be much longer than 7 days. I learned this from a professional perfume makers.
I highly recommend getting a better scale for accurate measurements.
oh ok please send me some links for better recommendations.
@@CandyMonia I don't have any links for scales, Amazon is hit or miss.

Hi, what can i use instead of witch hazel? I cannot find it where I live😢
Perfume alcohol
@@CandyMonia thank you ❤️
So calming ❤️
Thank you so much hun
Are you still using this current recipe? Thanks for sharing I appreciate it.
Yes only thing really change is the scent I have tried with other ingredients but nothing has worked the same
Hi and thank you. Can I use polysorbate 20 instead of 80?
I don’t think it’ll work the say I tried it but don’t remember the re but I know they couldn’t have been good else I would have used that I’m the video for y’all .. but you would have to test it and see how you like the product
Do you sell the sprays you've made already?
No ma’am did you want them? Write me on ig
What size labels do you use???
You can use square labels by Avery
Hi, I can use it to make reed diffusers? Thank you ❤️
I don’t think this formula would be great for that but the formula is similar
How can this be made into a base so you can add FO later?
just make the solution minus the percent of fo needed
ex if you need 30% fo for what ever amount you need just subtract that from the amount you make... lik if you make 1 gallon just subtract 30% from it
Do you add the glycerin before or after curing?
It’s mixed with the ingredients hun look at the description
@@CandyMonia Actually you left that part out of the video but on your notes it shows 1% glycerin and 1% DPG sooooo......

Love this video. You have achieved a clear room spray. But is it oily when sprayed?
Nope I use them in my house
Have you tried this without the Veggie Glycerin? If so what was the out come?
Yes smell isant as strong and sent evaporated quicker
Why glycerin?
THE THICKNESS HELPS IT STICK AND LASTB LONGER TO THE ITEM WEATHER CLOTHS OR SKIN

@@CandyMonia Hi, do you know about the Vetiver- Perfumer alcohol being DENATURED?
I don’t I used it
Where did you order your perfume with alcohol and what's the part I'm having problems with Also What does the witch Hazel do
A variety of places and it is also a place holder for perfume alcohol.. but for room spray
What percentage of perfumers alcohol & witch hazel do you use for your total?
I wrote it out in the description bar
I overlooked it, sorry. Thank you!
@@menriquez1350 absolutely

Hello 👋. Love the video. What would you recommend a substitute for witch hazel?
Perfumers alcohol
I'm just making sure. It says "add at the end" it could've meant after curing
U didn’t show when did u added glycerine!!!
I realized that and added it to the description bar
@@CandyMonia sorry I didn’t get u by “description bar”. If u don’t mind to tell plz. Thank u
The recipe doesn’t equal 100%. It goes over.
Yes that is true.. it’s a method to the madness love bug. It may go over but it works
❤️❤️
Formulas are supposed to be 100% This is not accurate. It looks like Hawthorne Botanica. It wasn't adding up there either.
