Leo Burke was my favorite wrestler as a little boy growing up in Nova Scotia. My Mom and my great aunt used to take me to Grand Prix Wrestling and they both would go on and on about how handsome they thought Leo Burke was.
Angel Acevedo (Cuban Assassin) is Puerto Rican, not Cuban. Angel Peron and Chicky Peron are also Puerto Rican, better known in Puerto Rico as two of the greatest heels in Puerto Rican wrestling history: El Profe and Chicky Starr. El Profe wrestled his last match last weekend and Chicky Starr is surprisingly still active, after having life threatening health issues.
I only found out in the past year that The Cuban Assassin was actually from Puerto Rico, while listening to Rene Dupree's podcast. Cuban was a legend in the Maritimes wrestling scene.
The first program yes Leo Burke was the Maritimes. He was a tag team Champion with a distant relative of mine Big Stephen Petitpas in Grand Prix wrestling run by Emile Dupree, Rene' dad
That last card featured Mr. Fuji, who was also working in WWWF at the time and was about to win the WWWF tag titles with Professor Toru Tanaka. Jim made a small mistake on that card: The Alaskan was NOT Jay York, it was his tag partner and kayfabe brother Mike York (real last name, I believe, O'Leary) teaming with Frank Monte that night. Jay had taken a sabbatical from wrestling to tour and record with Delaney & Bonnie as a percussionist. He didn't return to wrestling until the band broke up in, I think, 1973.
Why? He's just another moron lying in shoot interviews. He gets a lot of business because wrestling fans are a pretty stupid and easily led lot, generally.

It really is a shame the Midnight Express weren't better booked in World Class. After defeating the Fantastics, they could have had a run with Rock & Soul, (even if Jim did think Buck Zumhofe was the shits- he was considered a top LHW around that time), then top it off with Kerry and Kevin after their feud with the Dynamic Duo.
