I spoke with a guy in the airport on my first trip out to Thailand, Pattaya in 1999. He explained all this was starting to happen. He explained the beach and 2nd rd etc were going for the family appeal pushing the girlie bars back into 3rd road and small so is leading up. It’s all happening now and there’s no stopping it. Good luck to all you expats out there now and the changes coming 🙏🏻
Hi Trev, I've been to the Classroom bar many many times. Always had a good time with Peter and the Ladies. The Classroom Hotel is really good aswell. SOI 13/4.
You walked by the Bamboo Club next to the entrance to Walking Street. Pretty famous history and still an Interesting place to people watch later in the evening if you like the oldies. My buddy loves it as he has had good luck.
The first bar I went too in 2002 was in 13/3 called Denbar……. Lots of good memories and this was before Boys town bars started to take over. In 2002 there was loads of GoGo bars along with Classroom. Cheers for doing the walk Trev
Are you still doing Soi 15 and if so can you walk around the area of Whisper Hotel and KoKotel and there is a eating area on the corner leading up to the 2 hotels. You cant miss the hotels on Soi 15 about 2 minutes up from 2nd road. Looking forward top going to Buzzing bar
I love beer but I gave it up to lower my blood sugar and to lose weight. It makes such a difference! I have lost 15 lbs. in two months. Distilled spirits, especially clear ones, don’t have any carbohydrates so use water or a diet soda and you will do well. Dry red wine is very low in carbs, too. I have changed my diet and I feel twenty years younger.
Wow i cant believe the classroom is still there! I was there back in 07 and we partied pretty good in there! Lol i seen the old balcony at the penthouse I was on pre gaming! it was a great time! Thanks alot for doing the video Trevor!
Yes I was in Lewinskis. The air con was blowing air, but the settings was so high it did not cool the bar. Saving electricity I suppose. One drink and I was gone.
I told them, and the next time I went in there, the same racket was in action. Plus, they were selling half litres of beer, which is 50cl, claiming it was a pint. A pint is 56cl. But many bars in Pattaya do the same. However, Lewinskis was a long time ago, and all might be good now.
Good to hear the dieting is still going well Trev, even though you are doing it the traditional way. Made me think about how much I have lost since I was in Pattaya this time last year - I'm 55kg down. But I've had a gastric bypass operation, plus I had a heck of a lot more to lose than you... That Thai heat would be more bearable now, maybe I should go again..
Far too many bars in Pattaya, with no staff to work them! All the ‘smart’ ladies, are now heading for various countries with a much better potential of work and a higher paid salary, along with a healthier lifestyle. Good luck to them all. Thanks for great vlog Trev.
heya Trevor (aka #4(if you know you know)) good morning looks like things have been going well. hello Bo if you read these thank you for all the help you do for Trevor. good walk with a bonus at the end for you.

Hey Trev, I've noticed a couple of times now that when you go down Soi 13/4 you don't mention Sue's Place. Can you give an update on that place. Have had some good times there in the past.
Penthouse and the Kitten Club were interesting places to visit. You skipped the small street between 13-4 and 13-3. MOW boy bar used to be on that NW side of that street. It was a opportune place to get out of the sun on a hot afternoon and get a cheap cold drink w/o the usual hassle.
Hey Trev, random question, but do the prices for short time increase during busy season (December - Feb)? I’ve noticed going rate these days are 1500-2000 which is reasonable to me
They want to attract high earners and the Asian middle class is growing. The new tax rules are however gonna backfire in my opinion. People are not willing to pay the 35% on their income or savings. So tourism will be more Asia-oriented but for residence I think that the potential - financially savvy - newcomers will rather opt for other countries in SE Asia. The fact that the rules keep on changing and are not always clear, does also scare the wealthy pensioners.
i stayed at the penthouse in 97 ,98, 99 and 2000. across the road from classroom was a gogo bar called planet rock. 13/4 had about 5 go go bars and about 4 open bars. was a very popular and lively street. Very eerie now like a ghost town at night.
I dated the manager of the the Penthouse Pattaya briefly last month. On our second date, she showed me the newly renovated rooms in that place. Still a lot of the same old from before(swings and poles in the rooms). Now they got 8k smart tvs. That's cool
Several years ago my husband and I went there and asked about all of that...because he had bought me a plaque on my first visit. They took them all down for the remodel and for a while they were keeping the ones that were still in tact in a room upstairs. They allowed us to go up there to search for the plaque but sadly it must have been one of the ones that got destroyed (they mentioned that this happened to some of them).
My mate and I sometimes pop into Sue's Place for some cheesy nachos and a cheeky margarita now and again. That tailor opposite is the only guy in Pattaya I will ever give time to. The Chinese have always been coming to Thailand, especially for their New Year holidays, which coincides with high season in February was quite surprised to see that when I got to Bangkok airport about 25 years ago
@@Steven-t9s There are barbershops up there but not the old style shops where there were all in colour-coded blazers and and did a full range of services in the chair. I think they have completely disappeared.
It is obvious who they are targeting for the majority of Pattaya now, however, I think that there will be a British/European area in future that just caters for us. I personally feel this might be even better than it was. The bar owners and restaurant owners should form a comittee and plan to find a suitable area that is cheaper on rents and then aquire property/leases there by stealth using Thai wives/fronts etc
The Soi 13s are a shadow of their former selves. They used to be one of the main areas in town - especially in the daytime - before it became boys town.
alright trev appi tuesday top vid i agree on the tripod i did a video last week only 6 mins long near the spaghetti van went viral on tik tok take care have a mint week ahead
I think they will try to move the lady entertainment zones away from beach and tourist area to try to bring in more family vacationers along with the Chinese and Indian clientele. Hope I am wrong, but it does seem they want Pattaya to be of a vacation destination for all. With so many people having issues with the Girl venues they will try to put them in lower traffic areas to entice families to come.
Had many good times, in Pattaya. So many years. So many tears of joy. Fun for years. Dreams come true. Wowza!

Most looked closed, are you sure they aren't just closed because it's off season and don't wanna pay workers with few customers?
Maybe mate
The Chinese have always been coming to Thailand, especially for their New Year holidays, which coincides with high season in February was quite surprised to see that when I got to Bangkok airport about 25 years ago
Gotcha mate
Where have all the lady barber shops gone?
Not sure
Pattaya Klang end of Soi Bukaow.
@@Steven-t9s There are barbershops up there but not the old style shops where there were all in colour-coded blazers and and did a full range of services in the chair. I think they have completely disappeared.

Can you show me a good coffee shop with cakes in Pattaya please?
See what I can do
It is obvious who they are targeting for the majority of Pattaya now, however, I think that there will be a British/European area in future that just caters for us. I personally feel this might be even better than it was. The bar owners and restaurant owners should form a comittee and plan to find a suitable area that is cheaper on rents and then aquire property/leases there by stealth using Thai wives/fronts etc
absolutely
The Soi 13s are a shadow of their former selves. They used to be one of the main areas in town - especially in the daytime - before it became boys town.
Sad but true
Fra Pattaya food is very nice

Pattaya is still a great place. A man just has to know where the best places are.
I know where they are, and I'm not telling. 😅

Haha heck yea Pattaya is great !
I agree
