    Wow, what a nightmare, you did a great job getting everything in sync and sorting it out though...those are the kind of jobs that make you really appreciate what you accomplished.

    Great job! I am a building contractor. It pays to hire knowledgeable electricians. So basically you had to configure the whole wiring system, on top of time for install. Bet that customer didn't like that $20k bill but at least they know there suppression systems will work in the time of need. I love when I hit complicated snags on my side. That's when you can truly test your skills. Awesome job!

    Did you have to tie in any co detectors?
    In Massachusetts we have a separate gas solenoid that closes if the co detector in the kitchen trips.
    Also the exhaust has to interlock to allow the solenoid to open.
    It adds another layer of cluster to the f ck. Lol
    I just did a decent job for my shop.
    The construction electricians who roughed the building had no clue.
    The hood was existing with no control cabinet.
    They basically ran a bunch of mc to one spot and labeled them poorly.
    I was sent to the site to program and test the fire alarm. But the site super started picking my brain and I ended up wiring all the hood controls .
    Fun job

    Great work Josh. Please keep making videos of specialty work like this, I'm in central Florida, just started at a fire protection company.
    Challenging jobs are the fun jobs.
    The more information, the better, keep up the good work.

    Looks like it was definitely a challenge to get all of that straightened out. My only concern would be the LFNC running into the dog house. It doesn't look like it's secured within 12 inches of the box and why not just route it through the existing opening instead of through the side and caulking it? Just a curious newbie, not trying to be a armchair electrician. Great work overall!

      I did not wire this box, there was three other electrical companies that gave up on this job. They did NOT WANT US to rewire eveything, just pick up the pieces and wire the next 70% that was not in and was not killing the buckeyes.

      @@Petersonelectricllc Ah, I see, makes sense in that regard then. Thanks for the reply and thanks for posting so much content, I know it makes every job take that much longer to do when you film it, but I do learn a ton from watching your videos!

      I'm surprised the health dept. passed the flex on the surface of the wall. I think that the State of Co DORA was wanting this passed after three years of waiting and was more concerned of the safety of the employees and the Air handlers turning off and the exhaust vent hoods staying on in three kitchens in the same areas.

    Just found your video because a store owner asked me to hook up an ansul system, which I've never done but I'm capable with instruction. My issue is, how is the power shut off incase of a fire

    • @GixxerJake
      @GixxerJake 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If the fire suppression system is triggered it will actuate a microswitch in the control head of the system.... I'm pretty sure...

    • @stevenghee654
      @stevenghee654 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Like other commenter said, microswitch in fire panel sets it all of & either shunt trip breakers or contactors/relays kill power to everything that need to shut down

    Just moved into new kitchen at a school. Gfci breakers on all 20 amp outlets in kitchen per code. Over spring break, most of the breakers tripped. Head electrician at the job told me that will happen during power outage. So he’s telling me if power goes out on weekend, then all the food in reachin coolers and freezers will be lost. Not buying that. I believe something not connected right. My understanding it could happen on a power dimming and that is a power company issue. Waiting on the electrical engineer to assess

    I guess every fire martial is diff in what they want or nfpa. Ive wired these hoods in the not with the extreme shut downs they would of been going with a seperate system and have the fire alarm just monitor the ansul system. But every place is diff i guess. Good job anyways Josh.
