this song was so life changing when it came out, I feel like I had never heard anything like it and unlike many things from my past it still strikes a chord.
I love the little china chokes during the last breakdown (3:16 till the end), just looks so effortless and like he definitely knows what he is doing. Absolutely smooth playing even though it's not that easy to play.
Matt Greiner, Adam Gray, and Grant Mcfarland are the 3 greatest drummers of Metalcore PS: for those who don't know Matt - August Burns Red Adam - Texas in July Grant - This or the Apocalypse
It's the video that made me know Adam and it's made the # 1 on my list with Matt Greiner, Luke Holland, Alex Ballew and I forget several of the same kind.
What a bummer that it couldn't stick around. Still a lot of cool shows happening on long island though. I'm sure another place will pop up to create memories in soon.
"Undoubtedly Adam executes and perfectly dominates the same, fills, grooves and all the figures on the set, with a solidity and a rigor that stands out in every stroke, by the fact of juggling juggling " Él es un jefe!
I don't know man Adam's parts on Bloodwork are pretty insane and he only had a couple weeks to write. Matt definitely writes some badass parts though especially on their recent albums
i love Matt's playing but Adam just sounds more cohesive in his playing (both are phenomenal). there is a part of me that thinks Adam played this song better than Matt when it comes to the fills because of how effortless and how cohesive his playing was
Jetta King seriously? Robotic would just further mean that Adams better because his playing is clean. He is better than Matt now. Any experienced drummer would see that instantly.
There's a difference in preference. I would rather watch someone play who has emotion and heart who's still fucking amazing.... Rather than someone who simply replicates someone else's stuff. Some people prefer technical and some people prefer style, movement, art. I'm one of he latter.

Adam is a beast! The only drummer who could properly fill in for Matt Greiner!
I agree! He's a monster! Thanks for watching! Don't forget to subscribe!
that loniel guy from letlive did a pretty damn good job that one time
Kevin Fitzsimmons I think that was white washed, no? either way he totally killed it!
I think Luke Holland covered this pretty well too!
Eetu Mellin Drums Adam is matts drum tech and matts drum tech is better than him. Haha love both of them but Adam is on a different level.
Throwback to when Adam gray was Matt greiner’s fill in and Luke holland was Adam gray’s fill in
Legendary!
Notice at 0:49 he puts down the stick on the snare to rest his hand for a second then picks it back up, never missing a beat. savage
That look of pain on his face right beforehand - almost like he was getting a cramp in his arm or hand.
He’s been doing that every now and then since I can remember
Wow I never noticed that before.
The fill at 0:41 is probably my favorite fill in all of metal.
One of my favorites as well. Iconic.
this song was so life changing when it came out, I feel like I had never heard anything like it and unlike many things from my past it still strikes a chord.
how i feel about literally everything they put out lol
I love that he lays his stick down on the snare during the song to strech out his hand haha
i had to take a double take! I didn't see what he did at first i thought he threw it down.
Anthony Fregoso he always do that
I love the little china chokes during the last breakdown (3:16 till the end), just looks so effortless and like he definitely knows what he is doing. Absolutely smooth playing even though it's not that easy to play.
No shit
That ninja stick spin entering the breakdown was life.
3:09 oh sweet mother of... There he goes again
Troy Dawdy it looks so effortless!
Dawdy Drums HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH yea bro
from 0 to steal yo girl xD
OMFG
So clean!!
Amazing drummer. What’s even greater is that you can clearly see his passion when he’s playing.
he plays with a lot of heart for sure
I remember being at this show! ABR and TIJ are my favs and when I learned that Adam was filling in for Matt, knew it was going to be just as epic!
Andrew Mendez right on man! both of these dudes kill it very consistently! thanks for watching!
Yet another beast of a PA drummer🙌
Holy shit dude... I didn't realize how great the drummer from Texas in July really was. He slaughtered this song!
2:55 when jake stop the cymbal.
Adam is not the Matt xDD
Eventhough is one of the best
He is their drum tech now.
3:15 for a sharpened eye only!!
he stop 2 times the cymbal whit his hand (where is jake?)
i think i see this video everyday!!!lol
He does it again 3:32 , adam does this kind of shit all the time lol matt does it occasionally but its alot more pronounced
he does that so fast!
Matt Greiner, Adam Gray, and Grant Mcfarland are the 3 greatest drummers of Metalcore
PS: for those who don't know
Matt - August Burns Red
Adam - Texas in July
Grant - This or the Apocalypse
have you ever heard of Misery Signals?
Grant McFarland is actually now one of ABR’s producers
I prefere Miss may i and born of osiris drummers
Don't forget about Chris Turner from Oceans Ate Alaska.
It's the video that made me know Adam and it's made the # 1 on my list with Matt Greiner, Luke Holland, Alex Ballew and I forget several of the same kind.
Steve Giguere how about chris turner of oceans ate alaska. he's a beast too
This is pure perfection... will start learning this song again!
Go for it!
3:10 That's some Kung-Fu master shit!! DAANMMMMMM!
He's still got it
Holy shit I missed Erra and ABR w Adam Gray at Revolution? Rest in peace to that venue, must've been a killer show!
What a bummer that it couldn't stick around. Still a lot of cool shows happening on long island though. I'm sure another place will pop up to create memories in soon.
Adam Gray is a beast of a drum player...fucken Amazing

2:53 well thank you for holding my cymbal mate
Also, what the heck did he do to him 1:30, I want that too lmfao
I love Adam's game on face >.<
every time
Adam is sick! i watched him setup Matt's kit at Starland Ballroom last year.. after TIJ he became Matt's drum tech i guess
True! Rumor has it he's working on his own stuff soon, but you didn't hear it from me.
6 years later and that China is still so prominent. What a beautiful noise
@3:10 HOLY FUCK THAT STICK TRICK LMAOOOO WILD
Amaaaaaizing!!!!Yeah!!
Who needs to exercise when you play drums in a metal band??
matt g. do his daily run 👊🏾
What a drummer he is! Any idea if he's in a band anymore?
His band Texas in July just released a new EP! You can find the link to their page in the description of the video
Great stage presence
So he's Matt Greiner with a proper technique.
Him and Jake have a strong resemblance.
Adam monster!
This is my fucking guy. That ending though!
what an absolute powerhouse. as much as i love matt, i think adam is the better drummer. matt is probably better at writing drum parts though
I don't know man Adam's parts on Bloodwork are pretty insane and he only had a couple weeks to write. Matt definitely writes some badass parts though especially on their recent albums
Adam is inhumane behind the kit. Watching him play IS awesome.
were you high when you typed this?
3:11 he practically hacked the air
Kevin Corkran i need a tutorial
best drummer ever
3:10 Nice throwback from Hook, Line & Sinner. :)
Love that move
Its all about the muscle memory
Flawless
look who's talking
Freakin Ninja Drummer! Yeah! \m/
Damn ... this guys unreal
I'm sorry if this has been answered already but... Why does Matt Greiner have a double kick setup if he never uses the left one?
Aesthetics :)
i love Matt's playing but Adam just sounds more cohesive in his playing (both are phenomenal). there is a part of me that thinks Adam played this song better than Matt when it comes to the fills because of how effortless and how cohesive his playing was
wow!!!!!!!
Woah!
that was fackin lit
That hand wipe at 0:50 was pro-fesh-un-al.
Awesome
👍
Love his playing... but, loaning my cymbals to him only to watch this video at a later date would mortify me 😂
what a god dang fucking bad ass
I absolutely love how jake does sooo many cymbal mutes for Matt and i guess Adam here
Aw hell yea dude
Yessir!
3:09 Nice!!!
This was while he was getting married right? not because Matt got sick, correct???
That's true! Matt was not sick at the time
What was JT doing there?? That's sick!!! That's better than the video haha.
Oh that's that right, they toured together at the end of last year, didn't they? Damn that show must have been fucking awesome.
He muscles though those blast beats. They're def not easy but super tiring using all wrist and bicep
alguien que me diga que caja lleva se que es una Dw pero no se que modelo 🙏🙏
I feel like I’m in an alternate universe
god... his skills never decrese.
What the fuck is 3:09 man holy shit what a beast
Hahaha adam gray and jake looks like twins.
#AdamGrayForPresident
adam is way more fluent, technical and versatile than matt greiner, but i love greiner drum parts in ABR rather than adam in texas in july.
ex drunmer of texas in july
ABR experience with Joe Rogan
What series of DW snare drum is he using?
pretty sure its a collectors series.
what happened at 0:49? did he hit his finger somewhere? xD
lowtuned he does that periodically to stretch his arm, I believe it's because he sustained an injury in the past
0:07 looks like he's looking at himself
2:58 when you are home alone
hahaha!
Adam and Jake look like twins
that china mutes on 3:15
3:11
destroy that fuckin kit adam fuck it cymbals are cheap too... kidding your a huge inspiration
There's no different. Hmmm
I could watch this without sound
adam looks like jake and dustin lol
it's only a matter of time before Matt and Brent join the crew.
Conistency.
Honestly, I think he plays ABR songs better than Matt does.... lol
jpughdrums nooo
No fucking way lol he's more robotic than Matt.... matt plays with his heart
And since when is Matt not clean? There's barely a difference. One guy is an artist and the other is just a copy machine.
:49 broke a stick
Dennis Brown He didnt. He rested it on the snare and picked it back up of you rewatch it.
blast beats were poor imo
Its a stack. I wish I could tell you what he was using. Hit him up on socials he will probably respond
