Best remedy for moving on from divorce is working holiday. You chose the right direction. New country new lover every thing fresh so easy to forget past . Good luck
I find it awesome that you're going somewhere where you won't be surrounded by that many people from your own country. That will make you really get out of your comfort zone. I've been to France many times and as someone commented before, it might be hard to get a job other than teaching Japanese if you don't speak French. Teaching should be not too hard to do as Japanese people have a big interest in Japan and Japanese. Someone else commented, and I'd agree that the Netherlands is a very nice country to stay at - it's very international, you won't need to learn Dutch as people speak very good English (though of course, learning the language always helps but in this case, I had many friends who managed to live a normal life without speaking Dutch). It's a small country, wages should be quite high compared to Japan, and you can quickly travel through Europe. France can also be great though, just remember that the South gets very hot as well in summer ;) Good luck with the month in April, very excited to hear what your personal experience will be - because always remember, no matter what other people say and recommend, in the end, your own opinion and feeling should make that decision!
Congratulations! A working visa is a great way to get a new start in life. It's kind of weird to me how there's an age limit though. I think Europe is a great idea. Like you said, it is very easy to go to other countries within Europe. As for France, I've heard living in France without speaking French can be a bit difficult. If you have friends living there though, I'm sure they would have a much better idea than me since I've only traveled to France as a tourist. Going before for a month to get idea of how life there would be is a great idea. Excited for the new experiences in your future!
Thanks for the podcast, nice and relaxing! Well, since you still have enough time to decide, I would definitely suggest consider Netherlands as well. The big reason is that 95% of population here do speak English and it makes it so much easier to live and communicate. Aside from unpredictable weather I have little to complain about living here, very nice place! Of course France can also be a good choice in case if you have a lot of friends over there, or if you spend some time learning French in advance. Because I do kinda feel that being able to communicate via a common language in the country is really important, so please consider that communication aspect as well. And I think that its indeed a very smart move to plan a 1 month trip in advance to see whether you like France or not, and whether a language will or wont be an issue. So whichever you choose ,Haruka, wish you a lot of fun and success in your holidays ahead!
Definitely different to what most Japanese people would pick. Canada, Australia being the popular choices. The only thing I am thinking is the language barrier. English is a universal language but it is a bit tricky with French. Not sure how easy it would be to find work in France compared to other countries. Will , let's see 🙂.
Please place the Japanese subtitles a little higher, so the English subtitles will appear below them rather than on top of them. Currently, English and Japanese subtitles cover each other so they can't both be seen at the same time.
Go luck in France, hope you enjoy. But let me tell you, my Japanese’s wife (32 yrs, I’m Asian American. I lived in Japan 5years, she learned English and I did not want to speak Japanese , this sacrifice by me, made her a successful global businesswomen). She has flown over 2 million mile, traveled to all those countries you have mentioned, and tells me she hated Paris after working on projects there. As noted in your podcast cast, French don’t like to speak English, While the other countries she has worked in has made some effort to communicate to her in English creating a successful project for all. My to cents. 😊. Good luck.
Hello Haruka, im curious to know where you have chosen for your working holiday. (Your name means faraway ). What ever you have chosen. It is where you are meant to be🙏
Bonne chance! Half my family lives in france. If you dont speak fluent french , french people are less likely to speak to you as as their english is generally very bad and they're not good at understanding non-french accents.
They are not distributing sweets and chocolates in the streets of Paris! everything is overrated about France, it is about marketing and stupid movies made by Hollywood, showing Eifel towers in all those American movies, it is nothing interesting, probably you will find it out by yourself, once you are there? I worked in Paris several years ago as a freelance consultant. You may find more tastier cheese and foods in other countries. One can hardly find a naturally grown tree in Paris, they cut them like a cylinder or other shapes and they think, they are beautiful!

Bon voyage !
merci🇫🇷

Awesome. Keep it up 👍

The French customs are not "rude" but the public life is not orderly and respectful as in Japan. You can read some books about this mentality.
The word you're looking for is "reciprocal".
'promosm' ✨
