Thanks! Good to know that a 10 lb one would fit in my TO. Different brand, similar interior size. I'll probably do the 1st half of the cook with the turkey breast down, just be the on the safe side. Flip at the 1/2 way point, just in case crispy may go too far.
It really doesn't come with much of a cookbook or even suggested cooking times or which function to use. I kind of had to just figure things out but the air fryer cheat sheets from amazon are pretty helpful for air frying at least.
What I want to know is, does the turkey splatter on the sides and top of the unit? Hard to clean, I had an Oster toaster oven which was impossible to clean. Replaced it with this model.
I just purchased one of these because we live in Japan, and they do not have ovens in 99.9% of their homes. I was planning to try to cook a turkey in this one, so this was very helpful. Question though, did the turkey turn out moist or dry on the top? Just wondering?
I don’t get why the company says not to use foil bcuz you can and should use foil. Bcuz those pans are just rust trays that will be covered in rust after a few uses and the foil keeps the pans rust free. These appliances cost too much to have a rusted out pan after a few uses. And that air fried turkey looks wonderful. I got the regular Oster oven and want to get the air fryer model.
Their official explaination was that it "could cause the oven to overheat". Really? All that metal in there and I'm supposed to believe a thin sheet of foil is going to cause overheating? I'm not buying that reason so I will continue to use the foil unless I see a real problem with using it. You're right about those trays too, one use and mine was all tarnished and as far as I can find, replacement trays and racks aren't available, at least for right now, so I'll take me chances. Thanks for watching!👍👍
@@AllAmericanMack It's because some people use it on the crumb tray, which reflects heat back toward the heating elements. The manual that came with mine stated that could destroy type elements in my toaster oven. As far as I know, there's no problem with lining the tray under a turkey. Scrubbing those trays with steel wool removes the protective coating that prevents rust.
From what I could find, they say it could cause the oven to overheat which makes no sense being that the whole inside is made of metal 🤷. I do know that I use foil in it every time I use it and it's never been a problem and makes cleanup easier so I will continue to use it.
Here are the specs: Model: TSSTTVFDDAF-026 Oster Digital French Door Air Fry Toaster Oven Extra-large toaster oven Dimensions: 12.9"H x 21.7"W x 18.6"D Exterior: 16.7"H x 20.4"W x 24.3"L Weight: 27.2 lbs 1700 wattage More Information: Fits up to a 15" x 12" baking pan Interior lighting 3 rack positions 10 preset cooking functions 12-hour timer shuts off automatically Includes an air fry rack, wire/broil rack, durable baking pan, and removable crumb tray Durable, premium stainless steel finish
All of the airfryer manuals tell you not to use foil. Personally I don't think there's anything wrong with it so long as it is weighted down or secure. The reason they don't like people to use it as if the foil is loose it could potentially blow around with the fan of the air fryer being so strong and have the opportunity to get in contact with the heating elements.

Nice video & explaining, thank you.
I know that you said bake at 350 but did you use air fry button or on bake?
He noted he baked it at 360° and had a banner over the video, also.
I had to go back and chevk.
Hello, did you use the convection oven setting, bake or roast? Also, does using aluminum foil cause damage to the oven itself?
Does this come with a cookbook like the Oster Convection Oven?
Wow! It makes a pretty good size Turkey !!!

Can you do a video on how you clean the oven? Thank you great videos.
Thank you. I can definitely do one on cleaning it and will make one very soon!

I didn't find much at all and was a little surprised by how little there was. I expected more since almost the entire cooking was used.
Hey I'm thinking about doing this this Thanksgiving what about if I use the turkey cooking bag?
I don't see any reason why you couldn't! I've never used the cooking bags but think it should work just fine. 👍
What kind of fire extinguisher do you recommend? I'd be uncomfortable with a 10 pounder. Good Luck.

@@AllAmericanMack LOL! Word! You nailed it!

Great job Mack!!
Thanks man even though I know a turkey cooking video isn't exactly groundbreaking!! Lol

@@AllAmericanMack Thanks for the info! I'll definitely be using foil as well.

Using aluminum foil in the air fryer can affect the air flow and cause the motor to blow.
Good point but I don't think it's going to affect the airflow the way I'm using it. It's just lining an already solid pan to help with cleanup.
I like this very large air fryer as opposed to the small ones that don't work well. Nice vid.
Thanks for watching!👍👍

He baked it, not air fried.
@@ellenhofer3343 I know
👀
Why would you not move the other racks out of the oven.
Thinking the top is gonna be dry if not burnt
I agree. Maybe he tented it with foil while it rested after baking, outside the oven, as recommended
Try doing a ham and prime rib roast in it
350 is too much to cook turkey
