I have been looking for something exactly like this. Just a button or two and serial out to a microcontroller (In my case, ESP32) - I can handle the rest. You were very clear, concise and sound was good, my pet peeve. Cant wait to watch part II ! Thanks!
Great tutorial. The graphics look really good on that display! Page swapping takes me back 20 years to programming games for DOS. If only I had that GUI design software instead of typing every line of code!
These screens have pretty good resolution for their size, they do look great in person. The bigger ones, like the one I used (5") and the 7" are a little pricey ($85-$100cad) but the smaller ones are pretty cheap. But since they use serial communication (TX-RX) they are great for some Arduino projects and will surely use them again in future projects. Btw I know what you're talking about programming tons of lines to create some DOS graphics, I started with computers back in the day with a Texas Instruments TI 99/4A and would type lines and lines of codes found in magazines to create some games :) Thanks for watching!
thanks for your guide. it was actually exactly what I was looking for. is there a way to switch automaticly to other images/menu for when, you go back to a frontend fx launchbox/bigbox or switch emulators?
Thanks Garth, those displays are really good, and have pretty high resolutions. The bigger ones are a little pricey, but I'll make other projects using the smaller ones soon. Thanks for watching!
Awesome Tut, question, if I have a tft file written for a 3.5" display, will it work on a 2.8" display? I'm thinking due to the different resolution between the two screens it should be oversize for the 2.8" display. Will I be able to load the code in the developer and simply change the screen size and recompile the code to suit the 2.8"?
Nowhere do you show how to create the graphics of the buttons. It would be better if the code of the project was available in a zip or other file. How do I test the code without the buttons?
I really like using these displays with Arduino, I've just scratched the surface but so far I think they are the best color graphic LCD to use for project that don't require fast moving graphics (ie. games), great for GUI. The bigger ones (5" and 7") are a little pricey (80-100cad) but the smaller ones are not that bad. Thanks for watching!
For anyone interested in getting the code or more information the tutorial page is now available on my website here: www.brainy-bits.com/nextion-arcade-panel/

Hi Great vids can you show how your friend done the screen in the marquee and maybe add a page for buttons used in each game. thanks
What if I want to use the same button as an on-off button

great one bro....
What was your all over experience with this?Is it worth buying for money?

This one doesn't appear to have made it to your tutorials on the web yet.
Hi, I'm moving the website soon, and should have this tutorial on the site very soon. Will update here when it's available. Thanks.
