Kayaking the Hiwassee River in Reliance Tennessee.

This was a simple kayaking trip down the Hiwassee river. This section of the river was all straight forward class 2 river running. We paddled river left most the trip. Did you run this in October? I’m trying to plan a trip on October 12th of this year....we went on labor Day weekend this year and had a blast. I’m just curious if people paddle it in October. I know the TVA website shows two generators are pumping on the 12th.

Yak Moore yes, a lot of people come out when the water is flowing. My wife did it while wearing a farmer John wet suit , paddling on a sit on top kayak. You probably should check out the water release schedule before making your plans.
