Forensic Testing Service (FTS) provides forensic analysis through fully accredited high-quality drug and alcohol hair strand testing and expert reporting.
FTS are also leading the way in hair strand drug & alcohol testing reform to challenge the use of cut-off levels in family court proceedings. We are one of the few companies that follow High Court guidance (Re H) and Appeal Court guidance (Re D). At FTS, we don’t rely on laboratory cut-off levels. This is why our model of best practice for drug and alcohol reporting is specifically designed for family court investigations, to offer assurance that decisions are made based upon a full forensic investigation and the balance of probabilities.
Our laboratory routinely analyses scalp hair, nails, blood, body hair and many other relevant markers to give you the most comprehensive drug and alcohol analysis. We are committed to supporting our clients in achieving the highest standards in their operations.
Based in Mirfield, West Yorkshire, FTS has one of the most sophisticated in-house forensic, analytical laboratories, which is fully accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 and Lab51 Standards. Together our experts carry out the broadest range of drugs and medications available, including over 3,000 compounds - illicit drugs, medications, novel psychoactive substances, spice compounds and steroids.
Sample collections usually take place on board one of our fleet of custom-built mobile units equipped with clinical facilities, including a toilet and hand-washing facilities, as well as CCTV, which supports the evidential process. Our team of highly trained forensic investigation officers collect samples, including hair, nails, body hair, blood and urine, in line with strict chain of evidence.
Our expert team has over 75 years combined experience in the field of hair testing and expert reporting. Report interpretation is detailed and considers all contributing factors, including answers from a comprehensive client questionnaire as part of the overall investigation.
