    Parabolics are designed to carry weight and be comfortable while doing it.
    Never seen one "bend right down and not come back"
    As for the caravan drw bar angle, if it cant be level then pointing down is the next best thing your much wors off if its pointing up in the air while towing. Obviously within reason.
    There is also no reason people have to go out and buy a whole brand new suspension kit if they have a couple of buggered shocks. Shocks, if poor quality, will usually not outlast the springs. A little bit of misleading info here i think

  • @johnflynn556
    @johnflynn556 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

    When I had my airbags fitted, I was told to load then inflate. I think that was because if you inflate first, you make might over pressure the bags as they get compressed from the load. It would be good to know the correct method.

    If your life circumstances changed( going from single to having wife and kids) and you have to got from a non GVM Heavy duty setup to a GVM setup. Do you need to replace all of the aftermarket components or can you keep some of the after market components that meet the GVM specs?

    • @toughdogsuspension4wd
      @toughdogsuspension4wd 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Unfortunately yes! The kit must leave here as a certified GVM kit to be recognized as an approved GVM upgrade.

    NIce work guys, informative for the average guy/gal, towing, tradie, and modifying to a say 2" lift. But how about modifying a vehicle to say a 3/4" lift. Be interested in seeing an ep with some detailed gurus, on how to mod to a 4/3" lift, get angles right, sway bars, bump stops, getting spring rates right, getting/adjusting shock rates , etc. Constantly chasing spring and shock rates for my 4" Patrol wagon

    I have a question, After "abusing" my ute for a year and a half on deep corrugation and some wombat holes my ute began to roll and nosedive significantly during cornering and also rebounded harshly when hitting speedbumps and corrugation. I didnt even carrying anything heavier than 100kg for most of the time heck I think even less than 100kg.What should I check first?

    • @4WD247
      @4WD247  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Definitely recommend taking it to your closest suspension specialist to check this out mate! Something's definitely not right there.

    • @rowangleeson8244
      @rowangleeson8244 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Corrugations will have shortened the life of your shockies, and worn your bushes a lot. Get yourself some tough dog adjustable shockies, and new bushes, the front first and if it's leaf sprung I'd put new leafs in, if coils, they'll probably be fine to stay.
      Also if you still drive on corrugated dirt roads, do yourself a massive favour and put on the tough dog adjustable steering damper, cannot not recommend them highly enough, I was very pleasantly surprised, you will be to, amazing on rough dirt roads to keep the steering steady!!
      I've done all the suspension on my gu patrol with the adjustable tough dog shockies and I would rate them extremely highly! It makes the suspension on the 4x4 so so so personlisable! Hope this helps, cheers!

    Also with wheel alignments for IFS vehicles, every 20,000km for normal on road travelling, 10,000km doing gravel roads and uneven surfaces, and after every major off-road trip (Cape York, High Country, $1,000 Track TAS etc.).
    I’m very fussy with my wheel alignment and weary with my tyre wear

    my question is determining if it's worth putting money into my little 4wd to make it more capable on the beach etc.
    model: terracan crdi
    *can get some nice winch bars, full/neiked.
    *can get rear, air/elect locker.
    * can fit 32" skinny. legally only 30".
    * clearance, visually it all looks very low (tank low).
    clearance for beach driving is something i am concerned could turn a nice outing into a constant recovery day.
    So my amateur Question is : could the rear coils have an airbag installed to create more clearance temporarily for soft sand driving?
    cheers from shaun.

    spring under = less axle wrap, springs can be mounted directly under the chassis rails for strength without raising centre of gravity too much. rising spring rate for load carrying.
    spring over = flatter spring for better ride quality, less shackle travel, more even spring rate.

      @@4WD247 I know mate, I was just referring to his statement that there's NO SUCH THING for leaf springs, that would mean ANY leaf springs. You'd think a 4WD would be much higher rated than a Falcon Ute anyway, as far as suspension goes. It's sad that you can't see the correlation or my point but meh... whatever.
