On ganden nyamchue we put candle in Kotongkori or kotonhpori which is quite similar with pumpkin, But kotongpori is much smaller than pumpkin. We used to do that way when we were small in golathala

Finally, to put my 2 cents in, traditionally, we don’t put nuts varieties in Changkol (ཆང་བསྐོལ་)but droma(གྲོ་མ་) a wild sweet potato variety which some refer as sweet root, and Chura(སྔོ་ཕྱུར་/ མངར་ཕྱུར) Chang (wine) Tsampa(རྩམ་པ་) Brown Sugar(བུ་རམ་) However, some Tibetan in diaspora, liken to put raisin(རྒུན་འབྲུམ་) in Kolden. Soon Losar is approaching, so wish you all well and prosperity in the new year! Keep up your great work!
