      The arguments against the free trade zone working are very sound and I commend you for the good research.
      Again you miss the point. CANZUK does and will not have to be a federation.
      The one elephant in the room CaspianReport misses is financial free zone along with a free trade zone.
      Why is this crucial?
      The City of London is the second largest stock and financial market on earth.
      Its financial global reach is impressive.
      Under CANZUCK the combined weight of City of London, Toronto, Sydney and Auckland would displace Wall Street as the number one stock and financial hub.
      No air, land or sea necessary in a cyber digital world for this to happen.
      Along with free movement of professional workers interoperability of such a free financial zone is assured.
      This the lynch pin on why it will work and CANZUCK know this implicitly.
      CaspianReport it would seem does not.

      I'm English but I've spent a lot of time in Oz and spoken to aussies and kiwis about it. In this video he presents CANZUK as some sort of Empire 2.0, but in reality we all know the USA is the dominant global power. Britain is different now, and CANZUK would have to be about shared values, such as individualism, liberty, etc.
      It's also not true that we are returning only due to Brexit; one of the main things about Brexit is we have completely different attitudes to many European countries, as opposed to Anglophone countries.

      agree, this as an American I support, but, I can't see this happening without some level of the US involved. Not as a full member, but as an ally/partner for sure. The US is a part of the Anglosphere, much to the chagrin of some of our cousins who perhaps resent the US as a former colony who succeeded in rebelling and becoming a superpower. We already have our military and intelligence alliances that will make creating such a thing like CANZUK impossible without the US being involved. That loose agreement is already there, but, the US is involved in that loose agreement (ANZUS, NORAD, NATO, 5 Eyes, etc)

      Yeah, This guy controlled the narrative o hard especially at the end of the video making a poor men's assumption on a lot of topics. He says it will bend the knee to the USA in Naval capabilities however with the 4th largest Navy on earth and most advanced Navy that simply isn't true. The United Kingdom, Australia, Canada and New Zealand have potential for more, The UK has two carriers with Australia and Canada both having the surface fleet to adopt carriers themselves if needed. Canada could adopt helicopter docks similar to the Canberra class and Australia has the Canberra class itself again there is enough surface fleet ships to enable this.
      In theory and in practice they can moderate waters quite happily and easily. The USA has NO say in what goes on and CANZUK was never about Anglo unification hence why Ireland or USS isn't there but about Commonwealth countries uniting somewhat hence why Singapore, Malaysia and South Africa are options to be looked at, Singapore especially since their economy is almost t the right stage.
      He acts like it needs to be a federation parliament??? The majority of the ideas don't need a federation parliament. It makes things more coercive but you can simply do subyearly meetings ie 6months to discuss changes in regards to tarrifs changes, immigration standards or defence and foreign policy outlook without needing that upper parliament. In fact you don't even need that 6 month meeting, You can simply contact the trade minister's for trade deals changes etc.

      Probably because the US alone would be larger in population than all of CANZUK combined. That would have a significant influence on the politics of a CANZUKUS federation since the market and military power of the US would dominate. In effect, CANZUKUS would be a modified version of NATO.

      We held a referendum in Australia some years ago to decide whether we should be a republic or stay a constitutional monarchy. Trade between the UK and AU/NZ was worth about $20bn which is slightly more than UK/CA. Brits also move to Australia at a rate of 30 000 a year vs Canada which is roughly the same as NZ at 6000.

    What CANZUK really means is the expansion of the existing Australia/New Zealand Closer Economic Relations agreement to the UK and Canada. The CER is one of the most comprehensive and successful free trade agreements anywhere in the world.

    • @user-qf6yt3id3w
      @user-qf6yt3id3w 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I like the way the CER is based on mutual recognition of standards rather than having some sort of CER wide standardization across Australia and New Zealand. So in the CER arrangement, Australia recognizes educational qualifications granted by New Zealand universities and food standards by the NZ food standards authority. There's no EU style attempt to make everyone have the same standards, more like 'those folks over there have comparable standards to us'. So you can qualify as a solicitor in NZ and go work as one in AZ. Of course, over time this is likely to mean that solicitors in NZ get told 'Here in NZ we do things this way but if you're in Australia they do things slightly differently'.
      It's basically a much better way to do it than the EU model which doesn't even try to make qualifications portable but does try, and largely fails, to micromanage a load of stuff to benefit France and Germany and screw everyone else.

    What I find most interesting is that, according to this video, the EU wasn't precisely the problem. The British wanted a union where they called the shots, a collection of vassals that would be underneath them. For London to expect the rest changing policies to suit them is rather arrogant.
    Besides, it is ironic that this anglosphere union, for all its might and power, would be completely dependent on the one power that isn't part of the club.

      Hardly. 60 trade deals signed in the year of a global pandemic and over 10 million people vaccinated mainly using a British developed and manufactured vaccine that costs 1/5 that of others, is more durable and more practical. Vaccinated rate is 4th highest in the world, 5x that of the EU combined. Say what you said again?

    • @Eteriaa
      @Eteriaa 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Olliebobalong He's saying that the UK already had most of those trade deals, they have simply been rearranged outside of the EU and some of them in worse terms for the UK than the ones you had before. He's saying that the UK has vaccinated more than the EU because the UK government went ahead with a vaccine with the minimum amount of trials, and that the costs weren't 1/5 of the “others”. They are, in fact, 7 times more expensive than in the EU which managed to have lower prices thanks to being a larger market.
      Before you mention it, you can't blame the EU for the current rate of vaccination. You can argue that it has had a late start vaccinating due to the number of trials and agreements needed for a vaccine to be accepted (which I don't really mind as long as they ensure the effectiveness of the vaccine), but right now the vaccine has already been accepted and AZ is simply failing to deliver on its promises. If you don't have vaccines it doesn't matter how ready the vaccine rollout infrastructure is, no-one will be vaccinated.
      You want me to say that again?

      lol the issue is the GDP difference and the population difference. It would be unfeasible for India to join CANZUK, immigration away from India would just hurt the development of your state. Although maybe in the future you could join as a subsidiary nation limited to increased trading rights. (I imagine this feature would be extended to the Commonwealth)
