It is too bad that the selection brush does not work like the adjustment brush. The adjustment brush allows you to use any brush in your brush list. So for example you can you use it with a a scatter brush to to make patterns or add texture to an image. If this same functionality was available with the selection brush you could use the same scatter brush to use desperation effects etc. I am sure with your creativity you could find a bunch of uses where you create a brush then use it for s specific effect you would like to create within an image.
I don't see any difference (aka, benefit) in working with the Selection Brush vs a Lasso of an area to create a selection...maybe I'm missing something. Ditto with Adjustment Brush. I don't get the advantage - it just seems like regular adjustments on training wheels. And, the regular adjustments give more control.
I agree. Both of these tools are "dumbed down" versions of tools that have already existed and which actually work better. The Selection brush is the Quick Mask as a brush with fewer options. And the Adjustment Brush is just a shortcut to adding an adjustment layer and mask. In reality, brushing is the usually NOT the best way to make a mask for adjustments, so I don't see myself using the Adjustment brush in any actual workflows.
Thank you for explaining how to use these new features!!
This was so useful! Thanks for showing some great applications and tricks along the way!
Thanks Rickard, very helpful.
Muchas gracias.
