Thank you for running the same signals through each device. Helps a lot when comparing units

I've had mine for about 20 years. I still use it on a regular basis.

Still have mine after all these years, in mint condition. Great underrated unit. Dances nicely in a mix along with my Lexicons & Eventides.

Great reverb and still is! I use it together with a SYMETRIX 606 delay and both of them ROCK!

I remember when the REV 500 came out. Just like the flagship units of many of the Top Digital Reverb units l own like Lexicon, EV Dynacord, Zoom, TC Electronic, Yamaha, and a few others, the REV 500 is not a one size cure all. It is meant to work alongside the flagship reverbs I mentioned. None of them have everything. And unless you own a PCM 70, PCM 80 or even PCM 90 series Lexicons, you will never be happy with the reverb sounds. You still have to invest a little money if you want that lush Lexicon sound. One of the best sounding reverbs I own is the Behringer REV2496. A real sleeper if you can't afford a PCM 70 or better if you can get your hands on one. The REV 500 still sounds amazing for what it is and does. One of the great verbs in my spice rack. Incredible job on this video. Thanks for making and sharing!

Do you think the Behringer REV2496 V-Verb sounded better than this Yamaha REV500?
What do you think of the older REV5 if you have experience?

Shame the presets have not been carefully adjusted to suit the source material. It means everything sounds so dark and muddy.

Sounds a little lifeless and digital compared to some of today's offerings. The Live presets weren't bad but yeah. Thanks for sharing saved me 150 bucks

it is common to run reverbs into delays and sometimes the reverse in todays productions, I have got used to hearing this in the last few years since the reverb embargo ended...records are once again drowned in reverb and then some

I actually feel the opposite. The verbs on the M32 sound dead compared to this beautiful sounding unit.

    Rev500 sounds great!
How does it compare to Yamaha SPX2000? What’s the difference?
    I’m new to Yamaha.

Sounds pretty good on strings and vocals. On drums I prefer lexicon pcm70, a real plate or even something the opposite trashy and bright with old bad sounding a-d/d-a.

I never liked the REV500. Even the REV100 sounded a lot better for me...
