Thanks for putting the video out. We plan to do the Tanami Road next year, we need to estimate how much fuel we need, are you able to provide how much fuel you used from the first fuel stop on the Tanami.

I filled up Alice 270 litre tank then I put 30 litres in At Tllmouth Wells
Made it to Halls Creek about 1/4 tank left so I’m not 100% accurate on how much I used but I’d guess 190 - 200 litres

Hi this is just the video I needed very very informative 🤗 I have a few questions ….we’re from the uk and will be doing the Tanami road from Alice to halls creek to get to el questro station…..we’re be doing the road in 2 days….we’re new to this camping game so we’ve hired a 4wd roof top camper hilux which I’m sure qualifies for the Tanami…..so do you need a permit to drive from Alice to halls creek ? Is there a border crossing when you cross into wa ? If so where to purchase the permits from ?
Will be staying at tilmouth camp site for sure then a big drive to get us near halls creek but no idea any suggestions ? Will be doing the Tanami in very early august this year.
Thanks for sharing the video I enjoyed watching it 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
And thank you for your time. 🤗

Sorry it took me so long to reply
You do not need a permit for the Tanami. There are a few campsites along the way they are all pretty well marked. I would suggest you download the wiki camps app. I think it's about $10 but that'll be the best. $10 you ever spend the Hilux will do it no problem . Suggest you don't stop in Halls cricket itself. There are a few camps either side of the town. Enjoy your trip.

@ no problem at all! Thanks for the info couldn’t find much online about permits or where to camp so thank you very much 👍🏻 won’t be camping at halls creek as we’re hopefully driving onto el questro station from Wolfe creek.
I have a big hema map and WikiCamps now so will look into these while we still plan.
Thanks for you time and help very much appreciated 🙌🏻
