This very SUPREME COURT WAS ABLE TO HEAR A CASE WITHIN 5 DAYS AFTER THE ATTORNEY GENERAL FILED FOR THE CASE TO BE HEARD QUICKER THAN ANY OTHER CASE.
What then is the justification for additional Judges?? Any sensible person should convince me….

I totally agree with lawyer Kweku Paintsil. Look at the US population compared to Ghana's and the number of judges they have. What is wrong with us in Africa. We must be ashame of ourselves.

Listening to your discussion meaning in say ten years time, we could have 50 judges. Come on...let's wake up.
Why don't we have judges in other regions to take on these cases instead of concentrating these cases in one jurisdiction. Establish supreme courts in each region to take on specific cases geared to each region. The main supreme court should concentrate on cases specific to the interest of the state. Furthermore, the Chief Justice should stay away from any suggestions or nomination of judges to the supreme court. There is no justification for the chief justice on m nominating a judge. It is the purview only of the president to present the name of the judge(s) to the judiciary for considerate.
Additional Justices are needed.

What has the current ones been doing? We only have one Supreme Court premise, 16 supreme Court judges now. We have never had more than 10 sit at once on a case. So what's this irrational support for something that does not make sense?

The president can suggest judge for the supreme court not any a chief justice. Saviour Kudze is wrong for suggesting that the president can ONLY nominate a chief justice for the parliament, if I hear coreect from him suggesting that.

Kweku Pantsi is correct. The chief justin in the United State, for example have no role in even suggesting a name to the president for nomination. Period.
The CJ, the President and political parties in Ghana are playing with 🔥. You are pushing the patience button of the youth in our country.
You want to appoint 5 more judges meaning five more personal security, five more article 70 emoluments, 5 more special accommodation, five more special offices for the Supreme Court judges, special staff for the Supreme Court judges and etc.
This is not just about the whether we need more judges on the Supreme Court but whether as a country we can afford this kind of things.
Every time we have a problem in Ghana, we go ahead to deal with the symptoms. We sit down to increase districts from 100 to 261 when it was possible to just re-demarcate instead of forming new districts. We go ahead to create new constituencies with some so small in size. We go ahead to create 6 more regions with some flimsy excuses to spend more money with no concrete development to show for it.
15 Supreme Court judges is already too much for Ghana. Do all the current judges sit on cases? Why can’t the current ones work extra hours and be paid to handle the outstanding cases?
We can’t continue to be treated as if we don’t think in our country. What the F is wrong with us?
